  1. Oh you got your opinion from someone else? Even lazier! ive seen that article. He glosses over the 2018 per-game production by saying he only had this many yards then got hurt. A lot of opinions on this thread are nuanced and informed on both sides. Don’t come in here with a two word dismissal of a player that has already been disputed back and forth many times over then try to say it’s not lazy by posting a link to bleacher report with no additional insight. None of these players were considered first round picks before the combine. Metcalf was considered the top WR before last season and was on pace for elite production THEN he ran a 4.33 (somehow that’s a negative for some people)
  2. Youre just flat out wrong about his lack of production. Look at his game stats from last year before the injury.
  3. Injury history is the only one of those that kind of scares me. However since I’m not a doctor I’ll leave that to them. Route tree was a product of his strengths and the ole miss play calling. When you have a guy that’s 6’4” and can run a 4.33 40 why wouldn’t you have him run a go, post, corner every play? Especially when you have AJ Brown able to run the other routes. Production is a result of the injuries. Go look at his numbers in the individual games he played in last year.
  4. Dk was considered the top WR by many before the combine AND before the season. Combine warrior label is lazy analysis.
  5. I for one would take him first overall so I guess we neutralize each other lol
  6. We definitely need WR still.
  7. I hope we don't draft a linebacker at all. This is a weak linebacker class and we have 2 young solid starters. Only need 2 on the field most of the time. Add depth through vet free agent pickups after the draft.

  9. A report came out a few months ago that Trump paid someone to spread the rumor that Bon Jovi was planning to move the team. Even went as far to plant news stories about bars in Buffalo banning Bon Jovi music
  10. You have fun watching any DT we add at this point sitting on the sidelines for about 40% of defensive snaps.
  11. Love the DK pick but why would anyone want Zay Jones?
  12. Google DK Metcalf scouting report. First thing I see from each person at the draft network: ”Route Running –Shows very good footwork at the line of scrimmage to defeat press coverage and create false steps. Does well to bend back across the face of leveraged defenders on vertical stems. Explosive through breaks and create separation. -Crabbs Routes - Wins routes early with dynamic hand and footwork in his release. Knows how to work his route stem to manipulate the corner, establish leverage and sell his breaks. Hasn't be tasked with running an overly expansive route tree but the traits are present to be an outstanding route-runner and separator in the NFL. Rare acceleration for his size and springs explosively out of his breaks. Understands where zone coverage is soft and adjusts. Alters his tempo effectively. -Marino Route-Running - Let's talk about what is his fault: Metcalf needs to show better attention to detail in his patterns at times, breaking his routes off more exactly, showing a better awareness of the sideline and being more efficient with his footwork. Outside of his control however, is an Ole Miss offense that asked him to predominantly run hitches, curls, comebacks and nine routes, operating only on a vertical plane that made things very simple for defensive backs who had done their tape study. How Metcalf managed his production is a testament to his other-worldly talent in a scheme that didn't make things easy on him. -Ledyard Route Running – Metcalf aligned almost exclusively on the outside of the offensive formation to the left-hand side. Playing out there in the SEC, he faced plenty of press or bump coverages. However, Metcalf had a ton of success with his press coverage releases. With footwork that can be a blur for his size, he would re-set the line of scrimmage and discard the jam with violent hands. Metcalf takes full advantage of his strength and length combination while facing press. With an arsenal of hand swipes and proper anticipation, he dominates the contact window. Extremely physical route runner at the top of his stems when he has to be, clearing space with violence. Consistently worked downhill towards the quarterback when necessary. Metcalf showed acceleration after beating press coverage or on vertical cuts. Mostly operating on the vertical plane, he understands how to threaten side to side before continuing down the field. Makes a conscious effort to stack defensive backs right after his route breaks. Metcalf has technique issues that limit his speed on curl and comeback breaks. He’ll rarely take the least amount of steps necessarily, needing to pause at the top of his route for a moment. Metcalf was rarely asked to run in-breaking routes in the Rebels offense, but there are enough examples on his film to suggest moderate success in that area moving forward.-Kelly
  13. Jenkins went 51 to dolphins
  14. I can understand the stance that the defensive players available when we pick will be much better prospects, therefore we need to go defense despite being ranked #2 and offense #31. (Even if I might disagree) I can’t understand how anyone can watch last year’s team and think we should go defense all things being equal. A star receiver will help regardless of any other factors. An offensive tackle will also help and would play 100 percent of offensive snaps when healthy compared to a DT playing 60%
  15. Why would Beane pull out of the deal? Because he needs that 15 million cap space this year for who? Why even begin negotiations if you’re not willing to pay Brown? I’m very concerned if that contract he signed with the raiders was the reason Beane backed out, as you’re saying. Also, Beane said we have “moved on” that could mean Antonio refused to consider coming to Buffalo so we moved on. Pegula said Antionio didn’t want to come here.
  16. Great post until the bolded. Not only has everyone said otherwise including Terry Pegula, but you really think Beane is dumb enough to expect to trade for Brown and not give him a new contract? Not to mention the fact that the contract he got from the raiders would be absolutely fine for us. It’s basically 2years guaranteed when we have more than enough cap space. I don’t know why posters on here need to it to be otherwise, but AB not wanting to come to Buffalo at least doesn’t make Beane look like an idiot.
  17. Phew Texans took a safety and corner but neither are the one(s) we were looking at. Biggest needs for the eagles are probably interior online/dline depth and linebacker. However, no one left in this draft are a clear upgrade to start at those positions imo. Also, depth can be added with our two 4th rounders. So we will he attempting to upgrade the safety spot across from Malcom Jenkins by moving who I think is best player available from CB to Safety. With the 57th pick the Eagles select Joejuan Williams CB, Vanderbilt He will be moved to safety and provide corner depth if the secondary is decimated by injuries again. Taylor Rapp was an option here but decided to go with the 6’4” prospect who supposedly improved his 40 time from 4.6 at the combine to 4.55 at his pro day. Before the combine was considered by some to be a late 1st early 2nd pick. @BuffaloHokie13 is on the clock
  18. What about Dareus over AJ Green?
  19. Draft value only makes sense when you're talking about salaries imo. Barkley wasn't a bad value in terms of talent, but he was instantly the 5th highest paid running back, therefore bad value. People are using the term in this thread in an attempt to say no to WR at 9. I dont see any reason why Metcalf would be bad value at 9. Taking a TE on the other hand... https://www.watchfantom.com/the-three-highest-and-lowest-paid-offensive-nfl-positions/ not sure where WR falls but it's probably close behind RT
  20. I also hate how sacks are counted. If hypothetically a guy had 8 half sacks that’s 8 good plays, but it shows up as 4 sacks. It should be separate numbers for example 5 sacks and 3 half sacks Also, what about having him gain 10 lbs and putting him inside? Heard Sal Capaccio say today on WGR that Ed Oliver’s playing weight will be around 270-275 so why not try Shaq there?
  21. Wouldn’t an extension be cheaper? If the 5th year option is declined is he eligible? Still only 24 years old.
  22. Exactly. The two Devin MLBs were gone so DB is biggest need remaining, especially considering all the injuries in the secondary last season. Byron Murphy might be a better scheme fit but Greedy's prototypical size/speed/talent is too much to pass up. Eagles can address oline and dline depth later on.
