  1. Anything to make the line less offensive, stop gap or not. Build thru the draft. But you still need a good degree of stability while young guys mature, especially if you don't want to be in a perpetual rebuilding mode. If Fabini has anything left, it'll be better than what we've had of late.
  2. Boys and girls, we do need a quarterback. No one is number one, and everyone is suspect at this point in time. So anyone with an untapped upside warrants a look.
  3. Couldn't agree more. I recall that when I posted just prior to the game suggesting that it would not be a bad idea to tank one, everyone on the board was screaming about disloyalty and other BS. So what did that win realistically gain us, other than a few fans being able to hoist a few more to celebrate. Yes, the forest is more valuable than any individual tree in it. And being at five, would be a much nicer looking forest.
  4. The fact that Anderson and Posey are still around exemplifies how far we still have to go in shaping this team.
  5. Danny has been known to bribe people (he paid off someone from the National Park Service to allow him to cut down scores of trees - on Government property - to give him an unobstructed view of the Potomac River from his house), so why not the Commish.
  6. Regarding Young, I don't know that I'd necessarily draft him, but intelligence isn't everything. Mr. Bradshaw came into the NFL with an incredible rap about his lack of brain matter. And he, to this day, continues to show that his rep was well deserved as he is the epitamy of a bozo. But he also won a few games, I believe.
  7. Plus, Antonio Bryant is probably your type of guy - shoot from the hip and disengage the brain from the lip.
  8. Very true. I don't know how the Jets can pass on a quarterback, given Pennington's health, unless they are targeting a free agent. I can definitely see them taking Cutler over Young, if it comes to that choice.
  9. Danny's response will be "You can't do that to me; I'm special. It's only a matter of time until I buy my championship, whether you like it or not." I used to enjoy going to Redskins games, until Snyder came along, never caring much who won them and always watching the Bills score. But this sleazebag organization is one many in the DC area, myself included, refuse to waste their time on. I hope the 'skins get what they deserve. Poor Joe Gibbs, who deserves better.
  10. Just returned from the KC area. The local papers are speculating that Will Shields will be a cap cut. I'd definitely grab him for the OL. The speculation is that he might retire, but his agent stated yesterday that he definitely wants to play this year.
  11. He is not stupid. In fact, he's pretty articulate. The problem is he won't play within the system; probably never had to up until he reached the NFL. He either feels he's more effective doing his own thing, as he always has done, or has had great difficulty breaking old habits. The contract nonsense was more his agent screwing up and not disecting the final contract, as he was being paid to do.
  12. He was getting rave reviews his rookie season but suffered a serious knee injury, which he never recovered from, about midway through the season. I remember the local media saying how "sick" they were about this guy going down.
  13. Anyone remember Roger Kochman out of Penn State? He was a good one until he tore up his knee. Same went for big Ben Gregory, who went down in his rookie season. Of course, the biggest unknown had to be poor Ernie Davis. He had the makings to perhaps be the best of them all.
  14. Kiper is now projecting Cutler as the number 9 pick in the first round. Did Cutler's "small hands" cause him to fumble alot in college or are the doubters merely speculating about said propensity/possibility?
  15. The old axiom that it takes five years to develop a top notch NFL quarterback has been skewed by the likes of big Ben, Payton, and, definitely, Marino. But they are exceptions moreso than anything else. Look at guys like Steve Young, who spent years as a second fiddle, learning the game, and Trent Green. And Johnny U. bumped around for a while, as did Brett. JP may not be the answer. But eight games isn't five years, according to my calculator.
  16. Keep Williams; miracles do happen. Milloy has lost some steps, which does make him a liability in certain situations. Franchising Clements makes sense, otherwise we have to draft a corner where we should be drafting linemen. Posey needs to mosey.
  17. The last episode sort of reminded me of the old Sheridan Drive rivalry of Pat's Hot Dogs and the place that used to be right next door to it. However, the only fires, at that time, were in the grills.
