Rock-A-Bye Beasley replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With the 18th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft the Philadelphia Eagles select Andraez "Greedy" Williams, CB, Louisiana State University. -
A look at the current roster

Zay and/or duke -
Again stop putting words in my mouth. I’m not a doctor. I said if the doctors think it’s an issue then don’t draft him. Also never said Oliver isn’t a physical freak. I’d just rather have Metcalf and a later round DT than Oliver and a later round WR
-
Never said he's terrible, just comparable to a lot of other players at his position for pass rushing. While I don't think Metcalf is comparable to any of the receivers. Hopefully this time my point is clear enough so you can stop putting words in my mouth and using sarcasm as a debate tactic. It's not clever or funny and it's not combating any points being made.

Look at the non-zero pass rushing numbers
-
I said years pass without a player like Metcalf. Is Oliver that much better than Jeffrey Simmons? Is he better at all? His best skill is run stopping, and his pass rushing is above average. I posted this link earlier in the thread: https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/draft-how-ed-olivers-pass-rushing-was-held-back-by-houstons-scheme This is supposed to help Oliver's case for lack of pass rush production (lack of production is often held against Metcalf, but not Oliver btw), but all it does for me is point out that there are at least 6-7 DTs that are not only comparable at pass rushing but better. And I only care about the pass rushing because that's the skill that is most valuable/rare.

Nope did't say that
-
The point is there are players in the 2nd and 3rd round that can provide what Oliver provides. But there are no players like Metcalf, sometimes for years. He's not just a size/speed combo. He was already considered the top WR before this past season and combine. The injury is the only reason he might be available at 9 since he was on pace for a huge year. Edit: and he fits the draft profile of McBeane of rare size/speed/talent in the first.

And our WRs were fine? Who was scared of Dallas or Baltimore playmakers last year? It was a national storyline that Cowboys needed to get Dak more help and they did. Although I like the signings more help is needed. Run stopping is an easier fix. You don't need to spend a top 10 pick to stop the run.

The good news is the Bills will check on the medical part. If it's a concern he won't be drafted by us. I trust the Bills medical staff much more than your fear of the word neck

"After running the numbers, the good news for Metcalf is that there are a few recent instances of receivers who had poor agility testing and found success in the NFL." My concern about Oliver: https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/draft-how-ed-olivers-pass-rushing-was-held-back-by-houstons-scheme Because this is supposed to be a video defending his lack of senior year production, but look at the rankings even when adjusted for scheme. He's still well below Jerry Tillery and others when it comes to pass rush from 3tech.

Thought Harrison Phillips was that guy. Where was Kyle drafted again? Who's our highest paid player next year? Jordan and Harrison Phillips weren't even on the team this time last year. We added 3 DT and lost one to retirement in the last year.

TSW Mock Draft 2.0 - Completed!!
Rock-A-Bye Beasley replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Williams is considered a much better prospect, but I’d rather the Bills stay put in real life. However, for this mock isn’t simulating a trade the whole point? -
@NewEra How can you possibly be confused by this sentence? Yeah that makes sense. Same for dline I want two #2 DTs instead of one really good one. And also for O line I want two decent tackles and not one elite guy. Actually come to think of it I'm glad tre white came back down to earth a little last year because I wouldn't want a #1 corner, I prefer two #2 corners and two slot corners.

Shocking Brady and Brees can pull that off!
-
Yes l want Metcalf

Offense or Defense in Round 1

You mean you weren’t quaking in your boots before the season opener last year knowing we had to face Brown?! -
Offense or Defense in Round 1
Rock-A-Bye Beasley replied to BillsVet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m usually a BPA guy but when your offense and defense are this far apart in the rankings you take offense. All year people complained about the offense and were told not to worry because we are going to use draft picks and free agency to fix it. Now most on this board are hoping for Oliver. A defensibe tackle would upset me for a number of reasons. 1) He will be the 2nd or 3rd DT off the board and 5th or 6th d lineman. As opposed to the best player at OT, WR, or TE. If this draft is so deep at DT then there will be a player that can fit into our rotation later in the draft. 2) the aforementioned rotation means a DT will not be on the field every play. With a top 10 pick I want a player that will be on the field every play. 3) we have been through this with Dareus. He was the BPA supposedly. AJ green went one pick later. I know it happens the other way around (Sammy over Mack) but no one really knows who the best player is going to be. 4) we don’t need a Kyle Williams replacement. I keep seeing this on mock drafts as a reason to take a DT at 9. Phillips wasn’t on the team this time last year. His one year deal is just smart cap management. Harrison was pumped up as Kyles eventual replacement. What happened to that? Star is the highest paid player on the team. He cannot be cut for two more years after this one without serious dead cap. -
Is Quinnen Williams the next Dareus?
Rock-A-Bye Beasley replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shhhh....Dareus is still good... .https://www.profootballfocus.com/nfl/players/marcell-dareus/6155
