  1. Beane would need to fit that WR under the cap not impossible but need to be less than 10mil. Really that would only be Aiyuk in my mind since he's on his rookie contract but will be looking for 30ish Million per next year. There are a number of 1 WR types going to be FA next year too. Bill's have Diggs money next year to use on a FA then so they could easily fill then need then if the rookie this year doesn't work. The quandary is, trade up giving #28 and next years late 1st for cost controlled big 3 or trade for Aiyuk with #28 and pay top of the market the next 4 years. It is hard to pay top dollar to your WR and QB on offense and I suspect BB would prefer having a WR on their Rookie contract at a 1/3 the cost.
  2. Even with no WR I believe Vegas betting odds have LAC taking the top Tackle available so definitely plausible. That is a big need too especially with Harbaugh/Roman bringing their ball control offense to So. Cal. Regardless I was very against using next years 1st to move up into the top 10. Getting a likely high 2nd from Min via Houston paying the price for MH/Nabers/Odunze, and also freeing up 27 million next year to spend in FA allowing to fill the 25 1rd pick does make it a much more viable option. The price JB purposed in his mock seems fair and I would be good with it.
  3. Reset/Reload not rebuild. This is still a playoff team and Vegas favorite for the AFC East. You don't rebuild when Prime Josh Allen is your QB.
  4. The new NFL model if you pay the QB at a top 5 player you can't pay a WR as top 5 player. Or pay your WR top 5 have a QB on a rookie contract. KC, LAC and Buffalo decided their QB's can raise the level of their receiving weapons. Houston, Indy Chicago, and Minnesota are paying WR's and will have QB's on rookie deals. One or the other.
  5. Higgins, Ayiuk and D. Adams would be the available trade targets. Appears this off season Beane is looking to start phase 2 of the Josh era and getting younger which would cross off Adams (and his large contract). I don't see Cinci trading Higgins to the Bills or any other AFC contender but could be a FA target next year. Ayiuk was rumored to be offered to Jax for #17 and Z Jones... He will need an extension but that can massaged to fit this year. Ayiuk would be the target if Beane is looking for an immediate trade.
  6. I don't think (or at least hope) the strategy isn't for the draft isn't decided yet. Far to long to count on either a WR or DT to be pegged for pick 28 and not fill either position if possible in the next couple of weeks. If that is the strategy I can see Beane doing that for 1rd WR due to the high number of Quality available this year, but not for DL. . Most experts I have read have it as a down year for DL with only a few having a 1st round grade. That is why I a warming to Armsted as an idea of adding. Beane has stated FA is to fill holes in order to go BPA in the draft and I'll assume that it still his operating strategy. Still plenty of time to add a starting Safety, 2 DL and WR 2/3 and go into the draft with no glaring holes.
  7. Got me curious 2020 draft. 2020 draft WR taken: 1) pick 11 Henry Ruggs III 2) pick 15 Jerry Juedy 3) pick 17 CeDee Lamb 4) pick 21 Jalen Regor 5) pick 22 Justin Jefferson 6) pick 25 Brandon Aiyuk 7) pick 33 Tee Higgins 8 pick 34 Michael Pitman https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2020/draft.htm Some good some bad... though I think it took a while for all of them to play at a consistent level.
  8. I see it as Diggs Kincaid Shakir ? Hollins vs Shorter vs Isabella vs Hamler vs additional FA. Vet min deal up to 3mil for Hollins doesn't guarantee he makes the roster. Mack is the replacement for Sheffeild in my mind, good SP gunner that can rotate in as a big outside WR if needed. I don't expect him to the primary outside WR role today.
  9. I assume Allen will get restructured... but looks like M Williams, Bosa and Mack will get released cause no one is trading for those contracts today. I wonder if there is offset language in those contracts like Russell Wilson had and they would be looking for 1 year min deals to rehab their value on a playoff team. Seems like ideal Beane specials to fill out the D-line and and outside WR. (and not hurt the Comp pick formula)
  10. IF we assume the plan is to use the 1st on a WR to eventually take over the #2 WR then Beane will be looking at a 1 year replacement to take Gabe's outside receiver role. Pretty hard to predict who that'll be with Buff salary cap limits but a few I've been eyeing that they have had interest in in the past would be DJ Chark, Beckem, or Samuel. I am also curious if they would look at MVS for a very low deal basically faster Gabe with worse hands. I know most would hate it but with all these guys the plan would be to ease in the 1st round rookie with average WR4 play behind Diggs, Kincade, and Shakir.
  11. More like the pipe nightmares?
  12. It is going to be an interesting how Beane address the #2 WR. For most of the year I had assumed Gabe who illustrates the process McDermott believes in would get an extension. The comments at the end of the year from Gabe and McBeane have me rethinking that is the plan (assuming Gabe doesn't take a huge discount). The last 1/2 year illustrated the need for a true field stretcher in the Smokey Brown archetype to keep Defenses honest. I am still comfortable with Diggs as the #1 and now Shakiir as #3/Slot. Kincaid will be a TE1 thus the bills are set with short and medium horizontal options. Shorter will get a shot to replace Gabe though will be the WR5 entering the season like replacing Sherfeild there and in special teams. Harty can return since he is under contract but the staff hasn't shown confidence in him playing WR snaps. I see the need for 2 additional WR one in the draft and one FA. I see many auto picking a 1st round WR and inserting him as the #2 starting WR week 1. While I would expect a WR in round 1 or 2 with them being that speed WR I don't think we could expect them to be a starter day 1. The Staff has consistently been hesitant to give rookies big roles to begin their careers, There isn't money to get a long term starter in free agency thus Beane will need to get creative. I will be very curious to see what veteran WR could be cut and looking for a 1 year deal to improve their final contract with Josh Allen as their QB. I would be looking at M. Williams, T. Lockett, M Thomas, or Odell Beckem to get a Bill's 1 year offer and complete the WR room. I get each of these players have flaws but wouldn't break the bank and allow for the WR draft pick to develop hopefully contribute later in the year and be a non-doubt starter in year 2.
  13. It is the NFL so the Steelers and/or Jags losing is very realistic I'm actually starting to lean it one will happen. Harbaugh and Vrabel aren't the type to gift a win to division foes. From a Bills perspective shouldn't matter. The players have been in must win mode since the bye and not for a playoff spot rather the division and Super Bowl. Beating the Dolphins Sunday has been circled on the calendar for the past 6 weeks without thought of losing an backing into the payoffs parachute. Sunday is simply a playoff game in my mind survive and move on.
  14. Yeah, doesn't move the needle but knows the system, cheap and already has the trust of McD. Levi should be on the field Sunday and I'd assume it'd be a swap of 6 for a 7th. I wouldn't like being their only move but a solid one if it happens.
  15. While the Bears would get one in 2025 draft they only get a comp pick if they don't sign other players next summer. They have a lot of cap space, multiple holes and ownership will want to win. I fully expect them to sign a bunch of players thus get nixing the potential comp pick.
  16. Which could signal the the move to a hurry-up temp style Buff played last Thursday is here to stay. The staff trusts Murray in the 2 minute drill more Cook and if they are going to deploy that more now then having a second RB who they leave in for all 3 downs could be the thinking. The offseason goal was to protect Josh adding Lenny F is inline with that and worth the no cost pickup. Any catches or improvements converting on 3 n 1's is gravy.
  17. Rumors Tenn wants to see Levis/Willis with competent players to fully evaluate them to see if they need a QB in the Draft. If they trade Henry and or Hopkins then they are at Carolina levels of supporting cast and really throwing Levis/Willis to the wolves behind a subpar line. Henry '& Hopkins at least will help keep the offense viable and threaten a defense. All that maybe to try to get a offer upped before Tuesday but I can understand why Tenn wouldn't trade Hopkins/Henry unless it is an overwhelming offer.
  18. I just read Albert Breer's Friday new column where he speculates on a number of players that could be available. https://www.si.com/nfl/2023/10/13/nfl-week-6-news-notes-trade-rumors-broncos-panthers-vikings-bengals One name that stuck out to me was Jeremy Chinn as a hybrid safety/linebacker to help fill Milano's spot and be insurance for Taron Johnson. Sounds like he fell out of favor with the new Defense and likely wouldn't be costly, I recall there were rumors Beane/McD liked Chinn in his draft and obviously there's the Carolina Panther to Buffalo pipeline.
  19. In the end Maholms and Reid are the reason the Chiefs win and if the Dolphins do it will be Tua and McDaniels. Not every move has worked when the Chiefs take these type of moves either. I genuinely am curious if the Chiefs would have made the trade for Toney for a 3rd today? I know many on here were up in arms that the Bills didn't make that move last October and Beane looks correct today. We'll see if a 3rd change in coaching helps Claypool he has had a few flashes on the field and some troubling actions on and off it. I don't see WR as a need for Buffalo now especially not since they have to pay 2mil of Claypools salary and not a culture fit.
  20. Couple of Elam's best games last year were vs the Dolphins, not like he's not familiar with playing them. I was thinking Elam would be active regardless of the Poyer news. His speed is the one aspect needed in this matchup. As for Poyer, it is a loss for sure. In my mind more for the communication and being in the right position. Having Poyer on a gimpy knee would have been a larger issue than playing Rapp/Hamilin/Neal. Rapp would have been signed to be Poyer's replacement if he would have left this summer thus the staff see him as good fit.
