  1. The fact he played QB at a high level at the collegiate level and was a winner, leads me to believe that this will be very good for Josh's further development...even though it could be argued Josh is fully developed. The mental game is now at the forefront, I think...reading defenses, beating coverages, etc. He and Josh have a great relationship already. So, I absolutely love this move!
  2. I posted my initial impression based on knowing very little about Tee Martin as a coach other than his short time at Baltimore. From what I've read about him he has a much more extensive background than I realized and is a solid candidate.
  3. They are obligated to interview at least one minority before making a decision on a candidate. This fills that requirement.
  4. If he's smart, he goes to the NFC. Not many elite QBs. Should be easier to find success. AFC is much more competitive.
  5. McGahee was a good back. He just hated being in Buffalo. Better to have flashbacks of Thurman Thomas.
  6. My deepest sympathies at the loss of your beloved Dad. I know you'll cherish memories and honor his legacy as an avid Bills fan. He's now with many of our parents watching the Bills from the best seats in the house. May he rest in peace and you in comfort.
  7. Thank you! This win by Cincy has nothing to do with the Bills. It was two teams that played an exciting game...and in fact only proves what Josh Allen said that, even if things had played out differently last week, it would guarantee nothing following. I'm happy for the Bengals. If they win the Super Bowl, great for their fans. If they lose, they lose. At least that team is now part of the conversation again after so many years of paper bags on heads. And KC got humbled, especially their fans. No chocolate cake for Andy Reid. He'll drown his sorrows in a cheeseburger instead and start planning for next year like the Bills are. The AFC is going to be fun to watch in years to come!
  8. The key with Cincy's sacks was that they didn't run after Mahomes aggressively like the Bills did. The rushers hung back forcing him to back pedal and they herded him toward the eventual tackler. Hopefully, McD was watching.
  9. I'm rooting for the Bengals and the Rams. Then, I would be happy with either team winning the SB...Cinci since they've never won it and we can identify with their fans and Rams because I'd love to see Matt Stafford get a ring after wasting all those years in Detroit.
  10. Offensive coordinators ride with their QBs. Look at Andy Reid as an offensive HC. He was good but not "great" until Mahomes came along. With Josh's success, it was inevitable that we would lose Daboll. We will have to wait and see what the new OC brings to the table but I have every confidence that our offense will be successful as long as we have Josh and receivers that can get open and catch the ball. If we have a better running game as well...that's just frosting on the cake.
  11. Quite honestly, I think he did. Maybe he wanted to show he could call a good running game. In fact, Mike Robinson talked about that very thing on GMFB saying he's seen coordinators try to showcase themselves in anticipation of head coaching consideration.
  12. That's a stretch since Daboll calls the plays and McD wouldn't usurp his power mid game. It may be that Dorsey realizes Daboll is a tough act to follow. If he's OC and the Bills offense declines, the finger would point at Dorsey. In NY if the offense fails they can blame a new system, the QB, not enough weapons etc.
  13. They have to. Beane mentioned league rules.
  14. This could make sense, since Daboll's link to Miami and a second interview would prompt the Giants to want to move fast.
  15. That's all most fans can hope for...get 'em next year. At least the Bills are now in the conversation. Think of where we were only 5 short years ago. We had very little, if anything, to hope for. The NFL is a year-to year-league. Yes, there are "dynasties" so to speak, but on any given Sunday, any team can beat another. There have been generational players that have led to a lot of wins and a lot of Super Bowls...Tom Brady being one. On KC, I'd say not only Mahomes, but also Tyreek and Kelce. It's that threesome that makes that team the "gold standard" as Beane points out. We can say "this was our year." Well, obviously, it wasn't. From year to year, a team has to be good, and healthy and lucky, to make it to and win the SB. The Bills were good...but not healthy (missing their best corner in Tre) and they weren't lucky (losing the coin toss). Had the Bills won the coin toss and won the game, that last 13 seconds would have been at most an irritation, a bullet dodged that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. That would still have not been a guarantee that we were SB bound, destined to win. Yes...as a Bills fan, we've faced some pretty painful losses. When you get to this point in the season, every loss is painful, because it's one and done. There is no tomorrow. There is only next season. And we as Bills fans, unlike the vast number of fan bases in the league, have very real hope that yes...we will get 'em next year... because we have our generational player in Josh Allen.
  16. No...we are not one wide receiver away from a championship. Use the draft picks on our own guys and develop them.
  17. Let's just put you guys in charge of morale.
  18. I watched and listened to the interview on One Bills Live today. Palmer talked about the areas of the game that Josh has learned to control...the last one this year being controlling his own emotions. Now it's up to winning the games they should win by learning from what went wrong in those few moments where Josh could have played better. Really fascinating stuff. It's worth the listen.
  19. Beane also likes depth. He knows they need to get faster on the defensive side of the ball. I expect they will be targeting CBs in the draft.
  20. How many new threads have to be created on this topic??? Mods can we please merge this with one of the other 86 similar topics?
  21. I don't recall when Sean McDermott was defensive coordinator in Carolina, that he played a passive, "prevent" scheme. I do remember Frazier doing a lot of that in Minnesota. In his presser, he mentioned "execution" not only as respect to the kickoff in those 13 seconds, but also the defensive plays that followed.
  22. Frazier, I believe, wanted the Chicago job. It looks like Ryan Pole from KC will be hired as their next GM. I don't believe Frazier is under consideration by the Bears for HC. I believe second interviews are Quinn and Caldwell.
  23. I stated earlier in another thread that if Frazier cannot adjust his defensive philosophy, he does need to move on. We've been bounced from the playoffs in each of the past three years with a big piece of that due to his passive defense.
  24. You know he has to be champing at the bit.
  25. I can't disagree with any of this. I would as a fan like to know "Why?" And as McD said in his presser without throwing anyone under the bus, that for a team like the Bills who practices situational football and situational awareness, to fail to "execute", you have to believe that something that was intended, didn't occur as expected. So fans that ask "why?" are fine. It's those with the "off with their heads", "fire everyone" mentalities that need to follow Josh's example. You do not make permanent decisions based on temporary emotions.
