  1. A most definite possibility. It seem like Miami is considering that and has tried to prepare IF that's true. If Beane picked Rosen instead of Allen (like the majority of this board wanted) but put himself in position to fix it he could of survived it.
  2. That's for sure. Miami has one big question. Is Tua good enough? They could of stayed at 3 and got the QB table scraps this year and hoped he was better than Tua. They chose to make the move they made which IMO was all about the Tua question. Whether or not they can have enough capital to get a QB a year from now is academic. BUT they sure have a lot more capital with a 2023 1st! As for this future considerations are not worth it that is debatable by a lot of factors. If Beane could trade a 3rd round pick for a 1st round pick 2 year in the future and did that over and over..........he'd be a fool not to! Miami is in a good situation and I hope they screw it up.
  3. It seems to me that Singletary and Moss are both decent RBs but neither bring anything special to their game. I feel it doesn't matter which one is in the defenses play them the same and I suspect neither is feared too much. It's one of the main reasons I want to see a RB that causes the defense some worry. I feel that will help Josh and the offense in total. It seems the easiest way to improve the O. As an example no one can convince me that having McCoy in his prime wouldn't create a whole new diversity to this offense.
  4. Brandon Powell's contract is already in Spotrac and it's essentially a Jake Kumerow contract. 980k minimum with nothing guaranteed.
  5. yep. As to Josh. Spotrac has his market value at 4 years $42M average. That is very much dead on. If Josh signs a 6 year at the same average it will be a discount. He may sign even a 7 year. That's what I have predicted since the Mahomes signing.
  6. Well, worse case scenario is he stays in the US with his hot girlfriend/fiancé and makes 130K or so.
  7. You should have the honor of a LAMP if that happens. Instead of Beane doing the competition musical chairs AFTER the draft like he always does, with all the FAs scrambling for a spot now just keep them coming in!
  8. That could be an option for them. It seems obvious they are going with Tua for this year and probably next year too. If they didn't think that they wouldn't of done what they did. How it works out everyone will have to wait and I hope Tua busts! They also are playing with house money here. Who on this board would of though the Tunsil trade would of worked out as a #6 let alone the future picks.
  9. I copied and pasted from one of the trade threads: I will say how I see these trades. 1. Miami has 8 picks of which 5 are in the Top 81. They don't need anymore draft capital this year. 2. If their GM/HC has 3 non QBs players on their board that they want then the trade down doesn't matter. 3. Next year they could trade that 1st and 3rd which will be worth a lot more than right now. 4. If they save them for 2023 it's a 1st and a 3rd no matter what anyone says they are worth now. If Tua fails they will want those future picks. Seems to me they are planning long term and that doesn't make me happy. I hope they pick a few busts!
  10. What sucked the most was needing a QB and picking in double digits for all those years!

  12. This singing smells of Beane dotting i's and crossing t's to make sure he has camp competition for McKenzie KR/PR. I think in a perfect world he doesn't make the team.
  13. Hap, I was the one stating approximately $1.5M as the eventual true cost of the rookies signing. One thing I didn't put in my breakdown was the 1st year residual signing bonus for the lower pick the get consumed by the Top 51. That brings it up about 200K. Greg of Cover 1 brings up something I can't fine either but I'm suspecting is true. It seems to be a merger of a couple of different rules governing cap space needed on draft day. The numbers seems to be the following: A 660k (Rookie minimum salary) cap space for all draft pick above the Top 51 rule + the residual signing bonus cap hit for all those below the Top 51. When I add that up in comes very close to his numbers. FWIW
  14. Dialing the mental health hotline is my guess.
  15. Add to the equation that a 7-9 year puts you in the perfect position to not get a QB in the draft! Everyone and I mean everyone said they overpaid for the move. When you add that they picked Darnold it was a horrible move. I'm not trying to pick on you it's just the truth.
  16. Brieda is never going to be a RB1. He is a change of pace guy for the Bills having Moss/Singletary. The Kansas City Chiefs had no problem drafting a Running Back at pick #32. Fans can think anyway they want. There are plenty of examples to "make a point" either way.
  17. The they will have 1 2022 1st and 2 2023 picks to move up. My point is the fish are setting themselves up to be very competitive in the AFC in the next year or two.
  18. If Tua doesn't work out that 2023 1st will come in handy. Dolphins got 2 picks this year in the first 3 rounds. 5 picks in the top 81!
  19. If you are the Dolphins it's the result. They know that #3 is now a QB. So in reality they went form 4 to 6 in the trade.
  20. Oh I agree about Herbert! Right now I don't think anyone knows how good or bad Tua will eventually be. They will have 2 1st's in 2023 so Tua has a 2 year window to show what he's got. They could win a lot of games with a QB that performs pretty good.
  21. The FA market is full of late round RBs who couldn't make it in the NFL. Finding a good RB is not as easy as some say it is.
  22. It was a 3 way trade. The fish in essence by trading 3 for 6 knowing 3 is a QB. So they took a chance of 2 players going before they pick for a 2023 1st round and a 3rd rounder this year. If they would be satisfied with 1 of 3 players it's a great move. Atlanta is most likely NOT going with a WR. Miami has so many picks this year they still can do almost anything.
  23. Wow. Getting crazy now.
  24. So the Tunsil trade nets the Dolphins 4 1st round picks 1 2nd rounder and a 3rd round pick. I think the fish won that trade!
