  1. Cook also took the schepter this week. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2008631209921659
  2. For all the focus on pass rushing DT's we draft stiff pocket collapsing DE's not bendy, twitchy pass rushers. Most of the DE's we draft are 25 pounds away from being the same DT's we draft.
  3. Bosa almost had 2 sacks in 3 plays versus the Panthers. Got called for tripping. Add in Bosa's 4 forced fumbles and the fact that he has a pretty friendly contract and Bosa is a pretty good deal.
  4. No draft capitol. Just sign Robbie Chosen off the Commanders practice squad. Guy ran a 4.36 40 coming out. He's had good production in the NFL and had 4 catches when the Commanders called him up just a week ago. Not my favorite WR but AJ Brown isn't available and Chosen has the speed and experience to maybe make a difference where the rest of the 4.6 guys we have do not. Worst case scenario it doesn't cost us a thing other than a roster spot.
  5. McDaniels does a great job of protecting Maye. He also has a decent defense keeping most games close. NE is probably where Denver was last year. Maye runs into a team that scores enough to make him throw 40 times a game against a good defense we'll get a better idea of whether he's arrived or not.
  6. McDermott defenses have never been great at stopping the run with any consistency. We usually survive that or compensate with getting negative plays and pushing them into longer down and distances. The difference is that the last two years this defense can't cover. I even think our pass rush is better than it's ever been especially when our starting line is healthy. Again the difference is that the pass rush isn't very effective when someone is always open at the snap. I hope Hairston is a huge upgrade at corner and Bishop continues to make progress. Maybe Poyer has something left in the tank or the let Hancock get in there and he shows something. Either way we need to find a way to cover the other teams pass catchers and give the pass rush a chance. Beyond that I certainly can agree the tackling is a pretty big problem as well.
  7. Rather than burning draft capitol I'd go practice squad diving. Nick Nash (Atlanta) and Keondre Jackson (Baltimore) would both be upgrades to what we currently have. Nash is a big bodied former QB with a nice burst who knows how to get open. Not a speedster but neither is Puca. Jackson is a big hitting safety who had coverage concerns but through the bowl games and preseason looked pretty solid. He's not a speedster but neither was Rapp. At least Jackson is young healthy and willing to bring down some RB's. I wanted Mukuba but speedy coverage safeties are just not sitting around on practice squads waiting to get snatched up. Hopefully Hancock gets some looks at some point.
  8. We're not scoring 30 vs Spags? Last year we scored 29 and 30 vs Spags.
  9. Your writing a bunch of checks here that have an Amari Cooper's chance of being cashed.
  10. Truth be told I wanted Mooney when he was a free agent. Before he signed with the Falcons. He seeemed like the route runner and field stretcher we could use. I was hoping Cooper would play more like AJ Brown has in Philly. There were flashes but over all I'm still not sure how interested our offense is in game planning the WR's open down the field. I'd love a legit outside threat I'm just not sold that we value getting the ball out there.
  11. So let me get this right. Adding players on offense works because it's not the coaching? Our only problem on offense is that we don't have a better outside WR's? Adding players on defense makes no sense because the only problem is coaching and not the players on the field?
  12. We should definitely use our first pick on a WR! A big one that goes up and gets the ball like a basketball player. Coach Booger might have a good ring to it if he ever feels like coaching.
  13. Despite seeming difficult on this subject it's not that I wouldn't like more of a verticle threat at WR. I guess I just think first and foremost this teams offensive philosophy QB play dictates the WR production. Since Brady has taken over we've made the move to higher percentage throws as a first read and most of our WR routes seem more geared toward clearing coverage for a TE sail route or screen. There are plenty of guys here who could run the Gabe Davis routes of the past and I bet they are there and open but it's probably the last read or turned down for a higher percentage throw almost every time. I would certainly like to have the offense have more of a vertical push but despite everyone's push for a WR to get it done I'd argue that it starts with Brady and Allen.
  14. So we score 30 or more 13 out of the last 20 games Allen has started and averaging close to 30 but if we don't trade for a WR our offense isn't capable of winning?
  15. Lattimore is having a BAD game. Haven't heard Amos's name at all. I'm going to assume that's good. Wait Turpin just ran by him.
  16. If only we had anyone as fast as Boutte or Hollins ......... so much speed on that team.
  17. Thought Mukuba got the RB two plays in a row but I guess he got in by a hair ........
  18. Right on cue .............
  19. News flash ............. Carson Wentz still sucks. Watching him now I can't fathom how he played at a high level for a couple of years.
  20. I don't deny the downfield threat thing. That said I don't think go routes are our answer even with a speedy player to run them. We need in breaking routes, sail routes, and attacking the seam (vs 2 high) or deep crossers (vs single high) and we just don't scheme them up for our WR's. We run the sails for Kincaid and our WR's crossers are generally shorter routes to free up Kincaid or Shakir. All of this works fine when Allen is seeing thigs well and getting the ball out. Even when defenses are trying to stop it. I'll put on my flame suit here and tell you I believe outside of winning go routes with speed I actually think Coleman could get used better and be far more productive. Most of our current passing issues (the last two weeks) have started in Allen's head and Brady's game plans.
  21. One of my favorite fallacies to read is how such and such a WR would equal us throwing bombs down the field. It could happen but stating it like it's an undisputed truth is a little heavy handed.
  22. It was just a few weeks ago injuries were killing them. It's a long season.
  23. My favorite draft prospect that I thought we had a chance to land was Tory Horton who has looked pretty damn good when he's in the game as a WR and kick returner. That's water under the bridge at this point but he was there in the 5th round and he's probably better than everyone but Palmer and Shakir on our roster. To Coleman's credit if they targeted him on something other than go routes and screens he might have a chance. The guy should get some in breaking routes and some sail routes.
  24. Throwing up jump balls there. Even Stafford and Adams having a hard time and Adams was wide open.
