  1. Season is over. Team has learned nothing since getting boat raced in the 20 AFC championship game. Never getting to the peak with Frazier and McDermott.
  2. It really is something how taxpayers front so many costs for the NFL yet get shafted when it comes to watching a game they want to watch. And how the NFL rolls out the figurative red carpet for foreigners who would elsewise probably never spend a dime on anything NFL. That didn't sound good so I'll slightly rephrase. What the NFL puts out for non-US people is excellent and should be the standard for those residing in the US. Instead there's all kinds of hoops people need to jump through just to watch their product if you want to watch your favorite team that happens to be out of market. When I moved to FL 6 years ago I had DirectTV installed for Sunday Ticket. Quickly grew tired of the AT&T version of DirectTV so I cancelled that. I was going to go through the whole VPN signup for the international version of NFL + (whatever they called it at the time). Until I realized my wife works at a college and a student was willing to sign me up for Sunday Ticket Student which was only like $120. There were no other options for me to watch Bills games at 1pm Sunday. A sports bar / Bills backer is not something I want to do as I want to watch the game not BS the entire time.
  3. Doesn't matter. The only 2 players this team cannot afford to lose are Allen and Diggs. So instead of 7 first round picks on the defense we now have 6.
  4. After we went up 14-3 I realized my dog wasn't in uniform so I put his collar on with Bills bandana. Sorry fellas.
  5. I moved to Melbourne, FL (3 hours north of Miami) 6 years ago after living in Buffalo/Roch for 40 years. The weather is an exact inverse here vs Buffalo. Someone said it earlier in the thread and nailed it.....not all hot days are created equal. There are about a half dozen days in the summer or early fall where it's just too darn hot to go out. Same with Buffalo winters where there's a few days where it's just too cold. I've snowblowed the driveway in shorts and a hoodie when it was mid 30's and the sun was out. But mid 30's with snow and wind blowing is a whole different story. The sun is orders of magnitude more intense in Florida. I never wore shades in NY and now I've got about 10 pairs. Some days the humidity is so thick it makes breathing more difficult. I cut the grass after that Bills game and took a break half way through just to sit in the shade a bit. It wasn't the hottest day of the summer but it was close to one of those half dozen miserable days where you get the perfect trifecta of heat, humidity and sun intensity. I could care less that the Bills lost. I mean I always want them to win - especially vs the anti christ - but it's not like I win any prize when the Bills win. When a pro athlete like Diggs needs to double fist IV's so they don't die - that's a problem.
  6. I live 3 hours north of Miami. After the game I went out to cut the grass and yeah it was hot. You definitely get somewhat used to it the longer you live here (6 years for me). Some days though it's just too much to overcome. There are hot days and humid days and days where the sun seems overly intense. Yesterday was all 3 of those things. It's the exact inverse of Buffalo winters. Buffalo winters aren't that bad - they long but not bad. There are about a half dozen days in Buffalo where it's just too damn cold and nasty to go out. Same thing with Florida but with the heat/humidity/sun and yesterday was one of those days. in no way is this an excuse but the NFL really does have to look at these games. These are professional athletes dropping like flies during a game not a slob like me cutting the grass and trimming trees who had to stop and spend some time in the shade. The stadium baking the visitors sideline while the home team enjoys the shade is such an enormous advantage in days like yesterday. I go back and forth on this. In some way I wish the game was stopped and picked up later. kind of like they have "independent" monitors stopping the game when someone looks injured / concussed. I know that's not realistic and could be more harmful to players if you stop for a few hours. A better solution would be if heat / humidity / dew point are at x level then the game is kicked back a few hours. And yes I think the same thing should happen with the cold.
  7. That Pats vs Fins game today was like watching the 6-3 Bills v Browns game of what 15 years ago? Horrendous QB play on both sides. Tua is pure hot trash though. Always has been. He's accurate when his first read is open and only needs to throw the ball 10 yards. Anything other than those circumstances and he still looks completely lost in year 3.
  8. He's not talking about not extending Beane. He was talking about not extending Singletary. FWIW I fully get the angst. The asset allocation to the defense is utterly insane. The offense was deplorable for good stretches of the year last year and only got better when they tasked their $.25B investment with running the ball more. We're weak on the line but many comments say well Kromer will coach them up and turn an average unit into above average. By that line of thinking, we should have had the '85 Bears level of defense for a few years now since McDermott is such a defensive wizard. This team is primed for a huge step backwards this season with the current offensive makeup. Currently we are weak on the OL, RB and slot WR. Unless you are all really getting your hopes up that a Jets castoff will sufficiently replace the one person who constantly made this offense work in Beasley. If it's Hall or more speed in WR or better blocking OL the Bills go with I don't care. But they need to start investing in weapons and protections. Not taking castoffs and hope they work out. They sure aren't doing that with the defense.
  9. Why didn’t we take the wind in 2nd and 4th instead of deferring on coin toss? Is that still an option? I’m in Florida but was reading the BN pre game and saw gusts up to 55 mph. I was surprised when I heard the Bills deferred as I assumed it was gonna be a low scoring game. Possible I heard it wrong on the telecast or the announcers got it wrong. Having the wind in the 4th could’ve been the difference in the game. Presumably Bass makes his kick and we don’t need a TD at the end.
  10. We have the same record at the same point in time as we did last year. Last year our two losses at this point where significantly worse. It’ll be fine. The other team gets paid too. Titans were the better team yesterday. Barely but they were.
  11. The weather isn’t that bad over the summer. Just like Buffalo’s winters aren’t that bad. I live on east coast near Cocoa. Moved here in 2016. They are exact inverses of each other. Florida’s hot humid weather lasts about 5 months. In that time there are about a half dozen days where it’s just too miserable to go out. I laughed at people wearing parkas when the temp barely dipped below 70. But like anything you get used to it and now I really have an internal debate if I want to golf when it’s 65 out.
  12. I now live in central Florida and yes they are everywhere. Darn near every round of golf you will come across one now. My experience so far are they are harmless. You leave them alone and they leave you alone. But they are a wild animal and if they are hungry they ain’t going to the local Publix for groceries. When I see them on the course they are normally just sunbathing with their mouths open. Which apparently isn’t a sign of aggression, it’s just what they do, but you certainly gain an immediate respect for it. ive hunted legally since I’ve been 16 and obviously support the endeavor. It’s impressive he managed to sling a 200 lb animal, over his shoulders and walk it out. I’ve never been a fan of social media for anything and I don’t know why people post things - I also know his fiancé did it and he wasn’t looking for the attention so whatever. anyways right before I moved here in 2016 a family was vacationing on Disney property. Want to say it was at the Swan / Dolphin hotel. The husband and wife were walking along the beach of an inland lake (for some reason they always call a body of water a lake here) with a few young children in tow. They decided to go knee deep in the water when a gator laying in wait ate the 3 year old. So yes they can be dangerous. And as someone else in this thread said you always assume a gator is in the water. if they aren’t hunted and allowed the population to explode because they have few natural predators, they would become a much bigger problem. Google the python issue in the Everglades as proof.
  13. The clip was in the “NFL Crunch Course” VHS tape that was offered to Sports Illustrated subscribers. I watched it religiously as a kid before football games and loved this clip because the Bills sucked at the time and the only reps they had in the film was this and a one liner from Kay Stephenson. You can still find crunch course on YouTube.
  14. Not afraid of Balt. Great, they can run and we are weak against the run. Can they score 30? As that’s what it will take. I bet McDermott learned a lot this week and doesn’t allow field position to be a problem for an entire half. Let Balt run, keep backside and gap integrity and use the sidelines as another defender. Stay disciplined and make the tackles you missed this week. Balt is Miami with a faster QB. Bills by 20 and a relatively stress free game.
