  1. The Boston jokes are cute but he's from Jersey. Went to Don Bosco prep who dominates every year around these parts. ?‍♂️
  2. Looks like he dominated his level. He's tall with long arms, big hands all that good stuff. So a projectable frame. It's a lotto ticket.
  3. I'd go Alec Ingold and David Sills but that's me.
  4. There used to be good info at nepatriotsdraft.com not sure if it's active anymore. Their last post was in June 2018
  5. The will trade a bunch of them so they can get into position to draft Trevor Lawrence in 2021 ?
  6. This is a special teams pick Imo. He will compete with Siran Neal who needs to take a step here this year.
  7. Joseph will push Milano imo. Remember that Corey Thompson started a game last year and was terrible. So they are upgrading with a guy who can actually play, not just a special teams guy. Really nice pick and great value if you are into that kind of thing.
  8. They changed that rule like 2 years ago. I think the pick we acquired to take Knox was a comp pick.
  9. Yeah I agree. Really highly recruited guy who has a had a weird journey, but he could be developed like a Jimmy G. Oh well.
  10. I think this a great point. But I do think it was BPA for reals. Oliver was clearly BPA on everyone's board and a huge need as well. They had their choice of a number of RT but Ford was the guy they wanted. They tried to trade back into the first for him and passed on other players at the same position. I believe he was BPA. Singeltary is a running back, not really a need, and there were a bunch of players of positions of need in the board at the time. And finally, he traded up for Knox as well, and a whole bunch of tight ends have been drafted since then. I don't think he would have been there in the 4th. He targeted guys and grabbed them. So Oliver and Singeltary had to be BPAs, and he went and got Ford and Knox. Yeah I remember arguing that air raid quarterbacks were reading a lot of coverages and making NFL level throws and that whole thing was a misconception.
  11. Hes also a former walk on and a former safety.
  12. I think he's a 3-4 inside backer. I don't think he is a great fit, but that's JMO.
  13. I still think he was drafting BPA though. And I think the Singeltary pick is a clear indication of that. It may not have been our BPA here, but I do believe it wa theirs.
  14. Somebody needs to help John with Twitter and character limits...but great points all around. Trading up in front of the Patriots and grabbing Knox tells me Beane is willing to move around the board and paying attention to what is going on, which is way different than what we are used to around here. Remember how how painful and confusing it was for Buddy to trade up for TJ Graham? It's like he did not know what he was doing. Beane is a pro. He gets it and he's smart. You may not always choose the right players, but how can anyone argue against the process? Let's see what the results are.
  15. His forty was reported as 4.54...I saw 4.57 somewhere too. But that's really good.
  16. I do think it's funny that people always say we need to go BPA and then complain when we don't draft for need. Beane said these guys were his BPA. That's good enough for me.
  17. Similar in size to guys like Geno Atkins, Warren Sapp. Sapp played at around 6-2, 300...but he was fat. Oliver is jacked. So Oliver at 6-2, 287 is good with me. Sapp is the prototype in terms of talent as a three Tech, but he was a sloppy body.
  18. I think they see a guy with a lot of athletic upside and a projectable frame. I feel like just has not been coached to this point. There is no refinement in his game. If he went to Iowa, or Wisconsin or something where they really train their tight ends, I think he would have been a first round pick. I think they see a moldable piece.
  19. 2 things for everyone... Beane said he's not trading Shady. That Shady is the starter. There is room for 4 RBs on the roster. The Patriots have been doing it for years and play the hot hand. Each will have a role and we won't have to rely on UDFAs off the street to fill in when there is an injury. Patrick DiMarco is a full back. He is a lead blocker. He is not a running back. These things are not the same. This roster will have a fullback on it.
  20. Here's some Alec Ingold. Another former quarterback. He smashes people and can run the ball. And catch it. We met with him at the combine. He's all process.
  21. I think he is on the hot seat, that they are bringing in competition and want him to earn his spot. That's good imo. He needed a push and a new line coach and we got both. If he doesn't win the competition at LT he's gone imo. I don't think they are just going to move him to guard. He deserves an opportunity to fight for his spot and I just can't fathom replacing my hand picked just turned 25 year old tackle with a soon to be 34 year old swing tackle tag who had a few nice blocks against Jadeveon Clowney. Dion has not yet proven that he can't play LT. He's been up and down. Yes he destroyed guys in his 6 plays at guard his rookie season, but that doesn't mean he is a guard. He has great feet and super long arms. The only think that screams guard is his height, and to me that doesn't matter much. Until Dion proves that he can't play tackle, don't move him.
  22. Everyone who wants a linebacker, I'm telling you Blake Cashman is this year's Matt Milano. Dude was a walk on, excelled on special teams and became a full time starter for Minnesota. He ran 4.5 at t combine. Love his game and he could back up at Will and Mike and wou push Milano a bit. He's 6-1, 237. Reminds me a bit of AJ Klein with more athleticism. I don't know if he makes it to our pick, but boy he's a great fit. He was one of the last visitors per @RyanTalbotBills
  23. I also think the fact that he is a former quarterback helps. Receivers who are former quarterbacks, like Edelman, Hines Ward, Trey Burton, Travis Kelce, Jordan Reed and to a lesser extent David Sills, are just smarter playe because they look at coverages and make pre snap adjustments the same way a quarterback does. They put themselves in the best position for their QBs becuase they understand where they need to be. They aren't just big dumbasses who can run fast....but you do need some of those as well.
