Preseason Week 2 Bills at Bears - Game thread
ngbills replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Have the McD bills ever played a worse preseason game? Not sure it means anything…let’s hope not. Just awful. Like they don’t want to be out there. -

Why do we have preseason games? -
Cook signed👀 - 4 / 48 / 30 mil guaranteed
ngbills replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Huh. Confused by your rant. If the Bills traded cook many would be saying "he is replaceable" etc. The logic of this board for years has been the Bills dont need pay a RB. But because they do pay one anyone who questions it is trolling and has the worst take ever? If the Bills traded Cook and brought in Najee Harris or similar, how much do the super bowl odds change for the Bills? I am guessing not at all. I have nothing against Cook. I like the player and like him on the Bills. Much of what I said is he should be on the field more. I have no real problem with the money he got and only question could they have spent it elsewhere. -

It's not about production. Its about the use. He did not get a single snap with the Bills down 3 points and over 3:30 to go in the AFC championship. His last touch was with 9 minutes in the game. Decisions like that make it odd you are willing to pay this type of contract. I am all for limiting snaps, but that should not be in the most important parts of the most important games. As I said, its not about Cook being good enough to deserve this type of contract its the value of the contract with his use. Because of how the Bills used he only had 1200 total yards last year. They are winning games because Allen is on the field 100% of the time not because of Cook's snaps. Yes he helps but replacing him cheaper would not drastically change the Bills ability to win. -

Biggest issue is less about Cook more about how he is used. Barkley is on the field 80% of snaps Williams 90% CMC 80-90% (when healthy) Kamara 70% Taylor 60-70% Jacobs 60-70% Henry is 60% Cook is under 50% and only had one game above 60% all season. In 2 of the 3 playoff games he was at 45%. -
Preseason Week 2 - Post Updates Here

The Bishop pick is looking worse and worse. Especially when you look at some of the other DB's taken last year. Bullock and Kinchens both later picks as well. -
Preseason Week 1 Giants at Bills - Game thread

Giants guy on sidelines looked like he faked that he was gonna help Palmer then jumped away last second. Shady. -
Well the question is made an impact - which is not a super high bar... Robert Woods had a decent career Goodwin had a short good stint in SF Gilmore - multiple pro bowls Hughes - 9 sack season after leaving Darby - decent career Teller - all pro Philips - a number of solid years Z Jones - better after leaving L Thomas - became a solid TE Ray-Ray - created a niche for himself Singletary - solid RB Moss - Decent RB Morse - started all 17 games Feliciano - full time starter season after leaving Spain - full time start season after leaving Hodgins - Couldnt get on field to 7 td's in less than 2 seasons Edmunds - this will always be a debate Punt god - early but KC may have a long term punter

Chiefs George Karlaftis extended - 4 years, $93 Million
ngbills replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was going to say this somewhere else. The dead money has been huge for the Bills. And its not just the big ones, but the multiple smaller ones from guys like MVS, Smoot, A Johnson, etc that add up to millions. KC has very few of that stuff. -

Man the Chiefs do a good job of paying everyone somehow. With Mahomes and Kelce, they are still able to give big deals to Smith, Taylor, Jones, Humphrey and now Karlaftis. They have top 10 value contracts at QB, TE, T, G, C, DE, DT...a few of them top 3. -

Maxwell Hairston named in civil lawsuit for sexual assault
ngbills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Rashee Rice facing multiple felonies for a hit and run that 100% happened. No suspension until he is proven guilty. Hairston faces allegations from 2021 that was reported but never prosecuted. Would not be shocked if NFL says lets go ahead and put him on the inactive list and possibly suspend him. -
Bills sign Bosa and Tre White - lets celebrate. We are instantly better. Ravens sign Alexander - who cares. This does nothing for them, he will be hurt by week 9. $6M max for this guy is a good deal. Would have been worth the gamble.

How many wins do the Bills get without Josh?
ngbills replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
No Allen and its 5-6 wins. Allen carries a much bigger burden of the offense than any QB in the league. The running alone, whether short yardage 1st downs, redzone or scrambles would be hugely missed. Then the passing game relies on Allen adjusting, keeping plays alive or making throws only he makes. The offense lives on Allen's capabilities much more than a system that can perform with anyone. -
Well there are a few restrux still available to free up $. Another high risk / high reward move. Already have two of the high paid free agents missing half a year due to suspensions. Then you got Bosa who has a high probability of missing time, add in White and if the possibility of Alexander. The games missed per $ spend could be crazy...

Bills are returning 84% of their roster. Good for top 3 in the league. Given this, either players from last years team or current year free agents and draft picks will be cut. So we dont really know yet what the final roster will be. Looking at the moves I also dont think any of the signings is a guaranteed starter type of signing. Palmer - Most likely starter. Is he upgrade over Cooper? Or will he be quiet like many WR moves of the past. Hairston - Opportunity to start. But again, we have seen rookies not start. If he does is he an upgrade over Douglas? Bosa - Can he stay healthy? Is he better than Miller? DL - Will Sanders, Jackson, Walker earn some PT? Hoecht and Ogunjobi after missing half the season? Are these upgrades over guys like Phillips or Smoot as role players. Lots of potential and hope for some upgrades. But when your bringing back 84% of your roster and did not make splash moves in the offseason it is hard to say we obviously got better. My take is its less about us getting better and more that we are bringing back our entire OL and Josh Allen. The rest is a wait and see.

And his best year is 800 yards. Outside of Buffalo people see a 800 yard season an peanuts. If he goes off for 1200+ next year I think he makes the list.
-
But I was told many times that he has elite movements, body control and catching ability...

Why Landon Jackson is the next MONSTER in the NFL
ngbills replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall
His tape does not look good to me. His movements look awkward and slow. Reminds me of watching high school tape, a lot of thinking and not doing. Plays very high too and seems to lack explosiveness. Watching him you dont see a "beast" that is dominating the guy across from him, whether physically dominant, faster, smarter etc. -
Its the players not McD...
-
I am floored. Did we really just trade both our 2nd’s to make this pick?
-
Hopefully didn’t give up too much. Lots on the board.
