  1. As a Bucs fan and somewhat of an Edmunds hater, White is not in any way better than Edmunds. White has mostly been bad in the NFL and his mistakes were routinely covered up by Lavonte David, who is actually good. White is massively overpaid on his 5th year option.
  2. Needless to say this is a pretty brutal loss, particularly with how much it caught our staff off guard. They believed he was returning, and by all indications, it seemed like Jesse believed Jesse was returning too. Ultimately if I had to pick one player to come back next year it would easily be Judah, but this now makes me more nervous that Judah might be gone too and if that happens, the wheels could really start to come off. Perhaps we'll aggressively pursue Dickinson now, but my hopes on that front aren't super high. I do tend to believe Jesse would likely be less valuable in Autry's system than he was in Boeheim's though. It's possible, albeit very unlikely, that this could end up being okay for us.
  3. FWIW, I have a friend who is friends with one of Hunter's family members and they told me "It may be Georgetown". I don't know if it was meant in a "It may or may not be Georgetown wink wink" kinda way, but either way, seems like we shouldn't discount them. I saw someone else online was saying that word going around the Final Four was that it would come down to us and Georgetown so we shall see. He would obviously be a huuuuge get.
  4. No, if he signs the franchise tag (not an offer sheet), that means he's technically re-signing with Baltimore, and they could then trade him wherever they choose for whatever compensation they deem is enough. If he signs an offer sheet with another team and Baltimore decides not to match, then Baltimore would receive two 1st round picks. But if a team agrees to a trade with Baltimore, they can work around that requirement.
  5. Correct. A trade does not have to include two 1st round picks (though it probably should just from a trade value perspective).
  6. He can't be traded unless he signs the franchise tag/signs a new contract. Presumably any team that negotiates a trade for him would also be negotiating a new contract for him before the trade is executed.
  7. I'd be happy with Bijan in the 2nd or 3rd round (obviously unrealistic at those points in the draft). Selected none for the first round and nobody else for the 2nd or 3rd.
  8. It does say that. The QB position is weighted as 28% of the total team grade whereas the other offensive positions add up to a total of 30% of the team grade. If you have Excel, punch in the ratings and weights like I have below. The mathematical formula for the total grade is SUMPRODUCT(ratings,weights)/SUM(weights) to get your weighted average. To get the offensive team rating, you'd do the same thing except limit the SUMPRODUCT part of the equation to just the offensive positions. To get the defensive team rating, you'd do the same thing except limit the SUMPRODUCT part of the equation to just the defensive positions.
  9. I already explained that though. It's because of the significant gap in QBs and how heavily the QB position is weighted. With the way the positions are weighted for the weighted average, the QBs make up roughly half of the offense grade and the other offensive positions make up the other half. If you changed the QB grades to both be 3.0s, Dallas would have a higher offense grade by roughly 0.2, but because Burrow is graded so much higher than Dak, it's enough to give both teams roughly the same offensive grade.
  10. I think he was likely told he wouldn’t get many minutes this year regardless of Mintz. He might prefer playing a bench role for a title contender or being a starter somewhere else. Could be a pride thing too; can’t be easy returning for a 5th year just to give up the starting spot you’ve had all 4 years.
  11. Are you asking about how the math actually works or about why Burrow is a 3.8 vs. Dak being a 3.1 and stuff like that?
  12. I hope he finds success whereever he ends up next. He obviously won't be drafted in the NBA so I imagine he'll end up transferring somewhere. Curious to see where he lands. It's a shame he came to Syracuse at a time where our talent level was so low; I think if he were on the better teams of years past, he would have been a fan favorite for us but alas, that wasn't in the cards. Still hoping we get Judah back, but I think we'll likely have an upgraded guard rotation next season regardless.
  13. Nearly half the offense grade is determined by the QB where the Bengals are significantly higher than Dallas. It really just boils down to that.
  14. They do though; I literally recreated it myself. Offense/Defense/Total: Eagles - 2.028 / 0.8925 / 2.9205 Cowboys - 1.790 / 1.088 / 2.878 Bills - 1.526 / 1.3035 / 2.8295 Packers - 0.771 / 1.0725 / 1.8435 I can pull any other team you want but it all adds up. Not sure how familiar you are with Excel but it's very easy to set up.
  15. He does statistical projections as well but I don't believe those have been released yet.
  16. He uses a weighted average of the position rankings. If you apply the weights at the top of the chart to each position, the Eagles weighted average is 2.9 and the offense and defense grades (factoring in their proportion of the total grade) is a 2.0 and 0.9 respectively. I was able to easily recreate all of his offense/defense/total grades in a couple minutes in Excel.
  17. He answered a question about this basically saying it's based on a combination of salary distribution, % of snaps where that position is on the field, and common sense. Purely a guess on my part, but I would think for such broad ratings that he's probably at least in part using stuff like PFF grades to formulate the ratings. I'd be shocked if he's grading every player/unit purely on his own.
  18. I think technically he can and will hire an agent while maintaining his eligibility, or at least, some agent will represent him with the Combine/workouts. But yeah, he'll have until the end of May to decide if he wants to come back to school or not. I know the program is optimistic he'll be back, but we'll see. Just from some of the stuff his dad has said in the past and what I personally think his draft stock will actually be, I kinda wonder if we end up getting bad news on this front. I am selfishly hoping he doesn't like what he hears from NBA teams though lol. Edit: If the mock drafts are accurate and he's truly being viewed as a mid to late 2nd round pick, I think he'll return. He has lottery pick potential and we would probably offer to pay him more to stay than an NBA team would pay him that late in the draft. But if his draft stock is actually towards the back half of the first round like I suspect it may actually be, things will probably get dicey.
  19. Think it's more to do with the fact that Symir just wasn't going to find playing time here regardless. Even if Judah didn't come back, he'd be behind JJ, Copeland, and Taylor for minutes. But I am pretty optimistic about Judah returning.
  20. Now we wait to hear if Jesse and Bell are returning (and probably further down the line, Judah, as I assume he'll test the Draft waters before making his final decision).
  21. As someone that grew up a Bucs fan and still roots for Tampa, this would be awesome. Assuming this isn't the year that father time comes calling, David would be an upgrade over Edmunds at a cheaper price point.
  22. From what I heard, that was mostly just a courtesy to Autry/his parents trying to push him towards Syracuse but he had told a lot of people that he wanted to get away. Sounds like he's very interested this time around though/might be a done deal already.
  23. Both have incredible voices but mostly make music I'm just not all that interested in. I'll always appreciate Lady Gaga though because she wrote my mother a letter congratulating her on a milestone with her not-for-profit org.
  24. Unsurprisingly, a lot of buzz already that Syracuse will strongly pursue JJ Starling in the transfer portal. Already at least one expert prediction that they will ultimately land him. I haven't heard anything insider-y personally, but our interest in him obviously makes a lot of sense. Hopefully he's more interested in Syracuse now than he was coming out of high school; a potential starting backcourt of Mintz and JJ would be huge for us. Edit: I take that back; I have now heard some promising news re: JJ.
  25. Probably need Edwards to return as well or strike gold on transfers. Going from Edwards to Hima would be a gigantic downgrade and I’m not really sure anyone projected to be on our team is capable of being the 2nd best player on a top 25 team.
