I love Derrick Henry but he's critical for the Titans so I don't expect him to be available. As to Daboll, I agree there is something amiss there. Allen loves him though. I think his personnel usage is the most suspect. Using Singletary vs Gore, for example, might have had different outcomes. We had too many weaknesses on offense that changing personnel led to an obvious drop off. I agree with you that we need to make offense the priority. If we can improve the personnel so we have more depth on that side of the ball (like we did on defense), I'm willing to stay with Daboll for another year. We'll see what McD wants to do.

This is a good post. I give the Bills an extra year because they didn't have their QB year one. Every team should get better next year. You watch many of the premier teams this year, certain sides of the ball didn't become elite until they drafted that critical piece or made a coaching move (e.g SF defense needed Bosa, Ravens needed Greg Roman). What the Bills do in this off season will be critical. As fans we see obvious needs...another edge rusher, a big, sure-handed WR, RT, a RB to complement Singletary. What do you see as that most critical piece?

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - All Part of the Process
jkeerie replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually what I described was 10 and 6 with a throw away final game against the Jets. I'll give you that one. We should have been running the ball in those conditions. Philly did, and they won. But that was only one game. -

If you want to believe that, fine. But what I saw were the Pats and the Ravens happy to walk away with 7 point wins. -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - All Part of the Process

I understand your point, but the Bills weren't blown out by anyone. They were not overmatched by anyone. They can play with any team now. If they get better, which I believe they will, who knows? -
NFC Playoff Games: Seattle at Philly, 4:20 EST

I'm with you. I love the game and enjoy college more than the pros. My late Mom and I used to enjoy our Saturdays watching together. We called overtime "bonus football" and often switched channels to the more competitive games. -

You knew he'd be good in the pros after what he did at Clemson. I wanted the Bills to draft him, but I didn't expect the Bills to draft a QB until they got a legitimate GM. They passed. I'm happy with Tre and Josh. -

Yep. Local Fox affiliate said they fixed this. Obviously not. -

Mine froze twice in that last goal line stretch. Had to switch quickly to the rabbit ears and only the replay of the winning catch. Dang local Fox affiliate. They said they had this fixed earlier in the season. -
We're forgetting that was without JJ Watt for most of the season. In the pregame yesterday, they mentioned that before Watt was injured, he was ranked number one in QB pressures. He made a huge difference in the game. Merciless plays better when Watt is in the game. Our o-line leaked like a sieve in that second half. That's why I couldn't understand why we ran so much empty backfield plays. If there's no threat of a run, that only increases the pressure on Allen. Most of the time, Allen didn't even have a second to get the ball away.
-
I agree that it's hard on fans, because for us all it is is emotion. We can't do anything but watch. Just looking at Josh's face during the presser, leads me to believe they really feel this loss, because they know they just as easily could have won and they were in a position of actually doing something about it. Again, I don't disagree that it is hard on fans though. If they didn't care, they wouldn't be fans.
-
No...I'm not rattled but it sure sounds like you are.
-
You're dismissing their feelings because they're millionaires. You're saying they don't care because they play football for a lot of money. If they didn't, would they be allowed to hurt after this loss?
-
I hear you. I've been rooting for this team for better than 60 years. That's lots of heart break and disappointment. Today was no different. I've gained perspective though. In sports, there's always going to be a winner and a loser when it comes to a championship. This was the first bite of that apple by this particular team. It didn't go down so well. I'm confident though that there will be more. This team wasn't good enough today. They got beat by a team that made more plays, who got beat the year before. This team fought though. They didn't give up and neither should we as their fans.
-
Yes, they're millionaires and I don't begrudge them that, especially since they play a sport that can leave crippled or concussed in a heart beat. And yes, this is how they feed their families. These guys won't just forget this. They'll carry the thought that they should have won the game and they didn't. Yes losing hurts you as a fan. You wouldn't be a real fan if it didn't. But just dismissing your team because you're disappointed...I'm sorry. I just can't get there.
-
Seriously? It's just a game for us fans. For the players, it's their livelihood. It's what they do. And because they didn't make the plays to have a positive outcome, they know they failed and that's not an easy thing to deal with.
-
I'm sure they feel worse than any of us. They know they lost. They were on the field playing hard...not in the stands or in front of TVs playing armchair quarterback.
-
We'll never be even, but this is a nice start.
-
They owe us for the Music City Miracle.
-
So now what team are you rooting for?

This saddens me, Virgil. The Bills loss was maddening and it hurt, but they did not go down quietly. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. -

It would be fitting if the SB is Packers vs KC...just like the first one. -
Loved Belichick being Belichicked!
jkeerie replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's what he Belichick did to the Jets. Guess he thinks he's the only one who can get away with it. -
Brady will not just go away. He's like herpes.
-
They have two good teams...just like the AFC East.
-
This is true. It will be all Patriots all the time. The Bills may have lost, but they didn't go quietly.
