  1. You have to factor in that from a sheer numbers standpoint for every good QB there are 50 bad ones. So yes, you can get deep in the playoffs with a bad QB but you're talking 1:100 odds. I'll always take the field over any golfer, even if it's Tiger Woods or Vijay Singh. So back to a football standpoint, will Tom Brady win the Super Bowl every year? No. But he still gives you the best chance but of course a Trent Dilfer or Doug Williams will sneak one in, but we are talking about Powerball odds.
  2. Your HC will be lucky to make it past 3 years without a franchise QB.
  3. Daboll seems like a no BS kind of guy though doesn't he? Very McDermott like in many ways. Really focused and motivated, all business mentality. QB coach, WR coach, TE coach. His track record with the Browns, I don't hold that against him, that's not his fault, nobody is successful in Cleveland. In Miami his offense wasn't terrible for what they had. Between Matt Moore and Chad Henne they posted 20:13 TD/INT, Reggie Bush rushed for 5ypc 1,000+ yards. If we get that Brian Daboll with even a slightly above average QB, we can be dangerous. Shady should have a career year as well. Wouldn't mind Derrius Guice in the 1st round to solidify that backfield. There's some good things there, obviously working with Saban and Belichick excites me. Did we just steal BB's replacement for McDaniels? I'm optimistic. I think he is one of us and not only that, I think he fits in perfectly with our coaching staff, he'll fit right in here.
  4. I want to see Doug beat the Patriots and then watch JAX lose the Super Bowl.
  5. He has the right stuff to be a good QB. He needs a mentor, Mariota is an accurate QB and an intriguing protege to some coach out there. I don't think McDaniels is the right guy though, McDaniels would win a Super Bowl or two with Luck.
  6. This is probably the best thing to ever happen to Mariota. A talent like Mariota deserves a 'real' coach. I don't care what anybody says, Marcus Mariota is a top shelf talent, he needs someone who can develop him.
  7. I hope McDaniels goes to Indy because I am a huge Luck fan. I think Luck and McDaniels would be really good for the NFL.
  8. Moore is a professional. You don't draft a 20 year old and expect him to carry a franchise right away unless you're the Cleveland Browns. Expecting a rookie to be a savior is too much pressure, the idea is to buy him time to learn the playbook, take the pressure off, stall and buy as much time as possible.
  9. Moore would cost 60% less and would likely start 6 games max. I'm not big on drafting a 20 something year old to carry a franchise right away, now that's insanity.
  10. He had the 20th ranked offense with Matt Moore so if we needed a veteran presence, I'd strongly consider Matt Moore as a veteran/professional for 'Darnold' or any other rookie from this class to learn behind.
  11. I'm worried about our passing attack and I'm worried if Daboll can develop and groom a rookie QB. I think our run offense is going to get considerably better and I like the fact that Daboll is only 42. When you look back at his time with the Browns, Miami and the Chiefs, he was extremely young. Most people get older and wiser as time goes on, so when I look at his track record, I keep that in mind. He won 5 Super Bowls an assistant/positions coach and won one College Championship as an OC so clearly he is well thought of in elite coaching circles to the likes of Saban and Belichick. Love the fact that he is a WNY native as well. The million dollar question is, can he develop a QB? We all know he can run the ball.
  12. No. Otherwise we would be no better than Gronk and New England, we're better than them.
  13. I'd send them a 2nd this year and a 2nd next year. Similar to what the Chiefs did with Alex Smith. Fans want to trade for Smith when Dalton is a better player than Smith was at this point in his career. I think Dalton needs better coaching.
  14. The top 5 guys are 50/50 and I think that's because they are expected to be the 'guy' and carry a franchise, often with poor rosters. The early 2nd round have a much better success rate than I expected. Is it because they are going to a franchise where they are not expected to carry the franchise and be the 'guy' right away? Or is it because they are going to teams with a better roster around them? Does anybody really think Jimmy Garropolo would be the QB he is today had he went to the Browns and not New England? Having a solid prospect is important but drafting a prospect with a talented team around him is just as equally important to them not busting. I'm not big on expecting a 20 something year old to be a savior, they need to be handled properly. Sit them down behind a professional, build a roster around him and take the pressure off of him. That is just as important as which prospect you draft or where in the draft you take him.
  15. It all makes sense now. I never expected him to be an elite WR but I did think he would be a serviceable. I wanted Darboh and Kuup over Zay Jones but it's over with. This makes me respect Zay Jones a bit more, he is definitely no snowflake to be playing hurt like that.
  16. I want Bevell, mainly because McCoy doesn't want to be here but Bevell had a great run in Seattle, the second they traded Max Unger that whole line went down. I think Bevell is at the top of the list, at least how I humbly perceive things.
  17. Thanks for the kindness. Good luck to you and your Bengals. I've always liked the Bengals because I viewed you guys as the underdogs to the Ravens and Steelers, similar to the Bills and Patriots. From an outsider's perspective, be patient with Dalton. I'm not just saying this because he ended our drought, I'm saying this because I wanted the Bills to draft him and I followed him since his TCU days. He is good enough to win a Super Bowl with and he can elevate his team around him. Best of luck to you guys for sure. I hate the Steelers and Ravens!!
  18. Dalton is not the problem in Cinci. Marvin Lewis is the one constant. Dalton would take us to the playoffs, but why would they give him up for so little?
