  1. 49 total yds in the half Goff looks like he may be 'on the spectrum'
  2. Cool take. I remember that first Rams Pats SB. Made a little $ that year. I still see Pats winning something like 27-20. I think Bellichek is going to pull out all of the stops to confuse Goff. I've seen him scheme against better QB/RB combos in the Super Bowl.
  3. Hey Aussie Joe. Nice to have a civil discussion and difference of opinion. Are you from Australia or have links to it? To be fair a guy like Gerald McCoy is not going to sign for peanuts. This is probably his last chance at a big contract. I could see him being a great fit for a team like Pittsburgh, KC or Indy. Teams that can win it all next year by adding a player or two on the defense. Our beloved Bills are a couple of years away. I'm a fan of rolling over free cap and bringing in 2-3 rookie classes with a new GM and see what you have before spending high money on 30+ guys who are short term solutions. Beane has only had one draft to let his work out. I'd rather have guys approaching 30 in 2-3 yrs than 30-32 now. IMO its a better way to build a team if OBD thinks they have the QB in place. We will have to see what OBD thinks. I've been a fan of Gerald McCoy, terrific DT. I just don't think he's the right guy right now for Buffalo.
  4. IMO the team is half baked, too many holes, even on defense. It's like rushing a dough when it still has to rise. Patience grasshopper. Making a few big money 'big splashes' this year on ageing guys will put the team in a cap mess in 2-4 yrs when Allen is hitting his stride. The guys OBD drafted last year, this year and next are the core on rookie contracts this team will be built on when Allen is ready. I feel better because guys like Jones/Foster/Edmunds and Wallace showed improvement this past season. If OBD can find a FA younger player or two in positions of need that is emerging or has been in the wrong scheme, then fine. But it seems like a lot of folks here would rather get some 30+ guys to fills holes now, not looking ahead 2-4 years. Draft, see where the picks failed (some will succeed) and then fill holes. If it were me I'd be going BPA all draft and getting OL/DL and WR this year while being open to trades down instead of a reaching in the draft.
  5. This ^ We don't need every other team's 30+ yr old guy taking up big cap space when the run is 2020 on. Keep building the core through the draft or through trades. Jordan Phillips, I like this guy. 26 yrs old, has an edge and a bit of nasty.
  6. Nailed it, the venom that some former players get is not warranted. Good guy, professional, made some jaw dropping plays, played with heart (like when he willed a win against Tennessee), helped break the streak. He was limited but some of the stuff you hear is really over the top.
  7. always considered Wilson and Gannon in the same class in the late 80's and 90's. Good journeymen QBs that can make a run if the rest of the team is good. Keenum and Foles remind me of them a bit. Either way 60 is young. RIP Wilson family.
  8. they were patient with him, he had plenty of choices. Will probably never be the guy, but could have a bit of an Alex Smith type career? So Washington and Miami need QBs?
  9. Mayfield was my favorite rookie QB going into the draft - had a super rookie season But Barkley earned it. Two good choices and both excellent candidates IMO
  10. I love the trade back with Washington so they can grab a QB and buffalo is still in top 15. Would be a terrific move.
  11. The key is to draft well, get a QB in place from the draft, keep your own good players, start winning. Not everyone who is in the NFL is from a big city, or a city/metro even as large as Buffalo. Some people don't want that press and exposure and just want to play football. Some do, Buffalo will not be for them. Have a plan, execute it, manage your cap and strike when guys like Khalil Mack, who loves Buffalo, is available. Winning or being in the conversation, taking care of your own and having a QB you can win with speaks volumes to a lot of guys.
  12. What I am impressed about with Josh Allen is how resilient he is. Had to start faster than planned Had poor weapons and line Took a pretty bad injury in first year Came back from injury and improved as the year went on Improved as he saw how Barkley and DA prepped for games and studied film Is working with Palmer to improve in the offseason Started making Zay Jones, Robert Foster and Croom better Made Oline look better by the end of the year He has real moxy. I don't think a conversation with Jimbo would hurt. JA could be the real deal. I think Jim Kelly sees it. There may be some vicarious living going on. Why not?
  13. for those who don't - in honor of the Rams and hopes they beat the Pats no wonder Robert Woods left Buffalo, he wanted to Ram it all night
  14. I take it you don't remember the Super Bowl Shuffle or Ram It
  15. I understand, I was out for 13 yrs, but moved back for elderly parents. 1.8 million New Yorkers have moved out of state since 2000.
  16. Green Bay ranked 32 in this ranking, the only team worse than Buffalo. So that is a commonality between our teams.
  17. We agree. My post was focused on sharing the whole story instead of spreading half truths like the OP to get a rise out of people. I don't blame any business for leaving New York given the political climate.
