  1. That makes sense. I thought about making my Dareus a Phillips, but not sure if he is worthy of that yet.
  2. I don't think anyone is saying that. But Sills, Easley, and Jackson are guys who should have been drafted. And in Sills and Easley's case, they have as good a shot to make this team as all of the other guys competing for roles as wide receivers. Beasley, Brown, Foster, and probably Jones are locks. That leave possibly two spots. They have a shot. I think it's funny...all weekend we need to draft receivers because our receivers suck. Then we sign two receivers who should have been drafted, and they have no chance to make the team. So first our receivers suck, and now they are so good none of these guys has a chance to make the team. That seems to be the reaction on here. I'm not saying from you specifically, I'm just saying in general. Jackson has a shot to make it as a third quarterback as well.
  3. I always took it to mean that he has a bit extra motivation to prove a group of people wrong. Not that he is now motivated more, but it's just an extra goal I suppose. Sometimes that gives you a little extra push.
  4. Nope probably not. Most of them waste their money and we forget all about them, but this a boom or bust guy. He has a little more motivation to prove himself now. Will it happen? Who knows?
  5. That young and hungry guy out there imo is Shane Ray. He sticks out like a sore thumb in UFA. He had 8 sacks in 2016. He's a bit of a tweener, but so what? He's a little bigger than Eli Harold. I think he needs a shot to be a 4-3 defensive end. I'd give him a two year deal because he's the type of player who could replace Jerry Hughes. He has that kind of upside imo. I'm going to keep talking about Shane Ray until we sign him lol. Ray visited the Ravens and the and did not sign, so perhaps he is seeking too much money.
  6. The Zay thing I just don't understand. When you watch his college highlights and the Senior Bowl stuff, the way he ran routes and caught that ball is just so different than what he looks like now. He was crafty in his route running, he looked long and lean and made some spectacular catches. I just don't understand what happened to the guy, but I think he looks terrible in the NFL. Slow, can't catch, no RAC. Just looks like a completely different guy. I would trade him for a 4th because he seems like a guy who could use a change of scenery. That said, I'm not sure if they cut him. But this guys Easley is going to shine in practice and the preseason. They seem to like to have roles for their receivers. Beasley will be the slot. So Easley needs to beat out Ray Ray and McKenzie, as a backup slot, which I think is a realistic possibility. On the outside you have Brown and Foster with Zay and someone else. Duke, Sills etc. I think Andre Roberts has to be a seperate roster spot. I think you have to keep 6 and Roberts. Not sure if it is doable, but it will be an interesting cut down day for sure.
  7. I think DK is in a great spot. Being drafted a little later will probably put a chip on his shoulder and I hope he plays well for Seattle. Good luck to him. I am still glad we did not draft him in the top ten or the second round. Too much risk.
  8. Also, at 5'11, 203, he is not small. He obviously has seen the weight room before. This isn't a smurf slot player.
  9. He just seems like the kind of guy who makes it in the league because he can get open, and apparently has some elite athletic ability.
  10. The one thing that does not make sense there is Carolina trying to trade up for Ford. They drafted Greg Little right before us.
  11. David Sills is getting a lot of love on the board and rightfully so. I figure I'd start a topic on Nick Easley. The dude is a slot receiver and he is very Cole Beasley like. Here is some stuff I dug up: The route in the second video is just sick movement, agility, and body awareness. Cover1 called him "crafty." Outback Bowl MVP in a game full of stars: I wanted to give Easley some love here, but a former walk on who also looks like he could possibly stick as a backup slot to Cole Beasley.
  12. That's the way to go. I bought a Kelly and an Andre Reed for the same reasons. Stuck with a Bledsoe, McGahee, Poz, Dareus, Watkins.
  13. I like the way that 88 looks and I can't wait to see Oliver in uniform. I hate buying jerseys but may need to get an Oliver.
  14. Im higher on Spencer Long than a lot of people here, except for a few. He can play, and to me he is not a natural center. He started at right guard for three years at Nebraska before he was a third round pick. He's a really strong phone booth player, he isn't about quickness. He sat the bench in Washington for a year and was penciled in as their starting right guard. After drafting Brandon Scherff in the top ten to play RT, they decided to move Scherff to guard where he beat out Long. After that, Washington converted him to center and he played well which led to a big contract with the Jets. He struggled playing for O line coach Rick Dennison, and he was injured. He is not a zone player. It was a poor match from the start. I believe that the Bills need to let him compete at RG where he is most comfortable and let him play to his strengths. I think he wins then RG spot, and I believe Quinton Spain will be the left guard. I think Feliciano has a shot, but I don't think he is as talented as the others. Both Feliciano and Long can play center, though neither are natural centers.
  15. That's how I always understood it. And that he doe t have a body for NFL now but he hasn't a good enough frame where he get add some size to it. Add muscle like you said.
  16. It was like 6 plays. He played really well at left tackle, well enough for this regime to trade Corey Glenn when he was next to a competent guard and good center. Having Morse on the line, a better lg next to him, and a new offensive line coach will do wonders for him. He will be fine at LT imo.
  17. If anyone listened to Beane's presser last night, I would say that they still have Dawkins penciled in as the starter at LT. Which agree with. I assume that they were unhappy with his play at the end of the season and after Bobby Johnson watched film, Johnson must feel he can help Dion. Dawkins is very naturally gifted with long arms and good agility. He's a left tackle until he proves he can't do it.
  18. Same. I have a problem with receivers who bobble the ball, double clutch and trip over themselves at 8 yards, making it 4th and 1. We have one of those already.
  19. I was thinking about this as well. I think he did not get the offers he thought he would in the first phase of free agency. After that I think he was really smart to take the best deal he could before the draft. All those dudes out there in free agency who did not take deals before the draft are going to have an even harder finding a job now. So I think tat is why Spain took a lowball deal. As to why there was little interest? Who knows. Stuff like that happens all of the time and guys fall through the cracks.
  20. McDermott has praised DiMarco's leadership and work ethic every single chance he gets. He was a team captain last year as well. McDermott lives him. I hope that his play improves with more power type offense this year. Though I do think we will see a lot of two tight end sets, so less fullback.
  21. Dawkins-Spain-Morse-Long-Ford Agree with Gunner 100%. Feliciano is a coach Johnson guy, but I think Long is the more talented player. Who ever loses the job becomes the main interior backup. Feliciano can also play center. That said, I think it makes some sense to keep Bodine on the roster as the backup center so that Feliciano and Long can focus on being guards. People are definitely sleeping on Long. Nsehke will will be the swing. People need to get off the Dawkins to guard bandwagon. Beane said in his presser that they will have Dawkins at LT that they will try Ford at RT and that he's could also play guard, and the Nsehke gives them some felxibilty becuase he can play both left and right tackle,He said the best two tackles will start, acknowledging that Ford cannot play right. He did not mention Waddle. So in theory the only way all three of those guys starts is if Ford moves to guard...At least in the eyes of Beane. Our regime wants Dawkins and Ford to be the starting tackles imo.
  22. He is long, tall, long arms etc, but he hasn't lifted a ton of weights. You can kind of see that if he adds like 20 lbs of muscle he will gave an NFL body. Right now, he doesn't, and Beane said as much in his presser.
  23. They said in the story he had been introduced to Matt Barkley a while back. Maybe Matt helped recruiting. Btw Barkley is a great guy and I'm glad he is on the team.
  24. Just to add on Shane Ray, he is similar to Jerry Hughes. Similiar in size and story. He's a 4-3 defensive end who got forced into a 3-4 OLB conversion becuase of his lack of size and never really developed. The dude is 25 years old and I think there is still upside if he's allowed to just be a defensive end. He was known for his blazing fast quick step and I feel like he is a guy who has something to prove. That's the move I would make on the defensive line. I like Shaq. I just don't see them picking up the fifth year option which is a great indication that they don't really want him long term.
