  1. The Redshins on the sidelines having a prayer session for him during the game was probably a first. Also, three penalities being called on the Ravens on a single play must approach some sort of record.
  2. You took the words right out of my mouth. The Cowgirls are definitely slipping.
  3. Someone needs to go after him. He supposedly is a billionaire who appears to be more interested in spending money on politics rather than pucks. Plus he apparently knows very little about hockey and has basically given his quite mediocre management team free reign (to do nothing). Someone who has some vision and smarts needs to get the owner's ear. By the way, to be repetitive and get my shots in every time I can, Lindy will likely kill the offensive instincts of Vanek and Roy, and once again grope around in the dark to figure out how to execute the power play.
  4. Don't hear anything about McFarland. Has he done anything? Is he even still around?
  5. A curse on anything Paul Snyder is involved with. He shoold have been run out of town for his rip off job on the Buffalo Braves and the city.
  6. If you like playing tourist, the Inner Harbor is the place. But, as others have mentioned, there are much more interesting places to go. Yes, the aquarium is worth it. Little Italy is walking distance from the Harbor, and well worth the time. Have dinner at one of the many decent restaurants there (Da Mimmos - expensive, Caesar's Den - moderate, Amicci's - reasonable) and than head over to Vaccaros for dessert. It's a great Italian bakery and ice cream shop. Fells Point is definitely worthwhile. It's where they filmed the Homicide TV series. Little Greece is also interesting for the food and insular atmospherics. The Greek delis there are great. Also, as mentioned, Camden Yards is right near all the sights and not far from the Babe Ruth house and museaum.
  7. It doesn't matter who takes over at this point in time. The players learned a very hard lesson, which will likely be indelibly ingrained for some time. The next time around, it's unlikely they'll be so willing to blindly follow a pied piper, whether he appears "good enough" or not.
  8. I just returned from Fort Worth this PM. It was interesting to see how many Texans I spoke to the past few days who do just that, blame Bush.
  9. His feeling in pretty lame (I hope I'm wrong). Comparing our chances in a random drawing among 30 teams to the Sabres getting Perreault with an expansion gimme is a non-starter.
  10. When they were the Bullets, Washington DC was practically lleading the nation in murders, per capita. So the team owner, who has never had a clue about running a franchise and building a steady winner, decided that the name Bullets was too symptomatic of crime and thus needed to be cleaned up. Also, changing the name might theoretically erase some of team's sorry history from people's minds, So the team became known as the Wizards, yes, supposedly to appear creditable.
  11. Kwame Brown isn't worth two cents. It's rather amazing that the so called Wizards got anything of value for this sorry ass.
  12. You are absolutely right. But Lindy Ruff doesn't have many original thoughts, unfortunately.
  13. Where's the basketball team? Can we start with Carlton Dotson? And add a little Latrell?
  14. The only captured weapons that might be useful are major weapons platforms, such as tanks and aircraft. But you really need to capture a lot of them to make the cost of upgrading and otherwise modifying them, and training on them. worthwhile. The perfect example of this was when the Israelis captured hundreds upon hundreds of Egyptian tanks during the Six Day War. It was worth the cost to upgrade and modify them so they could be deployed with front-line units.
  15. Over the years, which collge football program has garnered the worst off-the-field reputation, Miami or Florida State? The winning school faces off against Virginia Tech.
  16. Disagree about him not being a basketball player. His first few seasons with Orlando, he was not. However, he has really refined his game and does alot of things besides dunk.
  17. I agree that Philly probably would still like to have Henry. Westbrook's one-year deal is a stop-gap for both parties. But who cares if Henry makes the Eagles better?
  18. TD knows what he's doing. Somebody is going to lose a prime running back to injury once camps open and be willing to pay for Henry.
