Who's your "plate of crow" in the draft?
Victory Formation replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lamar Jackson will never pass for 4,000 yards in the NFL, but will have moderate success as a mid range starter for 3-4 seasons. Won't bust, better player than Tyrod, but won't live up to his 1st round status. Josh Rosen will have a moderately successful career, but riddled by injuries and character concerns, will become a journeyman QB that bounces around the league for 7-8 years. Sam Darnold makes multiple Pro Bowls, has success as a playoff QB, maybe a top 7-12 guy, but is never good enough to win a Super Bowl, he will have a career just like Tony Romo's. Josh Allen is an enigma to me. I think he can be the best QB in the draft bar none, but if he is drafted by the Browns or Jets I think he will be a draft bust. If he goes to the Giants or Broncos, he will become a top 3 QB in the NFL, needs to be handled correctly, Broncos would be great for him. Baker Mayfield, I think he has a better chance of having a solid NFL career than he does as a draft bust. Certain things bother me about him, but just like Josh Allen he has a certain attitude and Moxy about him that I like, reminds me of Kelly. Mason Rudolph, the forgotten man of the group, slips through the cracks and turns into a multiple 4,000 yard passer. Never turns into an elite player, but is a good starter that has a successful career, reminds me a lot of Philip Rivers, Rudolph is my dark horse in the draft. Kyle Lauletta. Has a successful career as a very high level backup, maybe even good enough to start on some teams, never becomes a good QB, but a traveling journeyman in the NFL. -
You and me both brother. I follow the prospects in RDS 1-3 because I like to get familiar with guys we draft. I'm also FAR from a scout, just a passionate fan with a worthless opinion. I like the team building aspect of football more than I enjoy watching the actual games.

No. We get a QB this year. Anything less than that is a failure. -
So What IF The Bills Trade UP
Victory Formation replied to DefenseWins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm curious if Rosen, Allen, Darnold or Mayfield fall to 10, that would be the time to move up. It would likely take 21 and 22, but we wouldn't be on the hook for anything more after that. -
I'd take a chance on him at 10 though, he has Big Ben potential with escapability and the way he extends plays, can throw the ball 70 yards off his back foot. Risky prospect, but I'm all in if he slides to 10. Would still have all of our other picks.

Difference between Jackson and Taylor
Victory Formation replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rudolph I could see throwing for 4,000 many times over his career, he has the higher ceiling. I think Jackson can accumulate 4,000 yards passing and rushing combined, but not with just his arm. If you bottle up Jackson in the pocket and force him to throw, I don't think he can carry you with his arm, Rudolph can. -

And then we have Lamar Jackson over Mason Rudolph, I mean are we serious? Jackson throwing for 4,000 yards is just as likely as Ivanka Trump giving me a BJ. -

I think black QBs are held to lower standards. You have guys like Kirk Cousins throw 4,000 yards back to back to back and he is only a top 12-15 QB. Cam Newton throws for 4,000 once in 7 years and he is hailed as an 'elite' franchise QB. -
21.) Mason Rudolph, QB, Oklahoma State 22.) Isaiah Wynn, OL, Georgia 53.) Tim Settle, DT, Virginia Tech 56.) Josey Jewells, LB, Iowa

Kyle Lauletta (Richmond) the target?

You're right, I thought you were talking about Rudolph, my bad. I was active in a Rudolph thread at the time I posted that, my fault. -
- I think there is a big drop off at center after Wynn and Price, might be smart to go there in the 1st. - Either of the Georgia RBs would be great in RD2. I'd say Sony Michel is the better of the two but Nick Chubb is not far behind. - DT is incredibly deep, should be a good player for us in RD2. Tim Settle is a beast, I also like Taven Bryan and RJ McIntosh. - Josey Jewells is going to be a dominant MLB in the NFL for a long time, I expect him to rise up draft boards, he is as good as anybody.
-
Anybody else like this guy? I've seen him listed as a 2nd-3rd round prospect, but honestly I think he is the 2nd best DT in the draft behind Vita Vea. He's a load, perfect guy to put next to Kyle Williams, he is awfully nimble for a guy so big.

Which I don't understand, Cam only threw for 4k+ one time in his entire career. His career passing % is 58.5%. Is Cam Newton the standard for passing? -

Under the right scenario I'd take him at 21. The risk/reward ratio is worth it imo. -

And that's a fair criticism, one I thought of myself before I posted, although I think Jackson will be better as a runner and as a passer than Tyrod, but their styles are one in the same. If you want a rhythm pocket passer, I don't think Lamar Jackson will ever be that guy. -
I'm right there with ya buddy, just stockpile as many picks as possible, hopefully stockpile picks for 2019 too. We are not just one piece away, we need as many picks as possible.

We're picking 21.... Just saying. -

If we did draft Jackson, I'd want to take advantage of him as a runner, I think it'd be a mistake not to. Run option, spread offense and of course sprinkles of a pro style offense. I do think he'll be way better than Taylor, but I don't think he'll ever be a 4,000 yard passer, he may get you 4,000 yards rushing/passing combined, maybe he could grow as a passer as time goes on, but forcing him to be a pocket QB early in his career is a really bad idea. -
They're pretty critical of White, Falk and Lauletta too. Outside of the top 5 they seem to have nothing nice to say about any of the 2nd round and lower round QBs, which makes sense, they'll be right most of the time, but at least 1 maybe 2 QBs drafted in the 2nd round or later will have a successful career and maybe 2-3 of the 1st round QBs will bust completely. The key is finding which guy is going to fall through the cracks.
