Draft this guy. Seriously, what an arm. Lauleta
DCOrange replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Based on the games I've seen/mainly the Senior Bowl where he looked to have improved on his velocity, it seems like he can throw with pretty good velocity within 20 or so yards, but he puts a ton of air under it when he goes deep. I don't know enough to understand what could be driving the difference between the two. I suppose maybe he just does a better job of coordinating his footwork and throwing motion together on the shorter stuff but alters his mechanics a bit on the deep ball or something but I don't really know. I certainly think his deep ball, even with his good ball placement, will be tough to translate to the NFL. I think he has enough arm to make the short and intermediate throws though and his ball placement is good enough that he could be an effective starter IMO. Obviously his arm strength doesn't allow you to open up your playbook the way a guy like Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson could though. -
Who was the best QB of the drought?
DCOrange replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a collection of crappy QBs. Bledsoe's one season was probably the best, but the last two weren't very good. Tyrod was roughly average all 3 years here, which probably means he was the best. -

The number of threads dedicated to this guy is just a little bit much, but I'm very impressed with him; to me, he's the best QB in the draft after the Big 5 of Rosen, Darnold, Allen, Mayfield, and Lamar. Seeing his accuracy numbers and then pairing that with the velocity he showed at practice and in the game at the Senior Bowl, he seems to be a really talented passer. -
I'd say it's possible but I wouldn't be super confident on draft night that he's actually slipping that far. I'll say this though; 5 QBs have been taken in the top 20 exactly once in NFL history...there's a pretty decent chance that at least one of the big 5 slips to 21; I'd bet it's Mayfield or Lamar Jackson.

I solved the Bills QB problem and it was easy

There's a post on Reddit right now about how a guy drafted a kicker named Rich Fugger; cracked me up so much. The AI really is pretty brutal in that game; I play in an online franchise with 31 other guys and it's so much better that way. -
Which non QB do you want to draft most?
DCOrange replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If I could have anyone else in this draft regardless of draft position, it would probably be Roquon; I just think he's perfect for a McDermott defense. In terms of someone that I think Buffalo actually has a shot at and will be a very good player, I'd probably go with Vita Vea or Ronald Jones. I'd also love to see a guy like Jaylen Samuels just out of the curiosity of seeing how he's used in the NFL; likewise with Hercules Mata'afa. -

According to PFF: Lamar: 8.5% Mayfield: 8.0% Rosen: 7.5% Rudolph: 6.6% Allen: 4.8% Darnold: 4.3% -

Yeah, I think after Lamar, nobody was impacted as much by drops as Mayfield was in terms of drop %. I literally just took the numbers straight from PFF; I didn't make adjustments in terms of the overall adjusted completion %. I also think I threw that together before the bowl games. Edit: PFF has his adjusted completion percentage at 82.5% now. -

I don't know if it's possible to quantify it, but I've seen countless examples of Lamar staying in the pocket even when it gets congested; it seems to me like the overwhelming majority of his runs are designed runs rather than running away from pressure. His footwork is a bit of a mess though. -
Hate to say it...Tyrod will be back
DCOrange replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is kinda where I'm at too. The only free agent QB (aside from Cousins) that I think would be an upgrade over Tyrod is Bradford, but obviously health is a gigantic question with him. I definitely think there are upgrades available in the draft. But if we want the best veteran QB available, it's probably Tyrod. If you're content to paying a scrub like Derek Anderson to be the opening day starter and accept next season as a rebuilding year, that's fine. But if Buffalo is trying to win next season, I'm afraid Tyrod (plus hopefully one of the top 5 QB prospects) is likely the best choice. -

Lamar's actually my #1 in this year's class with Darnold #2. I think with his running ability, he can play early on and he has maybe the most potential in the class (probably between him and Allen, who I view as a longer shot to ever reach his potential). -

He's certainly no Peterman, but he's still a pretty solid QB.- 431 replies

Haven't you seen the reports about the beef between Belichick and Brady? Belichick is 100% going to trade Brady this offseason, and where did he trade his last incumbent starter to? Checkmate. Brady will be a Bill by August. -

Literally only because the WRs couldn't catch to save their lives this year. If you adjust for drops, Lamar's completion percentage was above Darnold and within 1% of Rosen and Rudolph. -

Vick was definitely faster, but there isn't a chance in hell that Lamar is anywhere near a 4.78 lol. I don't understand how someone that lives in the area and has watched him for 2 years can possibly think he's significantly slower than the likes of Andrew Luck, Connor Shaw, and Derek Carr. -

No effing chance that Lamar runs a 4.78.
