  1. Oh I agree we need a solid punter. I just wouldn't draft one with a midround pick.
  2. I would not use a 3rd or 4th round pick on a punter...particularly since the Bills don't punt very often in most games.
  3. People don't sit indoors and watch TV in LA. They attend games, particularly the college games...USC and UCLA especially...in person.
  4. I haven't lost interest, although I was totally uninterested in this Superbowl. Admittedly, I did not want to see the Chiefs, but I could not root for the Bengals because of the cockiness of Burrow. I was largely unimpressed with the game, except for the defense of the Rams, aka Aaron Donald. The man took over that game and willed his team to win. He likely should have been the MVP. I think I grew disenchanted with the Bills because of how the defense flamed out in that Chiefs game. We can only hope that the coaches learned from the error of their ways, but we have to wait until next season to see if they did. Hoping to see some Beane magic to create the cap space we need as well as who he's targeting in the draft.
  5. I do agree with this, but Frazier does seem to revert to being conservative in big games.
  6. Game wouldn't have been this close if Rams would have had more than one WR. They missed Higbee and when OBJ went down all they had was Kupp.
  7. It seems to me that if you awarded the picks to the team doing the hiring of the minority coach/executive, versus the team losing the coach/executive, it actually might work. Part of the problem is that most of the minority coordinators are on the defensive side of the ball. With teams favoring offensive minded head coaches this year (or so it seems with the exception of Eberflus who was ironically hired by a Black GM), the only minority coordinators on that side of the ball were Byron Leftwich (with Brady as QB), Eric Bienimy (with Andy Reid mostly calling that offense) and Eric Studsville (co-coordinator on Miami). I would expect that the teams still looking for head coaches will also mostly favor the offensive side: The Jags to develop Lawrence, the Vikings (since Zimmer was defensive), Saints (with their success with Payton), Dolphins (to develop Tua). The Texans will be lucky to find anyone to take that job. Actually, they would be smart to hire Flores, if he'd take the job. That would be interesting.
  8. He's done in the NFL anyway. The whole system is a sham. The Giants clearly wanted Daboll because of his proposed skill set in developing QBs. They picked from the Belichick tree in Judge and that didn't pan out. So I think the decision to hire Daboll had little to do with race. The Rooney rule forced them to look at alternative candidates...specifically minorities. It's understandable that Flores was upset at not getting a real interview. He was also handed a raw deal by Miami. In some instances, GMs know who they want to hire. The hot coordinators are always at the top of everyone's lists. Coaches have ideas who they want as coordinators. The Bills selected Dorsey because of continuity with the system. He was no less qualified than the other minority candidates they did interview, but he had the advantage of being already a part of the Bills system. If minorities are being considered only for the sake of the Rooney rule, then it is clearly not doing what it is intended to do. If you look at incumbent coordinators, you see some who are minorities that are being considered, I think legitimately. The majority of coordinators, however, are not minorities. It's a matter of getting hot at the right time. I don't think you can really paint a single broad-brush stroke on this matter. It will be interesting to see how it unfolds.
  9. The fact he played QB at a high level at the collegiate level and was a winner, leads me to believe that this will be very good for Josh's further development...even though it could be argued Josh is fully developed. The mental game is now at the forefront, I think...reading defenses, beating coverages, etc. He and Josh have a great relationship already. So, I absolutely love this move!
  10. I posted my initial impression based on knowing very little about Tee Martin as a coach other than his short time at Baltimore. From what I've read about him he has a much more extensive background than I realized and is a solid candidate.
  11. They are obligated to interview at least one minority before making a decision on a candidate. This fills that requirement.
  12. If he's smart, he goes to the NFC. Not many elite QBs. Should be easier to find success. AFC is much more competitive.
  13. McGahee was a good back. He just hated being in Buffalo. Better to have flashbacks of Thurman Thomas.
  14. My deepest sympathies at the loss of your beloved Dad. I know you'll cherish memories and honor his legacy as an avid Bills fan. He's now with many of our parents watching the Bills from the best seats in the house. May he rest in peace and you in comfort.
  15. Thank you! This win by Cincy has nothing to do with the Bills. It was two teams that played an exciting game...and in fact only proves what Josh Allen said that, even if things had played out differently last week, it would guarantee nothing following. I'm happy for the Bengals. If they win the Super Bowl, great for their fans. If they lose, they lose. At least that team is now part of the conversation again after so many years of paper bags on heads. And KC got humbled, especially their fans. No chocolate cake for Andy Reid. He'll drown his sorrows in a cheeseburger instead and start planning for next year like the Bills are. The AFC is going to be fun to watch in years to come!
  16. The key with Cincy's sacks was that they didn't run after Mahomes aggressively like the Bills did. The rushers hung back forcing him to back pedal and they herded him toward the eventual tackler. Hopefully, McD was watching.
  17. I'm rooting for the Bengals and the Rams. Then, I would be happy with either team winning the SB...Cinci since they've never won it and we can identify with their fans and Rams because I'd love to see Matt Stafford get a ring after wasting all those years in Detroit.
  18. Offensive coordinators ride with their QBs. Look at Andy Reid as an offensive HC. He was good but not "great" until Mahomes came along. With Josh's success, it was inevitable that we would lose Daboll. We will have to wait and see what the new OC brings to the table but I have every confidence that our offense will be successful as long as we have Josh and receivers that can get open and catch the ball. If we have a better running game as well...that's just frosting on the cake.
  19. Quite honestly, I think he did. Maybe he wanted to show he could call a good running game. In fact, Mike Robinson talked about that very thing on GMFB saying he's seen coordinators try to showcase themselves in anticipation of head coaching consideration.
  20. That's a stretch since Daboll calls the plays and McD wouldn't usurp his power mid game. It may be that Dorsey realizes Daboll is a tough act to follow. If he's OC and the Bills offense declines, the finger would point at Dorsey. In NY if the offense fails they can blame a new system, the QB, not enough weapons etc.
  21. They have to. Beane mentioned league rules.
  22. This could make sense, since Daboll's link to Miami and a second interview would prompt the Giants to want to move fast.
  23. That's all most fans can hope for...get 'em next year. At least the Bills are now in the conversation. Think of where we were only 5 short years ago. We had very little, if anything, to hope for. The NFL is a year-to year-league. Yes, there are "dynasties" so to speak, but on any given Sunday, any team can beat another. There have been generational players that have led to a lot of wins and a lot of Super Bowls...Tom Brady being one. On KC, I'd say not only Mahomes, but also Tyreek and Kelce. It's that threesome that makes that team the "gold standard" as Beane points out. We can say "this was our year." Well, obviously, it wasn't. From year to year, a team has to be good, and healthy and lucky, to make it to and win the SB. The Bills were good...but not healthy (missing their best corner in Tre) and they weren't lucky (losing the coin toss). Had the Bills won the coin toss and won the game, that last 13 seconds would have been at most an irritation, a bullet dodged that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. That would still have not been a guarantee that we were SB bound, destined to win. Yes...as a Bills fan, we've faced some pretty painful losses. When you get to this point in the season, every loss is painful, because it's one and done. There is no tomorrow. There is only next season. And we as Bills fans, unlike the vast number of fan bases in the league, have very real hope that yes...we will get 'em next year... because we have our generational player in Josh Allen.
  24. No...we are not one wide receiver away from a championship. Use the draft picks on our own guys and develop them.
  25. Let's just put you guys in charge of morale.
