Pettine is not the best example. He was not a crazy good candidate. Was seen as an odd hire at the time. I agree, they will find someone. That someone will likely be perceived as a dark horse or guy who is desperate or on some second chance. Maybe a guy like Doug Marrone.

I disagree. But let me say, I think CFB will shift to allow some point failed NFL players to come back to the CFB ranks. I'm in a competent NFL caliber GM/ coach/ OC , my best route- I stay the fudge away from Woody Johnson and the NY Jets.

I've always felt it's this giant lie that you can throw it deep with a strong arm quarterback in the cold like man look at the old cold weather games. They throw screen passes 90% of the time.

My impression real time of the D was we played solid, just missed a couple rushes and Maye was just on point, and some key throwaways where a rookie usually makes dumber decisions.

Man, I don't get hyping the notion it was an in game rivalry. There was just poor play from us and at times excellent from NE. In the end, these are the same mistakes we've seen before. Could not stop the run....at least for a stretch. We got run over on those first two drives. Same problems. Plus, Maye was insane. He was throwing darts all over and making great heady plays when pressured to ditch the ball and avoid sacks. Our brand of D struggles against solid QBs. I know some folks will boast we adjusted, but see Ravens , Texans, and Rams game to say the damage can be done against better teams. We had poor play calling in this one. Again, this is always what happens when we struggle. Ditched short passes in Lieu of deeper lower percentage plays. It's Brady 's bane. Then in cold WRs had drops or Josh was off. We seemed affected by cold.

I think we would have faired better if early in, we would have been more focused on running and short YAC focused catches. Did not overall like Brady's playcalling tonight.

Impressed by Maye. He's going to be trouble. Gritty win. Felt like the Bills slept walked through this one.

We are going for too much. Just run short pass and drive the field.

Our D is just lousy

My thoughts are, Bills will move the ball and score 30+ but God knows what the defense will do. I feel in my gut D will play a lot better. I think Lions have an outrageous offense, but I'm not sure we will see such a mistake free game. This is going to sound crazy, but I don't think the Lions are better than the Rams right now. I feel that Rams team in their home dome , healthy, is better right now than a beat up Lions team.
