  1. It is a bit surprising. It appears that TD is merely attempting to show that he is still focussed and on the job, despite the rumors and distractions. If he quits functioning as a GM, he leaves the impression that he doesn't care any more. And if that's the case, why even think about retaining him.
  2. I don't want to see any comfort zone develop around Donahoe and Mularkey. Two straight wins may give the "old man" some pause. Plus it certainly won't help our draft position.
  3. He should have retired last year, when it was clear the tank was empty. I have no sympathy for guys who hang on and cannot look at themselves in the mirror and see what's really there, and who put their teams in the position of having to support the unsupportable, simply because it's the "right thing to do." The Packers should have been breaking in the rookie this year. I feel sorry for Favre since he was, repeat was, a hell of a quarterback.
  4. Why do so many scenarios consider MM a relatively safe bet to return? In two seasons, has he shown anybody anything as a head coach? I don't get it.
  5. Offerman Stadium was the most comfortable ballpark I've ever been in. It had the same intimacy as Fenway Park has, with, as you suggest, a touch of Wrigley Field. It's a shame it's gone.
  6. It's almost over. Don't be timid, please.
  7. Buffalo Bison hockey games in the '50s, when they were the Canadians farm and had so many players who became stars in the NHL, including Jacques Plante, Dickie Moore, and Pierre Pilote. Bison baseball at Offerman. Community ownership and "throw it back" (the foul balls, to save the team money). A most unique time. I was at the game Luke Easter cleared the scoreboard the first time - got his autograph after the game. Little Three basketball, back then, when we had some of the best college teams in the country, year after year.
  8. Biron can get you some top flight defensive help now. Guys like Fitzpartick are not the answer in the long haul. Keeping three goalies is self-delusion. Noranen is a very capable goalie who will basically rust away sitting every night. Plus, his attitude will likely not be where you need it to be when he has to play, whenever that is. Miller showed tonight, after the NHL lay off he's had and against a team as good as the Flyers, that he clearly is the Sabres' future in the net.
  9. Champ Bailey is an overrated corner. Evans shut himself down.
  10. Before Biron does crash, and the chances are slim that he won't, trade him. You can now get the quality D you need since three teams currently are looking for goalies. Plus, we have the luxury of Miller and Mika (who desperately needs playing time and cannot be sent to Rochester) waiting around.
  11. I've always wondered how Teague would do at his natural position, tackle. Unfortunately, the "brains" don't appear too curious. This seaon would have seemingly been the time to find out, with Preston available at center. Agreed, we have to stop going for bandaids and focus on quality. Of course, TD has attempted that, as well, with Williams. The problems on both lines are clearly much more than personnel-related.
  12. I am glad to hear, according to the game announcers, that "the Bills are heading in the right direction." They must know something no Bills has any inkling of. What I am really curious about is what the "wrong direction" would possibly be. Typical know-it-all announcers who don't have a clue about what they are talking about.
  13. For those of us who were there and remember, OJ was an average back until the Electric Company got turned on. About the only back that probably didn't need a decent offensive line in front of him was Jim Brown. Willis deserves a break. He has very little in the way of help. This team has much bigger problems to worry about than Magahee.
  14. Parrish is absolutely too small. What was TD thinking, again? Malloy must go. His speed is gone.
  15. It is better to have a lame duck regime than a dead duck regime, which we currently have. This is not a new concept in pro sports. Above all, it sends a message to the fans and the team that ownership cares.
  16. This, of course, is a major concern. If Ralph cannot make the call, we are in much deeper than one caould ever imagine. Keeping Donahoe and Mularkey around for any appreciable period of time will likely increase the puzzlement and snickers around the league and could basically make this a lame duck franchise. Should the spiral continue, and what are the expectations that it won't, it will lead the fans to stop coming to games and free agents avoiding the Bills like the plague. Hello LA or Vegas!
  17. Ralph needs to make a statement, for the good of the fans and this team, immediately. He should fire Donahoe and Mularkey and appoint and interim GM and coach through the remainder of the season. This organization is the laughingstock of the NFL and is far beyond retrieving. Anything short of immediate action by the owner is irresponsible.
  18. If TD is still the GM next year, will the Bills sell any season tickets? Ponder that one Ralph.
  19. Paulie Boy should have been run out of Buffalo the same way Cleveland treated Art Modell when he did his deed on the city and the Browns fans. Yet, from what I understand, Snyder is still residing in WNY and making tons of money off the community. He is a disgrace as a person and a Buffalonian. I hate the thought of the bastard.
  20. What should be added to those uniforms is a picture of paul snyder with a bullet wound in his heart.
