  1. I don't know. They apparently like him a lot more than you do. Teams make dumb mistakes all the time. Fans have misinformed opinions all the time. Let's revisit which is the case in a year.
  2. Competing in the NFL is often more about what you don't have. We could take all 32 draft picks 1st round in any given draft throw in 23 fill-in college role players (Clemson and Alabama have a TON of starters and role players that can't compete and don't belong in the NFL) Those 23 guys are going to get crushed against an NFL team. Clemson Bama could have an all-pro LT. Cool. Shaq is going to feast on the RT going nowhere. And Hughes is a wash against his tackle at worst. He'll give the guy trouble for sure. They could have a stud RB and 3/5 stud linemen. Those 2 that don't belong are going to be eaten by Phillips every other play. We see it with Jordan Mills against better rushers in the league. And Mills at least belongs in the NFL. He's still a liability for us. It'd be so easy to game plan for what a college team is weak at. Because every single NFL player on any team would crush that matchup.. a college team couldn't possibly execute plays if they only have a handful of guys that can beat an NFL matchup and too many that can't. If Mills vs Bosa is heading our way, we're devoting a whole offensive game plan around that one matchup. Imagine if we had Mills vs Bosa caliber in 5/11 offensive matchups. That's what a college team is up against. They'd be lucky to get a first down. Their good players are a wash against NFL. Their bad players are losing the game for them no matter what.
  3. well said. However the Mahomes thing is as beaten to death as it can be. Damage is already done as he's getting MVP. I like seeing young guys take the mantle from the old guard so.. Rivers, you had your chance, go retire. Drew, we get it, you're a HOFer with a ridiculous amount of 5000 yard seasons. You got your bowl, go retire. Tom, keep playing to embarrass yourself, and STOP WINNING SBs.. or go retire, either way. Cowboys, I never liked you or your fans.. but Dak and Zeke would be fun SB champs. Eagles, you have no business squeezing another SB run out of Nick. Eagles don't deserve it, but it would be fun if Nick does it again, would make one of the most noteworthy NFL stories of this modern era. A 30 for 30 for sure. Mahomes, and Goff: shine babies shine. Kick out the old guard and let's get the NFL QB elites out of the picture. Luck: I want you to win it the most since so many idiots were jumping on the bust label. Go get em tiger.

  5. "even though our offense looked bad. When you REALLY examined it.. it was even worse" hahaha that's a great way to put it. The offense truly was worse than what the eye test showed. And the eye test wasn't pretty. JA will benefit just as much from a real NFL rushing threat backing him up as receivers and pass blocking. They really all need to be fixed. I think correcting run blocking to improve from.. worst in the league.. to passable, and getting a blueblood RB under 30 (why get Ivory.. ugh too old) through draft or FA is the first easiest fix really. Since we're so bad at that, it's not that hard to improve. And I think Shady has more in the tank but he should be getting 40% if we truly find a better talent at RB. Even improving run blocking and Shady will be servicable. But we really should get a better RB to get the lions share of carries and be less injury prone.
  6. I wouldn't underplay the synergy a good RB gives you. It's not like Connor is a bum in his own regard anyway. He's a very good runningback. But I think the OL sets the bare minimum you should get, and the more talented runningbacks in the league gets 500 above that minimum. You switch Connor and Zeke and I'll bet Zeke still gets the rushing title. Dime a dozen to get a decent YPA and season yards from a great line sure.. but Zeke on any team gets 400-500 more yards than most of the guys in the league. A great OL has the same effect.. attributing to some 1000 floor for a Bell cow RB. It's just like anything in the NFL, you have a subpar "dime a dozen" runningback you're clearly limiting your rushing game regardless of who's blocking. You have a rushing combo of Zeke and Cowboys OL you see why they win games largely from their homerun rushing threat alone. You have a dime a dozen RB and Cowboys OL you'll have a 1000 yard rusher and probably struggle without a reliable redzone rusher or home run hitter, and don't have nearly the success Dallas had this season. Dallas doesn't make the playoffs without Zeke. Good runningbacks are valuable. Ask Philly if they'd like one. RB has been their injury bugged Achilles heel all year. Not quite as big a factor as OL, but you also don't have to pay big bucks for all 5 guys when a guy of Barkley's talent covers flaws. We had a much better line with Cogs and healthy Glenn and Wood, but it was nothing to write home about. Shady made the rushing attack even more formidable. He frustrated and opened up defenses where his one-cut backups Karlos and Gilly did serious damage any given play.
  7. I thought our OLine was a bit more detrimental in run blocking than pass blocking. Even if you consider our runningbacks to be subpar (I don't think Shady was as bad as we put on.. should have another year in him, and he did break some solid classic Shady 10 yard gains, many of which were called back for holding) they still should have had better production but for fault of the O-Line. I'm not one to say any O-Line is entirely responsible for an RB's production. I think they simply set a reasonable floor for what any starting caliber RB can do. Great OL in a balanced offense should at least have 1000 yards rushing from the RB1. It's Zeke and Gurley and Bell's talent that makes them rushing leaders, reliable redzone players, and reception yards to lead in yards from scrimmage. It's ridiculous to say Ford from our roster would be anywhere near Zeke's number if he played on the Cowboys as a Bell cow. But that OL will give him at least a 1000 yard season if he has the prerequisite bare minimum NFL RB vision, acceleration, yards after contact. So for our runningbacks to be at 3.5 YPA combined (removing JA's ridiculous 630 yards on 89 attempts) is horrible on the OL. Horrible for our team offensively. I ask a bare minimum 4.0 from subpar OL play alone. And the talent of the RB could make that anywhere from 4.0 to 5.0. Seems like getting a basic improvement at least rushing wise is easier and cheaper than a noticeable pass protection is. At the very least our offense would open up and be much more dynamic if we improve run blocking to be just decent. Obviously they're not great at either but I'd prioritize getting a running game established on this roster first.
  8. Many people have made that take haha. Plus he's capable of being the best. We saw what a force he was his MVP year. Defenders definitely haven't forgotten gameplanning the QB that had the capability to smash their linebackers into oblivion for 4 quarters. Dunno if he ever gets back to that but he's anywhere from #12-#1 any given year. I think Cam plays best and Ron Rivera is best served running Cam into the ground while he still is in his athletic prime. He can take the beating, but limiting from what he did best in 2014 is taking away his physical advantages from him. Cam trucking LBs and dealing out punishment is a far safer play than getting rocked from his blindside in the pocket. I'd say the same thing about JA. And idk why we don't notice he clearly struggled due to injury this year.. directly killing the Panthers as he broke down. He got shut down for a reas on this year as he could barely throw the ball 30 yards. Cam in his last few games wasn't regular ole Cam. He was gimping to get the panthers any chance at playoffs because even 30% Cam was still better than any other option lol.
  9. Fournette is leagues better than Trent. Literally. He'll last far longer in the NFL than Trent's 3-4 year rapid outting. Trent isn't NFL talent. Dude can't even run straight.. through a hole. His lack of ball carrier vision was mind boggling. Fournette's got injury and attitude issues. But he at least belongs. No way he's out of the NFL for lack of talent in the near future. Probably drafted too high, but that's where the comparison ends. At the very worst he'll carve out a Blount-like journeyman role to any team that needs a strong cheap plug in their running game as a 1-3 year's rental. He's more Blount 2.0
  10. Haha that must mean he has a good throwing numbers beyond the line of scrimmage. He had a bad Lions game certainly. Albeit Daboll did poorly as well. But that game is over by the half against any legit playoff team. Hence why we lost against pretty much all the playoff teams this year. He's got me excited. But he's got to get much better and much more consistent. Early and late in the game. Big Allen fan but not so much Beane. Dude better get JA these weapons, Daboll drill in a good scheme. But otherwise I haven't seen either of the two give this to JA so far (and not for lack of trying aka Kelvin-worth-3rd) Cap space don't mean jack if Beane spends it all on 2014 Panthers
  11. Nope. Vegas odds makers apparently know their craft when it comes to intraleague contests. As I was informed oh so often. Apparently Alabama has a couple of players going pro! Wowee I wonder how many Bills will go pro. Oh wait 100%? Still betting the over on 80 point spread smh. These geniuses had a 4:1 odds for Mayweather over McGregor. For da gamblers.. bet all you:re willing to spend on the favorite in Vegas intraleague Gamble's. I literally put all the dime I was allowed to on Mayweather on that 4:1 odds lol
  12. Why shouldn't we trade those young pieces for a 23-24 year old MVP Quarterback? And why would the Chiefs even think about making that trade either lol. Dumb article. 28 teams in the NFL would trade a crapload of their high year 1-2 draft picks for Mahomes in a heartbeat.
  13. Well I hate that fact repeated twice haha Just pointing out what I want to see his highlights show more of that next year and the year following. I want to see some bowling ball MLB plays. He'll be an incredible MLB if he starts doing more of that.
  14. Nah I'm not talking about big hits at all. I'm talking about aggressiveness to the ball, not reckless tackling. I love how he wraps up. Sure I saw a lot great one on one tackles, but I want to see him be closer to the ball on running downs when there's a lot of traffic. He tends to stay back to avoid down field blockers and keep an eye on the carrier rather than attacking. I immediately looked at his highlights and looked at other linebacker highlights. These guys look like bowling balls on screens, running plays with tons of blockers. Would be really the crucial plays Edmunds needs in his highlight arsenal. I don't think he can't improve. But that's not necessarily always something everybody gets. Just a nose for the ball, getting dirty, fighting through traffic. That kind of aggression could show up, but it also takes a little crazy... If not, I'd like to see him at OLB and have a more.. maniac MLB. Just an attribute I find necessary to at the position. Not big hits, I don't care for the money shot at all, but I do want to see better instincts, decisiveness, aggression.
  15. I think he does all that very well. I just, for lack of a better term, need to see him with more dog in him. Elite MLB aggressiveness at that position is probably the most important trait over all the other skills you mentioned. He looks like a great finesse linebacker, and maybe he'll hit his potential as he gets older or coached up. But he needs to be getting his hands dirty. I want to see him disappear in a cluster**** of rushing blockers to stop a runner. MLB's need to be a little crazy. This highlight video shows all the things you mentioned spot on, but the mental aspect is lacking. I don't see more than maybe one play that shows flat out aggression we saw from someone like London Fletcher who had none of those physical talents but was a straight up maniac.
  16. WHOA. Darious Leonard?!?! That guy's All-Pro dominating playoff games already. Best of the bunch by a mile.
  17. Worst Superbowl performance ever by a linebacker with a broken arm smh.
  18. When I see the Eagles play I wish we still had Bradham. Peters would be gravy, he's obviously outperformed, even outlasted Glenn.. but I forgot the circumstances regarding Bradham. I know it was the scheme change but it looked like we just chose Preston Brown over Bradham.. probably for the rookie contract. Bradham is clearly better. Not a game changer to that defense but a clear cog in that machine when they're firing on all cylinders, Bradham looks like a monster, similar to how he did with a similarly dominant line in 2014. Wouldn't mind a Zach Brown either for depth but I can see the money there. Worst thing that ever happened to us was getting Wrexed by that damn scheme change. There's so many domino effects. The players we might have kept. Draft picks we wouldn't waste. We could have a Jaylon Smith or Myles Jack. ****. Rex. Ryan. Good god did he set us back. Complain about Whaley all we want, but he had to toss a bunch of defensive talent and draft for Rex's guys right before the ship went down.. the last 2 drafts of him pre-McDermott were absolutely horrible. Peters would be nice to have. Eagles sure like their Bills. Why can't we ever get nice things . Just let the stars align for once McBeane and start accumulating and retaining the right talent for once in this century lol.
  19. I think Salt Lake is a cooler regional name. Salt Lake spice or most anything rolls off the tongue nicely.. except jazz. Let it go Utah Music City Retribution
  20. Nice I like it. Only drawback is it could be interpreted as some immasculine word. Not trying to be homophobic but that's huge for marketing and players dealing with fans that don't get it haha. Just sounds like a WNBA team. Then again the Orlando Magic gets by alright. Utah.. miners? Screw it. Spice is cool. Super original. You need to apply for marketing jobs man you got a talent. Pretty cool thing to be known for
  21. Apparently it's from the 60s and drug culture. That makes sense now haha doy. Must have been old stoner movies I've seen and funny slang growing up but I guess there's definitely nothing wrong with not knowing it. Jones street Manhattan methheads baby!
  22. It's a dope name.. for New Orleans not Utah haha. Then again I can't think of a cool name for a Utah team other than some Mormon joke so.. sorry Utah guy I think most people only know Utah for one thing.. and they brought a name from one of the coolest cities in America. Only thing that annoys me is they hogged the name so the New Orleans expansion team became the Pelicans for some dumb reason. So many cool names to work with and they're the damn Pelicans. I suppose that'll grind my gears more than anything on this subject is teams not letting their name go if they change. I want to say the Titans wouldn't let any team name themselves the Oilers. THAT'S SUCH A COOL NAME FOR HOUSTON! Oilers and Rockets Texans is such a lame name. I like topical names that bring your city culture to the public eye and give all the more reason for pride, not random ones.. WHAT'S UP WITH ALL THOSE TIGERS IN CINCINNATI?!? Best names in NFL are 49ers, Packers, Steelers, Bills, Saints, Patriots, Ravens (NAMED AFTER EDGAR ALLEN POE!!!) Oilers was a fantastic name.
  23. Many are still alive haha. They can associate with whoever they want. And the team they retired with is the team on their career record books. I'm sure any player that wants his banner retired, number hung up, franchise records etc. would prefer it to be with the more storied franchise. If not I doubt any team other than MAYBE the Browns should get credit for the players whatsoever. If they don't like it welp.. they had crappy owners. Join the several thousands of salty fans that feel the same way. Outside of formal franchise acheivements, nothing's stopping these Oilers from being otherwise entrenched with the Texans franchise and their old Houston fans.. I'm sure Texans and other likewise expansion teams would love that. I don't know how much more anybody should care about this. Life happens. Businesses move and sometimes it sucks for the trivial complaint that the team everybody knows a player identifies with isn't currently a team in the specific city they played in anymore.
  24. They're always screwing over the Bills primetime game slots never showing SNF in Texas. The national media has it out for us. It's week 18 for Pete's sake. Show the bills game!
