  1. To a certain extent no. But he's proven without a shadow of a doubt he's a great QB. I don't buy the argument he wouldn't be recognized as a really good QB anywhere in the league. He's proven he's a stud. We know Brees on the Bills or any other team would be Brees.. really damn good. Mahomes on the Bills or any other team would be Mahomes. Super good 2nd year Quarterback. Any other team wouldn't have the numbers or wins the Chiefs have. Many would look like Brees or Rivers have looked on their 6-10 seasons. I'm just saying he never was not going to be Mahomes. Chiefs didn't create him in a lab. But they gave him really good toys to let him play to be MVP. Otherwise I don't care to complain about not having him just as you don't.. I just really want to stress he's that good. I hope JA is established as pretty darn good by next year too
  2. Why does Watkins have to be bad. He's underacheived in his career, injury plagued, and overpaid due to said injuries.. but dangit he's pretty good when on the field. We should recognize that given what we have. That is Watkins. I'll return the floor for everyone to discuss the fine points of how bad or good he is and how that reflects on whatever spin you want to put on past and present Bills management lol. Just like the ***** Rosen thread or any other player thread
  3. Ya know. You really live up to your name sake. SHUT UP. SHUT UP ABOUT MCBEANE HATERS. haha. Who TF is pining for Dareus?? Also I hear more people complaining about people complaining about McBeane than I do people complaining about McBeane. We just make the board believe there's this legion of McBeane haters when you keep mentioning them.
  4. I always found it to be very dependent on the Quarterback. Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers never found Graham at his full potential like Brees did. He's more than a redzone target. But those guys just don't use them as safety blankets like others do. Mahomes uses Kelce perfectly. I'm sure the coordinator has some influence here, but good Quarterbacks prefer an RB or slot check down over a TE safety blanket. I think Wentz and Nick Foles is a good example. Ertz breaks the record for TE catches, mostly from Wentz. The RBs get a massive spike in recieving yards from Foles. I'd take TE certainly rounds 2-7 with that in mind. I'd suspect JA prefers throwing darts to a safety blanket TEs, and I know he doesn't like checking down to RBs lol. A good handsy tight end would help JA in his short game as he needs a guy to catch his passes from short range. He's more accurate when he doesn't have to throw a touch pass. I think a good Witten type, doesn't need to be fast, to just navigate the zone and stay open for a 3-4 yard catch would go a long way. Obviously getting a Kelce is awesome.. I just find teams completely miss the TE position so often. Ebron early in his career was considered a bust who was phased out to just blocking (again maybe that's Stafford vs Luck). Jermaine Gresham, Vernon Davis didn't have many good years but the light did switch on eventually. They seem to bust at a much higher rate in the first round than other positions. I don't really understand why. Seems physical tools are overvalued when they should just be treated as a type of receiver. That and the fact that JA might not look his TEs way or like those routes or we don't have an OC that can get the TE invloved makes me hesitate to draft him high, but TEs are great to have if they are studs and involved in the offense. I'd address WR first but no qualms drafting a TE somewhere. I liked O'Leary FWIW.. had better hands and route running than most of the dudes we had last year. I'd get a TE in FA. We have the cap and I think that's a position suited to acquire in FA and test the waters with meshing with JA.
  5. He'd be a really good Quarterback anywhere. Because he is one lol. He just wouldn't be MVP... yet
  6. Why aren't the Colts running. Marlon Mack is a stud. Chiefs are among the worst stopping the run. Falling into the old trap you have to start the shootout early I guess. It's a tough job for Frank Reich when he immediately sees his great defense is about to get run train on for several quarters.
  7. Glad we'll get to watch him for the next 15 years. He's going to make football very entertaining
  8. I love watching an MVP in the playoffs. We're in for a treat.
  9. I mean c'mon.. kids at Clemson don't even wear their socks long enough. You're telling me that can cover the spread.
  10. Tough as nails and has a shot to be a real iron Man following his early injuries too. I can respect Stat Padford. Many franchises would be lucky to have him. Not a curse at all. Detroit just hasn't had a good team. Honestly.. when hasn't he been their best player since Megatron left.
  11. Not insane if you... Trust them. ye doubting thomas. **** this poll was public. It's a process trap!
  12. WHOA. Their approval rating is almost identical!
  13. There's 25% at best that won't! Against a team with 0% of guys that don't cut it.
  14. Cmon that's not the point. If 75% of Bama is NFL talent (it never is 4 years later) then Bama has .05%.. or whatever feeding into the NFL. They're facing.. the other guys not on Bama lol. They're playing teams with 100% NFL talent: NFL teams. Doesn't even matter. If I generously gave you 75% NFL caliber the 25% is going to lose the game! It's what you don't have! Starpower doesn't mean squat if you have 25% matchup nightmares. Underdog NFL teams prep for maybe 2 to game plan. Try 5. They're dead. Imagine.. Tre White on Andre Holmes, Bosa on Mills, Kuechly man on Kieth Ford, Donald on Bodine.. THAT TEAM LOSES. And the talent disparity is absolutely magnified when you take an average NFL player like Mills against some nobody edge setter. I'd run Ivory on that side every play lol. Honestly I think you guys are trolling haha.
  15. Because it doesn't preclude me from saying the best teams in a farm system league that feeds 5% of its top talent into the NFL would face a matchup nightmare. I watch enough college football. And can be objective about how good they are. I'm telling you why I prefer the NFL. This is 2015 Alabama front 7. Give them all the talent you want but this front 7 gets nailed in the NFL. Bad depth 4 years from now you'll see the same picture of this year's Clemson and Alabama teams. Dudes you've never heard of. If Clemson or Alabama went against the best of the rest in college: Defensive Josh Allen, Nick Bosa, Ed Oliver.. they'd get toasted. Take like.. the big 10 and big 12 all star team and they'd wreck those 2 teams. Guess what.. those guys are getting in the NFL too. I watch big 12 football, mostly just Texas games. And the all Big12 team would wreck Clemson and Bama.
  16. I don't need to watch college football intensively lol. It's fun but I don't watch much of it because the product is noticeable worse talent wise than any NFL game. That championship game didn't look like an NFL game! It looked like NFL players with ankle weights on early off season all 50-100 pounds underweight. Same reason I have a hard time getting up for Syracuse games watching crappy jump shots. I may be wrong in my exaggeration of how many aren't going to be servicable NFL players. But I seriously doubt their entire starting 22 are going to be career NFL career players. If I spotted you all but the.. C, LG, TE, RE, FS.. literally just 5 players that don't belong. NFL coaches would feast on that. You need DEPTH! Infinitely more important than star power in a 53 man roster. Seriously. Take an old first round draft class and make a team of that. Fill the rest with UDFAs that never latched onto the NFL team and I'll show you a really crappy team. We could have all the available former first rounders you want and we'd be a worse team re-sign Vince Young and Reggie Bush and the rest.. the dream team right? But we don't. Cause we're better off with our guys.
  17. Much love DtD ?. There will always be a part of PetermanThrew5Picks in me. The loveable curmudgeon that drunkenly felt the need to create an account the second half of last year's Chargers game and spam the specter of organizational incompetence that brought a negative Peterman cloud to my character. That Chargers game will always be the pivotal disillusionment in my Bills fandom. A loss of innocence if you will. (also to be the SaviorPete antogonist the world needed. LOOK AT ME NOW SAVIOR PETE!! If Peterman was Jesus than I was the Antichrist.) but with Peterman finally gone I'm a changed man. I've faced trials and tribulations, an identity crisis and was a wayward soul until Barkley restored my faith in the Bills backup Quarterback position. I will take the mantle as board authority on backup Bills Quarterbacks. I may not know much. I may speak authoritatively on things I know nothing about with absolutely no fact checking (facts are for nerds) But if I've learned anything.. I am obsessed with the backup Quarterback position apparently. And dangit if Matt Barkley didn't make me a more positive and healthy man. I may always be PetermanThrew5Picks to some. But I'm a much more emotionally developed since those dark days.. I am.. BarkleyForGOATBackup. question: HOW DO I CHANGE MY "VET/RFA/PS/PROSPECT" SLOGAN OR WHATEVER IT IS. I ACCIDENTALLY SET IT TO MY EXACT SAME NAME. I WANT TO BE A... PRIMADONNA LOCKERROOM POISON HOLDING OUT FOR MORE PAPER
  18. He must have ****ed Rex or more important people off. My theory. Regardless, Anthony Lynn was very good, and probably made the decision that much easier. Is it me or have Rex's teams been pretty great at ground in pound in this era. He may have a positive influence on the offense. Brought in Tyrod when we were ****Ed at quarterback, and gave us a way better offense overnight. Not to mention he made Thomas friggin Jones an all-pro at Jets 2 straight years. Maybe he doesn't want to admit it but he could have a unique offensive ability.. shrouded by his ego as a defensive Mastermind. Let's see him leave defense to the DC and be involved with offensive personnel and test this one out. We may make a good coach out of Rex yet!
  19. This guy's going to be a great WR next year. Calling. It. Give me some of that early Skydiver take on Foster love when it happens. I'll be sure to take a victory lap. If it doesn't. Who cares y'all won't remember it. He's some CFL scrub with this thread and my hot take buried in the archives. I can't lose hehe.
  20. Cousins oughta be much more consistent than Keenum would have been. Anybody thinking Keenum was going to keep up the season he had last year was being ridiculous. Anybody thinking Cousins could do better every year.. same thing. But Cousins will put up numbers and be consistently better than Keenum. They could afford the contract and got the best FA QB to hit the market in years. He's not what his contract says he is among NFL QBs. But he's NOT BAD haha. He's just got what the best FA QB to hit the market since Peyton Manning is going to get. If you can afford to overpay to improve you're roster in the short term while you still have some good contracts.. go for it. Why not overpay.
  21. On how good they were at their prime (or how I see their prime panning out) 1-4 are home run 2nds. Rags, Dawkins, and Zay i don't really know. The rest.. meh 1. Ronald Darby 2. Jairus Byrd 3. Aaron Williams 4. Kiko 5. Rags (he's doing well at KC.. last I checked a year ago) 6. Dawkins 7. Zay 8. Roscoe 9. Reed 10. Kelsay Let's just stick to secondary in the 2nd. That's what I've learned today.
