Sam Darnold Officially Named NYJ Starting QB
Lfod replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We all know that some rookie QBs can start and function well or at the very least function. The thing I don't know for sure is how much credit the QB gets in comparison to the coaching team and organization around him. I believe it matters a lot. With as many picks as the Browns have had they should of struck gold at QB a few times by now. They just are a terrible football organization. People still believe they could pick a miracle will never get the wish until the entire organization is serious. I think Tom Brady benefits from the organization around him. His Coaching Staff recognized a cerebral guy that wasn't a natural athletic talent and picked him when he was just an afterthought. This is thier franchise QB people. So many rings it looks fixed man. They trade away Jimmy Goroppolo for cents and he is somebody else's franchise QB. That's how much the Patriots have it together. They are that confident in the cerebral game they run. In some ways it's a Nathan Peterman situation. You pick a guy with a great mind at the cost of body. Then you turn that kid into a fitness freak and hope he develops. You see Peterman in preseason and you know he can see the field really fast. You know he is cerebral. You also know that arm strength is a factor and could spell doom. If McDermott is the coach I think he is then I believe intelligence is an important thing to him. He wouldn't leave a stone unturned due to bias. I see Peterman as a weak Tom Brady so flame on haters. I do believe I've seen the light turn on with Allen at times. He already has the body of an NFL QB. The only question is how cerebral is he. I wouldn't even try to guess. It looked like to me he definitely can be. I think the reason Peterman is still on board is that a rookie QB can come in and soak up knowledge from him. The Jets getting a jump on us in any way is concerning. I've been kinda thinking the Jets looked good when they gave my Bills a curb stomp last season. I don't think they are a laughing stock anymore. The time table on Allen is dependent on him and the organization around him. It's just the way it is. It's a complex puzzle and you need a lot of pieces to fit before you can see a picture of franchise QB form. -
I mean if the Bills feel that Allen will develop during the season go ahead and start him. Allen has showed signs of life during preseason. Let the Bengals game be his learning experience. To be clear I'm leaning twords Peterman but I also don't deny that the quick passing style might just be a gimmick. He needs to be perfect to make it work. The margin for error is slim.

Peterman will never live down the 5-pick half . . .

I'll give you credit. A few people didn't want Tyrod benched for Peterman and I think I remember you being one of those people. You are justified to sound off. -

It wasn't about Peterman as much as to say sometimes the NFL is unpredictable. It's a good thing because I wouldn't be a fan if everything was predetermined ahead of time. -

Is he not the best QB of his time? Any first round picks knocking him off the pedestal? -

Tom Brady should of been picked top of the first round. It didn't happen. The NFL is sometimes unpredictable. -

Honestly I have very little to go on to formulate an opinion. Looks like a champ in preseason. He absolutely crashed and burned during his debut. Looked better during the Colts game but still didn't finish. Again he is looking absolutely clutch in preseason again. The doubters and naysayers could be right. They could be dead wrong. I'm on the fence. The only problem I have with his doubters is they remove any room for improvement. It's just not logically possible for Nate to be anything but that 5 interception joke. That and they bend over backwards to dismiss Peterman and Prop up Allen. The closest they will come is meh the O-Line sucks start Nate or AJMcarron to get killed. Hey it's progress! Even though they look goofy mentioning AJMcarron. I'm in full support of Peterman starting but I'm still going to be cringing worried that he will crash and burn. It's going to be a very nervous excitement for me. I will be excited if he starts. This is the QB I want to start. -
I never seen feelings change so fast.

Please name Josh Allen the starter

I look at the post game interviews of JA and Peterman. One guy looks embarrassed and the other guy looks confident. -
The Final Word- Our New NGU or Dunkirk Don?

I kinda thought The Final Word could be funny if it wasn't over the top stupid. I think he was banned already. -
Bills are playing a little "Rope A Dope" with the AFC
Lfod replied to realtruelove's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't about unleashing hell but I don't think the team is a tire fire because JA had a bad start in preseason. People put all thier emotional eggs in that basket. I've seen a lot of melt downs and drivel ever since. Omg JA had a bad game the entire team sucks!!! -sad Bills fans -
I like Josh Allen but starting him doesn't guarantee anything. I respect people want to see if he is the real deal, but starting him doesn't make him the automatic franchise QB. Nothing is set in stone. I have no attachment to any of these QBs beyond what I see as a potential and nothing more. AJ is nothing special, Peterman has quick passes and Allen has a rocket launcher. I have always been in the mindset that this team would be in transition until it no longer is. We have had a revolving door at coaching position and a team heading off into a different direction each regime change. I wasn't interested in Rex Ryan and I liked St Doug. With McDermott last year I got a team stripping dead weight and still managing to win. I think that allows me to believe my team won't just fall off a cliff. I'm going into the season (again) with the knowledge this is a team still being built and is not a finished product. I'm nervous and yet I'm still confident in Sean McDermott's coaching abilities. I went in last year with low expectations and walked away finally having a HC I can believe in. He makes moves I agree with. He says things in a way I respect. The QB that takes us to the Superbowl may or may not be presently on the team and I don't care because I believe McDermott is going to give me a championship before his time is done in Buffalo. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the show. I am in full support of the QB that starts this year to be the QB of the future besides AJMcarron, forget that guy.

peterman will start, always the plan
Lfod replied to The Final Word's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another straw man. I could say that Peterman was satisfactory to McDermott and he has been very careful to start his other QBs to see if they can do any better. Covering all his bases. It looks like to me he is just giving every other QB outside of Peterman due diligence. Funny you think he protects Peterman and let's the teams 1st round draft pick get destroyed because? People are way more emotional over Allen than Peterman. He could cut Peterman tomorrow and you won't hear a peep. -
Please name Josh Allen the starter

I'm ok with that. I liked the preview of Josh Allen. I think the offense needs to improve entirely in the grand scheme of things as well. -
peterman will start, always the plan

Your correct that was Josh Allen's game to prove he was up to speed enough to get the start. We will never know how Peterman would have looked so why even use it as a talking point. It's just a straw man argument that cannot be proven. -

I felt the same way before preseason I do now. Except that I don't have any faith in AJMcarron now and I like Nathan Peterman more than I did. -

Peterman looked good in preseason and Josh Allen didn't look as good. Dismiss the one and excuse the other if it makes you feel better.
