  1. I love Poyer too much for that. It would tick me off and has to affect Poyer's boys too. **** That. No to Brown. Let it be known to the NFL: don't bang Poyer's wife if you want to be on the Bills.
  2. I guess so on McDermott but then again having a ton of high maintenance talent constantly making noise in the playoffs is a pretty good problem to have when an incident like this and not making the playoffs with 2 silly losses one year is the end of the world. I'm perfectly fine with McDermott so far but I'd like to see how he coaches a more talented team.. and if his personnel preference at some point shows it prevents his selection in the NFL talent pool if he's not willing to take risks. Hopefully either his personnel decisions work out or when he's gifted talented players with some character issues, he can motivate that with good coaching.. or prevent anybody's ego from festering out of control.
  3. Yeah, Tomlin's very hands off which lends itself well to having lockerroom leaders on a talented team steer the ship. Troy was a fantastic lead by example type. Seems this team is devoid of any of that. And Big Ben's influence has gotten out of control where Tomlin should have curtailed it long ago. By this point seems like Tomlin's in a tough position now with his Quarterback not helping out in the role Troy and Hines did. The writing on the wall for me was the Raiders game. Ben seems perfectly healthy and fine to play.. Tomlin's told Ben can't go and his mind has to be on coaching the rest of the team to get the win. All the while he and Ben don't say a word to each other until Ben comes back in mid 4th quarter when they are about to lose to the friggin raiders. Sets a terrible example to the team. In Brown's mind I can see where what Brown did is no more egregious to Ben skipping out IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME. Crazy sequence of events. That Raiders game put a stink bomb in the lockerroom for sure nobody could put out. At some point I don't even know how Tomlin 's even supposed to handle that. Brady and Belicheck have their issues but Brady's at least just as manaically devoted to winning as Beli.
  4. Yep Brown is who he is because of Brown. Ben is not the reason he's cranking insane numbers his career. He's not defined as a 6th round pick from the MAC, he's an NFL HOFer if he were to retire today.. who's obligated to carry some monkish humility for being a 6th round draft pick? Tell that to Brady and Fred Jackson. They should carry the shame and humility the rest of their careers lol. I just didn't respond because it read like an angry post from a YouTube comment. Just a whack *** take that he's not even going to come back to see responses for a month lol.
  5. After Burfict is there a dirtier player than Kiko in the league right now? Gronk's was terrible but still a first time offense. I was hoping Kiko would be on his way out from the AFCE but apparently he's had his best season for the Dolphins last year.
  6. I hate those kind of posts. Then again I've been throwing mad shade at Big Ben myself constantly in this thread lol. But I didn't call him a garbage human being either (although it can be argued he has a way shadier off field past than Brown does). But no.. Ben is just boys being boys, AB is a garbage human being for.. not showing up to practice and failing to acknowledge and appreciate Ben singlehandedly creating AB's HOF career. Interesting.
  7. Imagine your OL throwing shade at you when you consider coming back for the end of the year. Makes your decision pretty easy if you're Bell. And Big Ben's the kind of guy to make a media story over not being texted back.. after the dude is no longer a teammate. I don't know what's in the water in Pittsburgh but with better leadership from Ben they could have AB, Bell, and a healthier Connor in the playoffs right now. Instead they minimized AB and Bell's impact on the team cause it's all about Ben. He made AB have HOF #s apparently. He's probably ruined his small remaining career window to win another one if he loses AB. Make your talented high maintenance players happy, that's part of your job Ben. He's the common denominator IMO.
  8. Yeah if we're talking of Jerry Rice stats over a handful of way overblown media stories (as people are want to take out of proportion naturally because talented athletes making a stink ticks fans off)... In a vacuum denying that tradeoff is absolutely ludicrous to me. I can see other factors.. ahem.. Poyer and asking price otherwise tipping the scales but otherwise I'm very intrigued. Disrespecting Poyer is really the only thing I'd unfortunately have to veto getting Brown. I'd hope Beane reaches out to him about how he feels if he pursues the trade and respects him accordingly. Very weird wrench a GM has to deal with but it's absolutely something he should address or consider.
  9. That said I'll bet against you that Brown will get traded lol.
  10. "You have issues" ? really scathing retort from an internet stranger on a Bills forum. I don't see much problem with Brown. We blow these alleged "me-first" personalities way out proportion. If you have performed so well for so long as Brown has, something tells me winning football games and giving his best effort for his team is pretty high on his list. The personality issues of one player shouldn't ruin a lockerroom for any coach worth his salt of leading grown men to play football. I think if he's demanding a trade it's a 50/50. To your point Steelers would be much worse off if they firesale Brown and lose Bell in the same season. They'd likely lose the last of their small window with Big Ben still playing.
  11. And if he's not getting enough. He deserves the targets anyway. Dude's a playmaker who's probably right to complain he's not getting enough targets being a HOFer in his prime on pace to rival Jerry Rice's numbers I'd break the bank for him in a minute. Don't think he's a horrible teammate. Surely has some primadonna reciever in him but who cares. Talent far exceeds the overblown media stories he's had in what.. 3 instances including this just now? It's more the Steelers than Bell or Brown in my opinion. Too consipicuous that their two best players want out so bad. If it's between Brown and Poyer.. pretty crazy how much that affects things. I've gotta go with Poyer. He's my boy and I respect loyalty to your players from the Bills if the beef is substantiated. Pretty sure the rift would cause resentment for anyone close to Poyer in the lockerroom. And honestly I feel the same way since Poyer's been one of my favorite places last two years
  12. I'll just play it safe and assume he's a huge creep with no game there haha. Not a fan though. Not for Big Ben. Not for Steelers fans.
  13. I'd have to check the math but I'm pretty sure every losing team can say most of their losses were to winning teams.
  14. Roethlisberger refused to play when perfectly healthy in the second half against the Raiders because he thought it'd be a fun idea to play chicken with Mike Tomlin. They lost the game. add Pig Ben to your long list. I don't think any of these guys beat puppies or anything. Not playing a game is selfish I don't know about garbage human beings! Yeah I like Poyer too much to lose him for the dude that banged his wife. Sorry AB I'd have taken you with open arms but I'm much more loyal to my hard partier Jordy Poyer.
  15. I'll say it served a purpose back then given that there were very few black coaches up to that point. Obviously far less before 2003 and it kickstarted number of black coaches. It certainly had an impact statistically. Just like anything it's pretty useless now. Probably an inconvenience for black coaches that have to get interviewed by the entire league and not get a job, as well as the other side forced to interview someone they have no interest in.. but I really don't see any issue with it. It's just some holdover rule now.. people recognize that, and it's just an inconvenience more than anything. It's not saying anything racist about black coaches now if you just realize the purpose and impact it had when the rule actually was making changes. Vance Joseph was horrible.. I actually was nervous about Bowles 1st year but he looks like he has zero personality. Good DC though. Hue... Oh Hue lol. Surprised with Marvin Lewis but that was gonna happen sooner or later. I don't see what the Rooney rule has to do with crappy coaches getting fired. But I guess this group is going to have a lot of ceremonial interviews that are going to suck. I'd hate to be interviewed knowing they're forced to do it but **** it, you might get a job if you're nailing the interviews lol. I'll bet Marvin Lewis gets a shot again somewhere, if not next year, at HC in his career.
  16. that ain't good beef. No sir. Guess I'm team Poyer on this one boys.
  17. Tomlin runs a loose ship. Which is okay when you have some legitimate leaders in your lockerroom to carry the load. Let the players self enforce themselves. Troy Polamalu. When you got Big Ben running the ship unchecked you're going to have problems. Not a leader of men, and that's when Tomlin's gotta tighten it up. I hate the Steelers anyway, so screw em. They'll be fine regardless they draft the best of any team out there. This isn't the first time they've imploded, they're a really talented group of players that shoot themselves in the foot every now and then.
  18. I like beef in my locker room. Is uh.. "Pig Ben" a typo? because if not.. I like it.
  19. If I were a betting man. I'd say it's 80% gotta be Ben. The dude just sucks. Threw Brown under the bus for his picks.
  20. they line up away from everyone and get lonely. They're constantly playing one on one battles. Almost everything they do is an individual accomplishment. Takes a different kind of personality to be focused all by your lonesome split wide with the enemy lined up in front of you. Every. Darn. Play.
  21. everybody wants to have all the credit. Big Ben acting like he doesn't need Bell or Brown. Just JuJu. Blaming his picks on his coaches and WRs. Having a standoff with Tomlin vs the Raiders game. Tomlin doesn't want to have to beg Ben to play that game. Ben wants Tomlin to grovel to get him back in the game. Locker room is a mess. They imploded bigly and I'm not surprised if many want to get out of there. They probably could have had Bell back in all honesty. What kind of offensive line throws shade at their runningback because of money? No runningback in his right mind decides to play behind those guys.. an RB's nightmare. No idea why Brown was out.. although I think he was genuinely hurt? But Big Ben is making everything a hot mess. Must be a super annoying offense to be in with all the drama this year. Dude goes to the media about not having his texts returned.. Oof I hate the Steelers! EDIT: written before I got caught up with the details. CBS broadcast had reported an injury at the time so I went off that. I still hate the Steelers though! The lesser Pats.
  22. That's huge. When you get better and play the playoff teams competitively and still beat the teams your supposed to beat, you have a chance at going 10-6. Most frustrating thing was losing to teams like the Raiders in 2014 in a critical game in the playoff hunt. Playoff teams can't be doing that. See: Steelers. Fun fact. We definitely knocked the Vikings out. They'd be in if they had won. Have to be the worst team they lost to. Boy did they lay an egg.
  23. I'd absolutely keep Wentz over Foles. The better question is I believe Wentz will probably start being a healthy scratch if Foles gets past the first round.. do you start Wentz? In this case I'd go with the hot hand in Foles and see if I can squeeze another miracle because I seriously doubt rusty Wentz has any chance whereas Foles is a 5% wildcard to make the run again.
