  1. Maybe Von’s been saving the good stuff for this one? Man, if he was going full speed with Floyd and Oliver playing the way they are, this would be a scary pass rush.
  2. That would be a huge mistake. You’d essentially ruin one of the most exciting parts of the entire game. I know bombs are one of the things that drew me to the game as a kid. If you make pi a 10-15 yard penalty you’re guaranteeing every single bomb where the db is beat will end in a pi. Heck, there’d be some teams/coaches that would strategize to do that stuff and squeeze them when they’re too close to attempt anymore bombs. It would be a really bad idea for the game (making it result in more pi’s/flags, and much less bomb tds), and for the nfl because for the same reasons as it’s bad for the game. New watchers want excitement, not flag central.
  3. You think that’s nuts? Sometimes when I’m feeling a bit cheeky, I stop by when I’m not even bowling. I find the lane with the most bowlers, walk up, and without saying a word saunter over to their fan and just feel the breeze. They don’t even know what hit ‘em! I’ve had a bowler cry, the scene was so intense.
  4. It could just be a habit at this point. When I bowl I have to put my hand over the little fan. My hands could be dry as the Sahara, I still have to feel those wild winds through my digits.
  5. I absolutely hate the Bengals and their fans now, so Ravens. But it doesn’t really matter. We stink!
  6. “Un-captain like behavior?” The guy is the only one that still seems to have some fire in him, he didn’t like the way this team was rolling since last year and he’s been completely proven right. He’s been quiet as a mouse while all this has been going down, and he would be completely right to speak up. IF he speaks up and starts ruffling feathers, I’d 100% back it. The guy wants to win and be competitive, that sentiment doesn’t seem to be shared by this team. I completely expect that he’s going to try and find a way off this team, and I wouldnt hold it against him. In fact, I think we should do it. He’s the only one on this team outside of Allen that would still command a return, and given how this team has been functioning with a bonafide #1 receiver it doesn’t seem to matter. Imo, this teams needs a re-tooling and Diggs won’t be the same guy he is now by the time we’re ready to compete again. Get what you can now for the future.
  7. Unfortunately I don’t believe Diggs is the guy he is now, after a re-tooling of that size. I also dont see him sticking around for that. If this is the course, you take what you can get for Diggs. His stock is higher than anyone on the team outside of Allen, and we’d need that return.
  8. Will Mcdermott give the coordinator carte Blanche though?
  9. It sure does seem like he doesn’t have that razor sharp focus of getting better every year. I feel like he worked really hard to get good at the thing he loved, and then he started loving other things more. I can’t really fault him for that. He’s still good, but without that focus he’s not going to get better. I feel like Diggs saw this coming. He’s all about ball and only cares about getting better and winning the whole thing. Josh is more the work/life balance kinda guy.
  10. 100% agree. I have had generations of butterflies populating in my gut since 1988 when I first started watching the Bills. They made it through everything. Wide right, music city, countless terrible qbs and teams. I’m in a weird place right now. It appears this team has killed those butterflies. I don’t know if it’s age, life, not sure. But I dont wake up on gameday feeling them. Even worse, i’ve been falling asleep at halftime during primetime games. I don’t have that nervous excitement that would keep me awake and eyes peeled like the past. Not sure if this is just a phase or what, but I don’t like it one bit. Almost feels to me like the team doesn’t seem to care, so why should I?
  11. Wow… how did I know this would be a thread? Predictable.
  12. I’m always the defensive tackles. Sometimes when I feel spicy I’ll use a linebacker on a play where I have them rushing the qb.
  13. I don’t agree. I’m probably what you’d consider an “old guy” and I bought the new one mostly because if the Allen cover. I’m surprised how fun I find it. I exclusively play MUT. New challenges and cards every week. It keeps it fun and engaging. Sure, there are people that take it too seriously and spend $100’s on packs, which is why I keep it to solo games and challenges. For what I use it for, I’m definitely getting my moneys worth out of it.
  14. The kimono and matching shorts are beauts. Might buy those and wear the combo for the next draft I host.
  15. That’s funny, sounds like I had the same kind of day as you except that was the only play I did remember.
  16. I believe that’s using the really bad, amped Josh games as evidence that he can’t play that way. Josh is really in his head right now and I have zero doubt a lot of that is Mcdermott being in his ear telling him he has to trust HIS process. There has to be a happy medium, and as much as I disliked a lot of what Daboll did, it’s clear he pushed back against Mcd and that’s why their relationship is as frosty as it is. Mcd wants things done his way.
  17. People are starting to pile on Josh. Not just the fans but analysts, etc. too. Not saying it’s not warranted in some respects but it’s a far cry from the love fest he’s received the last five years. He seems to be in a weird headspace with the low positive or whatever it is stuff he’s trying out. We already know he’s an emotional guy on account of how amped we’ve seen him get in the past. I’m hoping he keeps that mindset of being able to take criticism and work on himself and doesn’t let all of it affect him negatively. Wether it’s fair or not, the team goes as Josh goes, and for the most part Bills fans love him. My worry is that one day enough will be enough and he goes the Beasley route of us vs. them (Bills fans included in the them). I’d hate that if we ever did win it all it would be more in spite of us than for us. Again, I completely understand that in many cases it’s warranted, but he’s still young and we have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes with coaches, players, etc. I know right now it’s hard to be grateful and supportive, but the kid has given this team something we haven’t had in decades and he’s having a rough patch. This is a down year, many excuses to go around. But you know, no one feels it more than him. I believe he can right the ship, just might not be this season.
  18. I think that’s a big part of it. They all picked the Bills to win it all and when they didn’t, they were all proven wrong. Now they want nothing to do with them. I do get that though. They spend a few years singing their praises week after week and they fall short in the end. It causes a little burn-out. Heck, even I found myself a little disenchanted with the Bills and they’re my team. Could you imagine not being a fan? It’s gotta be like, okay, here they are again playing well in the regular season, and this year we’re not even playing all that well.
  19. Well… that takes care of my two biggest worries. It’s a bummer that Milano is out, but we were going into the season thinking lber was our biggest weakness anyway. Luckily Bernard turned out to be much better than we thought, so it’s basically like the start of the season. One good lber. Every team has a weakness, and at least we expected this one, though not the position we expected.
  20. I don’t know that it’s really that we won. I think it’s two teams needing to do different things because their clubs are in different spots. I’m very happy with the deal, and Packers fans do seem bummed, but, if they were being honest with themselves, the 3rd and money savings will be better for the long run. The Packers realistically have no shot at competing for anything meaningful during the years Douglas was signed for. Win-win.
  21. Yup. They’re just sad their team stinks.
  22. I’m sure he’d love to take a swing. Everything has to make sense. I’m hoping he can make sense of it.
