  1. Well we don’t have one punter to punt and one punter to hold? Not sure where that’s coming from. Our ST only guys are Tyler Matakevich, Matt Haack, Tyler Bass, Reid Ferguson and Taiwan Jones. That’s it. Our 4th string RB and 4th string LB. What’s the problem?
  2. Bojórquez at 40 yards net average vs Haack at 38 yards net average is significantly better?
  3. Have you actually sat down and dissected rosters and players that were just core special teamers? I have a post somewhere looking at the Patriots under Belichick and they had as many “ST only” players as we generally roster. I’m sure it’s not as extreme across the league as you’re perceiving it to be.
  4. Schoen is potentially moving on for a promotion and we really can't control that. The opportunity to run his own operation - it's every football executive's dream to have the power. I'm not saying I want to lose Schoen, but we can't control that. Beane has done a very good job identifying front office personnel and assembling a front office staff that have plenty of experience. Dan Morgan is now an AGM in Carolina. Brian Gaine was the GM in Houston. Gaine got caught up in the bull#### in Houston. He was more than capable of running an entire organization - why would I think he's incapable of being Beane's new right-hand man? Lake Dawson was the right-hand man in Tennesse for 5 years before there was some turnover Terrance Gray and Malik Boyd have a wealth of experience and Boyd has gotten GM interviews in the past. They've gone out and brought in some younger guys like Curtis Rukavina to learn underneath these guys. At the end of the day, it's a highly collaborative approach at OBD, one that ensures that guys understand how everything works.
  5. This would suck... but at the same time I have full confidence in Beane to find a suitable replacement. Crazy thing is, we have guys in house that can take over for Schoen. I know he's been a big part of things behind the scenes. Guys like Malik Boyd, Lake Dawson, Terrance Gray and Brian Gaine are more than capable. We'd just be back filling one of their positions... probably even elevating Curtis Rukavina to replace who is promoted.
  6. Rhule report came out before this weekend. Giants announced that decision with Judge today.
  7. Panthers committed to retaining Rhule. Giants have committed to Judge. I can’t see Rivera getting a pink slip. Raiders can’t possibly move on from Bisaccia. I think that would be insane. The man steadied a rapidly sinking ship and got them into the playoffs. He deserves to get the full-time tag. I know there’s a good chance they might, but it would be a mistake.
  8. Gase was miserable and not even in the same stratosphere as Flores. I think the narrative around Flores was a little weird. I never felt like the rosters he had were so devoid of talent like the media claimed. He had more talent on that 5-11 team than McDermott had his first year Buffalo made the playoffs… or the following year when they went 6-10. He’s had issues getting his team to show up for their biggest games, but at the same time the team played hard always. He botched handling Tua (should have had Hebert so it’s not his fault). I’d argue they haven’t drafted very well, it’s been ok, but not great. Ultimately he choked last year and his team underachieved this year. He should NOT have been fired because I don’t see any upgrades and I think he’s a solid HC… but he didn’t deserve to be 100% safe. I’m really struggling to dissect Flores TBH. A lot of conflicting information.
  9. All the Brandon Staley worship needs to stop.
  10. Damn it. It’s my Grandma’s 80th birthday dinner on Saturday. I told my Mom to schedule something any day BEFORE January 15th… she chose to schedule ON the 15th. I’m so pissed. Obviously going to the birthday dinner, so now we have to sell the tickets.
  11. It has nothing to do with change? A majority of these analytical concepts are concepts that have been around in their specific sports for decades. There’s just additional context and ability to track things. The irony is that most of the older coaches I’ve spent time around, genuinely want to learn about the new concepts. They ask questions, try to learn and do their best to incorporate the concepts. My generation generally does the opposite. They think they know it all, don’t give a ***** about what the guys with decades worth of experience have to say and just steamroll over everyone for their own personal gain. 24 if you really care THAT much.
  12. Except for Jordan Poyer who came running in from out the play and shoved Gronk and then went to check on Tre…
  13. He's afraid younger guys are going to take his job? He's been a great DC for 15 years. He retired and came back because Arthur Smith asked him... and he loved working with Arthur Smith. He didn't NEED to come back. Easier doesn't necessarily mean better and easier doesn't necessarily mean you learn as much. Nowhere does he say you need to line a field to be a good coordinator... he says it makes you appreciate what you're doing more. He's spot on - having to start at the bottom makes you FAR more aware of everything going on around you when you get to the top. Being able to relate to the last guy on your staff makes a world of difference. He's not saying analytics are bad... he's saying they're not the only thing. Relationships > Analytics I'm a 20-something working in professional sports that agrees with everything that he says... I guess I'm an old man.
  14. This is what @FilthyBeastis failing to grasp as well. He’s yet to prove we could’ve somehow gotten Josh at a discount compared to his current contract. Contracts aren’t awarded in the NFL based on who is truly the top player at the position and then a sliding scale from there, the time that guys come due to be signed are all different. It’s based on the current market. This off-season the two highest paid QBs in terms of AAV we’re Mahomes and Dak. Josh has significantly outperformed Dak Prescott the last two years. The logical option would’ve been to pay him more than Dak and less than Mahomes in terms of AAV… which is what we did. He’s done nothing this year to change that… if anything his performance has confirmed that was the right decision.
  15. Wait a minute… Josh Allen needs to elevate his team to another level and at a minimum take them to another AFCCG in order to prove himself. Meanwhile Justin Herbert has never won his division, Joe Burrow just did for the first time and neither have a playoff game under their belt yet. How in God’s name are they more of a proven quantity than him? Burrow (.462) and Herbert (.484) are both sub .500 in their first two seasons. Josh was winning games at a .555 clip his first two years. Inconsistent 4 years into his career? The man has statistically been a top 3 QB the past two seasons and has progressed year to year. His numbers are down SLIGHTLY from last year, but nothing that’s overwhelmingly concerning considering he’s still 80% of a top 3 scoring offense in football. His “inconsistency” today is extremely different than his inconsistency as a rookie. Don’t try and lump the two in together, it’s disingenuous. His down games today still result in multi-score wins and his best games have him shredding the NFL’s top defenses. Do you ever read back through what you’ve said and realize nothing adds up?
  16. This isn’t meant to be anything more than fun… I know most of us are aware how the Bills have fared in 1 score games… but this tweet looks at all 32 teams. I thought it was interesting.
  17. Baker in New Orleans is exactly what I would expect when the inevitable split in Cleveland occurs.
  18. @FilthyBeast I’m assuming you’ve spent the past 24 hours crafting a really well thought out response?
  19. COVID likely means that the meals are prepackaged from a caterer or restaurant. Which means they’re ordering a fixed amount of boxed meals for the players… instead of buffet style meals like it was pre-pandemic. These prepackaged meals could be 1/player, 2/player or more. My assumption is he’s walking out of there with food meant for other players.
  20. You listed Herbert, Burrow, Mahomes, Brady and Rodgers specifically. Let's look at their comparative body of work as you call it... Here are their stats from the past two seasons side by side... please explain to me how the other 5 are definitively better than Josh Allen over the past two seasons. The per game stats are there too because I know you're going to argue Burrow was hurt and that it's not fair because of that... but on a per game basis he's still behind Josh Allen. For reference Josh Allen (9845) is 2nd in total yards behind Patrick Mahomes (9944). Josh Allen (86) is also 2nd in total TDs behind Aaron Rodgers (89). Granted Josh Allen (34) also did turn the ball over a little bit more than everyone else. Brady (28), Burrow (25), Herbert (26), Mahomes (25) and Rodgers (11). I really shouldn't have to include this here... but because you said it's debatable that Josh Allen is behind Dak Prescott, Kyler Murray, Ryan Tannehill, Lamar Jackson and Derek Carr... let's take a look! (It's not letting upload the image, but I'll include right after this...) Compared to this group, Josh Allen (9845) is 1st in total yards... the next closest is Derek Carr (8970)... followed by Kyler Murray (8732). Josh Allen (86) is also 1st in total TDs... the next closest is Kyler Murray (65) and Ryan Tannehill (64). Derek Carr (36) had the most turnovers. The others were Kyler Murray (26), Lamar Jackson (29), Dak Prescott (23) and Tannehill (26). A quick reminder that Murray, Prescott and Jackson all played less games than Josh Allen. Rodgers has clearly been the best QB over the past two seasons. It's not even close, the man is on another level. The notion that you're arguing it's clear cut that Josh is behind the other 4 is insane... and then trying to debate he's somehow behind the other 5 is laughable. He's been playing like a top 3 QB - it's just a game of FilthyBeast manipulation if you want to try and argue he's behind the rest. We can discuss how to measure overall ceiling if you'd like, considering your "comparative body of work" argument doesn't really have legs... EDIT**** Adding the stats for the next group of 5 with Dak Prescott, Derek Carr, Kyler Murray, Ryan Tannehill and Lamar Jackson.
