  1. With the small sample size, we've been exposed to I'm trying to keep a positive perspective on Allen's future development. I just can shake my biggest fear with this kid, I'm seeing too many parallels with Locker. I know the supporting cast isn't great but we're not seeing much in terms of adjustment and reading what the D is going to give him. I support the others that advocate for taking another QB, not in the first round, but one in the 2-4 range if they see something special. I hope ego doesn't get in the way as it has with Peterman. The Redeskins did it with a guy they sold their souls for, Cousins was an insurance policy. WIth the line the way it is why is the OC not focusing on quick slants an out the backfield routes, or is Allen missing them? TEs and RBs seem to be the safety blankets for young QBs, we're not seeing it here. Those are two positions where the Bills actually talent. Who knows... Much of the pre-draft analysis on Locker looks like this below. It's hitting a little close to home. STRENGTHS: Locker is tall enough with a sturdy muscular build and excellent athleticism for the position. Has a rocket arm to make all the throws and fits the ball into tight windows. Shows the ability to scan the field and check down with very good touch. Extremely mobile and can make plays with his feet. Fierce competitor and leader. WEAKNESSES: Does not show the ability to consistently make his progressions and find the open man. Misses on too many throws and his accuracy can be erratic at times. Abandons the pass early and relies too much on his feet. Plays a bit recklessly and has missed a lot of games due to injury.
  2. Everyone is forgetting what Clement did in the Superbowl. 100+ receiving yards, as a rookie. He deserves a shot at 15+ carries. I think he fits the offense of Philadelphia better at this stage, he hits a hole and goes. The OL isn't good enough right now for a dancer. I wouldn't be surprised if no move at RB is made for Philadelphia.
  3. We'll see. Don't be gravedancing just yet. You could say the same for the Patriots for the past 5 years, 5 games in. Who's winning their division genius?
  4. He can thank David Tyree and Mario Manningham for not being run out of NY 10 years ago. He's never passed the eye test of being elite. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
  5. It's what people who make a living gathering NFL info are reporting. My take is this: 1. He's owed a lot of money. 2. How many teams have the money to fit him in this year? 3. He could be a rental 4. He has had a lot of touches in his short career (his primary concern too) 5. Locker room dynamic 6. When is he going to be ready to play? As talented as he is, not very many teams can make it work. If a 3rd can get it done and you've worked out contract details behind scenes, you pull the trigger.
  6. I had to laugh at "strength of the O". I get your point though
  7. I'd disagree, with reading the posts that go back 3+ weeks. Lots of McCoy fluffing here. I want him gone for a bag of balls if need be. He's not going to be here next year, let's move on. It's not ideal for Allen, but if he's the real deal he'll have to adapt. I'd like to see a move for possibly Duke Johnson. My personal bias is shining through, I know.
  8. I think the Eagles are using the Bills as leverage to get Bell. LaCanfora said about an hour ago on the radio, here, that a 3rd would likely get the Bell deal done. He's hearing the locker room Pitt isn't sure if Bell would be welcome back with open arms. That should wake a bunch of Bills fans up that think LM has 2nd-3rd value. Each week that passes the value/realistic ask drops. Howie isn't looking for a rental, he's looking for a 2-3 year option.
  9. Maclin is a true pro. I think we need that here. He can't be asking for too much...* Just read he wants no part of the team. Problem is, having a lot of cap room is great, but, a curse too. Most good/great players don't hit free agency and those that do have an *. The Bills don't have a core group of young talent worth re-upping now. It's bad enough that Buffalo has to overpay to get FA talent to consider playing there.
  10. Sadly most likely an upgrade over their current WRs. That move would fall more in line with the Cowboys though.
  11. You're a breath of fresh air on here. It's nice to know the board has fans that get it and see things outside the confines of western NY. Agree with you 100%
  12. Early reaction from some Eagle fans: Anyone Hear That FOP Guy On WIP This Morning? Does not want Shady here at all said Seth Williams the Ex DA who is in jail now possibly took bribes or was friendly with Shady to drop the case against him with the big nightclub fight in which police were involved. He said he stiffed bartenders and waitresses regularly and hung out with alot of bad people here and name was always brought up alot with police. It was an interesting take. There were actually times when I was glad he wasn't here anymore. Moving on from him wasn't a DJacc-level mistake, and didn't require a smear campaign. Who could forget this? DJ @DonaldTrump on the 1's and 2's . Special invited guests @RexRyan , @chipKelly ,@Rogergodell , my man Barack .oprah, Carli Llyod , and even that terrible waiter with the awful service from the burger joint is invited. 13. They won last year because of OL and DL, and subsequently, they're a year older and coming off a deep playoff run and struggling. You're correct, Clement and Smallwood could hold it down with a decent OL.
  14. All you have to do is listen to Jason Kelce's speech to figure out what happened to Howie during Chips run.
  15. No, the odds are better you've not subjected to the second rate local media covering the team. I love the Bills, but I find it painful how out of touch the fan base is, like a 2nd and a 3rd is possible. Pitchforks and torches should have been out on One Bills Drive 10 years ago. The ownership (mostly previous obviously) group has taken full advantage of this fan base. The Bills are the Browns "light", and in some part, we've let the oligarchs get away with feeding us a crappy product.
  16. I don't see the correlation? A transcendent player in his prime with many more years to create havoc vs. a guy with maybe a year left. I wish I lived in the la la land of local Bills fans. You guys need to get out more.
  17. They called to see if they were ready to throw in the towel and be taken advantage of. I don't consider a 5th rd pick worth it, a conditional one at that.
  18. He's on the wrong side of 30, owed a decent amount of money and a known scumbag around the league. No chance of the 3rd or a 4th. Too many of you are emotionally tied into the guy thinking he has value. I'm sorry to say he doesn't. I wish they could get what some of you think they could. It's entertaining how most of you are trading players like you're in Madden.
  19. John Clayton was on the air here. The best the Bills can hope for is a conditional 5th according to the experts and other former GMs. He doesn't have the value most of you think. Being the tallest little person at the circus doesn't increase his real-world value. Just keep him at this point to help develop Allen. Howie Roseman isn't a sucker. He's normally the one doing the fleecing.
  20. The guy is awful. Failed at both tackle positions. This would be one of those rare occasions with this team where we'd witness subtraction by addition if acquired.
  21. I agree with you 100%, that is why I never was in sell the farm mode to move up. We could have had the foundational building blocks to help put a young QB in a much better position. This team always seems to be in reactionary mode, never being proactive, or paving their own path. Maybe in 3-5 years, they'll realize the game has been rigged to be a passing league, but by then who knows where the focus will be? In one aspect I feel bad for this new leadership group because they're paying for the sins of their fathers, but in this NFL teams are turning it around in 1-2 seasons with good coaching and leadership from above. So after this year, they'll have no excuses.
  22. When we're four games and looking to dumpster dive, that sums up the life of a bills fan for the past 18 years. I firmly believe a contingent of intelligent fans that would partake in a democratic process of player selection and scouting would have done a far superior job than the revolving door of sub-par upper management that's gone through here. Too bad the Bills aren't like the Packers, we could have orchestrated a coup and set this team on track, or the very least improved the draft hit rate.
  23. I was out of town when Owens was with the Bills. I know he was injured during his year here, why did they not sign him past his one year? I always liked him. Even with his antics here in Philadelphia. Someone needed to call out McNabb and his passive aggressive ways. The guy was clean off the field, a little eccentric yes, but that's why the coaches and front office people are paid big $, to make the puzzle pieces fit. I thought he was going to be a good addition for the team and bring some national attention to the Bills.
  24. He covered him by default. Just because he was the #1 on the Bills, doesn't mean he was anywhere else. Stevie came up real small in some big spots.
