  1. It’s probably them recognizing it is a mix of him doing what we’ve asked in terms of anchoring against the run (which has been a point of emphasis) and the way opponents have game-planned, which hasn’t really allowed pass rushers to make a major impact. Through the first two weeks, the Ravens and Jets combined to average just 20.5 pass attempts per game. That’s not many opportunities in today’s NFL for a pass rusher to stand out. On top of that, he was off the field by the time Tyrod Taylor came in and threw 11 passes in the fourth quarter of a blowout (I don’t have the snap counts in front of me, but I do know his half-sack came against Fields). Is it really so horrible he managed a PD and a half-sack on about 11 pass plays with Fields in the game? Even so, he registered a pass deflection in each of those weeks plus that half-sack against the Jets. Against the Dolphins, the offense was built around throws behind the line of scrimmage, which largely neutralized the rush. The defense only lost contain on Tua a couple of times, and I’m not sure that was directly on Rousseau. I did notice one scramble where Bosa lost contain, which has been a theme for him each week. Overall, Rousseau has been fine. There are plenty of highly paid EDGE with similar or even worse production through two weeks (yes, I know he’s now through 3 weeks). For example, T.J. Watt has faced teams averaging about 28 pass attempts per game, yet has no sacks or pass deflections to show for it
  2. Well you commented on a side discussion about Rousseau… my 3 games comment wasn’t about the defense as a whole.
  3. Good, you understand the point. It is 3 games.
  4. This is Greg Rousseau’s 5th season in the NFL. What, are you going back to HS or something?
  5. Because any rational person isn’t going to scream from the rooftops after 3 games… it’s really not that difficult, man. Are you willing to come on here and say Daniel Jones is the best QB in the league if he comes out and posts a similar performance to his first two weeks this season? I understand it’s in your nature, and the nature of most human beings to be overwhelming negative and jump conclusions. But holy *****, is it not exhausting for you?
  6. It’s a good thing we won the Super Bowl this week to cover up for it. I guess we’ll have to find out if he can make an impact next year or something, no games left to play! Oh wait, or is that what you and @twoandfourteenthink we “homers” think 😉 Idk, my simple ass is all confused.
  7. You should try watching the Bills games! I know you tuned in this week to watch your Dolphins play, but he’s out there every week for the Bills!
  8. I’m just confused what you want? Everyone to sit here and mope because we beat a division rival by 10 points on a short week while holding them to under 250 yards? Nobody is celebrating like we won the Super Bowl, it’s week 3. You play one week at a time, so you get to react to one week at a time. The whole point of this thing is to ***** enjoy every step of the ride. If you want to be a miserable prick, after a win, that’s your prerogative.
  9. Honestly, unless our kicker goes 50/50 from 50+ yards, people here are gonna overreact no matter what. MVP Mark Moseley could be kicking and folks would still cry about it. Bass has a higher career FG% than four-time Super Bowl champ and three-time All-Pro Adam Vinatieri, for *****’s sake. What the ***** else do we want? He missed a couple XPs and FGs - it ***** happens.
  10. I’ve put this together and posted it every year for 5 years now - might be of interest. I’ve made some updates that I’ll roll out after this season, better accounting for the value of each pick. Spoiler - Bills still do very well.
  11. Brett Veach is really good at drafting - he misses sometimes. Brandon Beane is really good at drafting - he misses sometimes. They’re two of the best in the NFL. They both have their flaws, one has the luxury of walking into a situation with future Hall of Fame players and a Hall of Fame Coach already in the building to mask those issues. Not taking anything away from Veach, he’s really ***** good.
  12. Oh boy, this will be fun...
  13. I mean, they didn't belong on the field the week before...
  14. Jalen Hurts is 9 TDs behind him in about two-thirds of the games. I think Josh will play longer and likely stay ahead, but it would be unfortunate for someone to ***** that record from him.
  15. Nice post, I agree with all of it. Very well said, and something folks should pin when it comes to assessing viable Head Coach candidates.
  16. The Dolphins offensive line is already down 2 starters (James Daniels and Austin Jackson), both on the right side of the offensive line, which is a problem for a left-handed QB. Two starters in their secondary (Storm Duck and Ifeatu Melifonwu) are projected to be OUT on Thursday. One of their reserve corners is also banged up. We’re likely facing a secondary featuring Jack Jones, Rasul Douglas, Ashtyn Davis and Minkah Fitzpatrick.
  17. Please stop parroting this absolute nonsense. He was 18/45 (40%) for 220 yards with 1 TD and 2 INT which was good for a 44.7 Rating. His career numbers give him a 58.7% completion percentage and 66.1 Rating.
  18. QB run, stopped for a minimal gain. On the way down, the most irrelevant player in the league, Michael Clemons, was going for the tackle and swiped inside of his facemask. Josh immediately signaled to come out and ran to the sideline.
  19. We see this every year. The Bills defense has a rough game, the message board blows up, then they practice all week and come out playing better, more fundamental football. Wasn’t it just last season that we gave up 28 points to a pretty average Cardinals offense? Everyone panicked because we had to go on the road against Miami in Week 2—on short rest—without Duwane Smoot, Javon Solomon, and Taron Johnson. To make matters worse, Terrel Bernard went down after just a series or two, which meant we had to lean on Austin Johnson, Cam Lewis, Baylon Spector, and Ja’Marcus Ingram for significant snaps. And yet, we still walked away with a 31–10 win, capped off by an Ingram pick-six. "It's okay, we'll be fine... but have a little faith next time."
  20. Yes, I’m aware. The last time the Jets hired a head coach before Aaron Glenn, four years ago, they brought in San Francisco 49ers Defensive Coordinator Robert Saleh, who in turn hired San Francisco 49ers Passing Game Coordinator Mike LaFleur as his offensive coordinator. Sound familiar?
  21. Ben Johnson got fired by the Bears last night? Didn’t realize that…
  22. What was the move to get Prater onto the active roster? Robbins for Johnston is 1-for-1.
  23. The crazy part about this, is coaches have always felt Josh has the capacity for this too. He’s INCREDIBLY intelligent. It’s really easy to forget that he wasn’t given the exposure to these things in HS and college like other players were. Not to mention he was so physically unrefined, it didn’t even matter. He’s 8 years in and there’s still untapped potential he’s realizing.
