  1. OK ............. second time I watched that video and I still don't see Daboll being the problem pointed out by it. He clearly says that Brown didn't win vs Peters. He spends a ton of time on Knox dropping a 3rd down on a mesh concept. He explains we've done very well on "money" plays all season and not so well on them vs Baltimore. I counted 1 play where he said it could have been the playcall and that was assuming Allen was supposed to take a 1step drop on a play that was slower developing than what a one step drop would seem to be. Really most of the analysis would lead you to believe our OL needs to stop tripping over each other, Knox needs to get more consistant, and our WR's picked a bad week to have their worst games. Peters is a pretty good cb and it was clear Brown was going to have a tough time early on. That's what makes Knox, Beasley, and Singletary dropping passes even more critical. All that said I don't think Daboll is in the upper echelon of OC's but he's done a pretty good job and I still don't think he called a horrible game vs Baltimore. There's plays there we've made before that we didn't make in that game.
  2. I just hope we don't get Willie Parker'd again. We should have won that game and I hope we go out and get it done tonight.
  3. Just looking at the other box scores ............... boy Zay has blossomed for the Raiders.
  4. Brown does well for his size but he's not Hopkins or Julio Jones and even if he was Peters is one of the best physical corners. They were pressing Brown with Peters because Peters had the size advantage and is best in press coverage. I'm not trying to say Brown ran a good route. I'm saying I still don't think he's lazy he just didn't get it done on that play.

  6. Jackson was more accurate and more consistent on Sunday. I'm not sure why that bothers everyone so much. I'd be more upset if we had no answers for anything but it's really pretty simple. Allen starts hitting even half of the throws when we get behind the defense and we start scoring more points. I think he can do it and I can't think of a better time than the next couple of weeks when we are making a playoff push. No doubt in my mind that defenses will be giving him opportunities.
  7. Singletary has been pretty good in every game he's played but Gore seems like he has a much harder time coming in rotational. Gore had some pretty good games as the starter but doesn't seem to find his rythm off the bench.
  8. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say the first two drives could have ended in long TD's. Singletary outside on a LB very well could have been a TD. There were plays called that should have worked.
  9. It worked on the final drive when Singletary picked up 13 ............... and then we were called for an holding on the play and it came back ?
  10. At the risk of sounding like a broken record I blame a bit of it on missing the deep throws. Not trying to be down on Allen but several games we come out looking to back them off the LOS and after missing deep the whole first half we change it up and start moving the ball. The NE and Raven's games in particular we came out throwing down the field and after missing on several big throws had to rethink things because we couldn't make them pay. Dallas and Denver we hit big throws and made them pay although even then it wasn't out of the gate.
  11. It doesn't matter if we had a "big playmaker" if Allen isn't hitting them. We already have guys running open behind the secondary and Allen isn't hitting them. I believe he'll come around but like people are saying he's going to get blitzed until he makes them pay.
  12. I'm pretty sure the Singletary drop in the flat and then the Dawson drop were back to back which is a drive killer.
  13. I don't know that Roman becoming a head coach will or would say anything about his offense. Wade Phillips is one of the best DC in the game but he's never been a good HC.
  14. Playing well is different than lighting up the fantasy board. He was playing a great defense and he managed. We held him in check and that is a win. He didn't look like an MVP and that is a win. All that said we've made many QB's look far worse and it's a compliment to say given how good our defense is the fact that I'm saying Lamar played well with his non eye popping numbers is a good thing. It's also a compliment to Lamar when I say he made the plays he had to make to win. Allen was pretty close and that's a compliment to him also.
  15. SF crashed when the defense had all the injuries (Willis never did come back) and couldn't stop anyone. Roman was fired when we gave up 37 to the Jets in a 37 to 31 loss which I will continue to say he was scape goated for Ryan's defense and the Baltimore story is still being written. He's already been to a SB and may well go back this year.
  16. To expound on what you've already said, this is the offense that took Kaepernick to the SB, Tyrod Taylor to the Pro Bowl 2 years in a row and now is setting all kinds of rushing and scoring records in Baltimore. It is most definitely sustainable.
  17. He threw 3 TD's. We did a good job with him but he still played well and that's without his favorite target.
  18. I mean it's completely nitpicking (I've done it myself) and even with a perfect throw who's to say Peter's couldn't get there. Peters is really good and he was playing slant all the way. Allens pass was pretty good. It was one play.
  19. I probably made that sound wrong. I'm with you. I like the throw. Seems like about the best play he had on that down. I was trying to say on just the last play there's lots of hindsight as to what would have been a perfect play or throw but like you said I like the throw. Really there are a number of plays over the course of the whole game that put us where we were and in that case Peters made a play.
  20. There are teams where we can play tough D and grind and then there are teams where you need to be perfect and Baltimore, NE, and probably KC are on the have to be perfect list. If we are just saving that perfect game for the playoffs as long as they pull it out then I'm fine with that.
  21. The whole if "if ifs and buts were candy and nuts ..........." Allen could have put it a little more in front of him. Maybe Brown could have fought more. Also let's face it, Peters is no slouch. He's shut down much better recievers than Brown and I'm not knocking Brown when I say that. Really the penalty a couple plays before turned the heat up on that last drive. We played a tough team right down to the wire. No shame in that.
  22. Mahommes just pulled a Josh Allen.
  23. I lol'd at Many Lawson. How old would that guy be now :).
  24. I mean people keep running at Daboll with the pitchforks but here we are talking about missed TD's on deep passes and drops on short passes. 2 plays before the fouth down we had a screen that picked up something like 17 yards called back for a penalty. I'm not sure Daboll is the one shooting the offense in the foot.
  25. I'm not calling us a championship team but for pete's sake hasn't anyone ever heard the saying "that's why you play the game"? We were playing what is the favorite team to win it all and if Allen hits Foster early or Singletary late or stops taking sacks inside the 30 yard line it's entirely possible we score enough to win that game. No we are not the favorites but we are going to be there with a chance.
