By what standard? The 49ers only won 4 games without Jimmy G.
-
Oh, ok. But it could also mean more targets. Anyway, I think it is pretty ridiculous to compare these guys right now.
-
Is that ... a bad thing?
-
Nope.

Bills win 33 to 16. They iron out the kinks from week one. Another big day from Allen and the running backs have a much better game. Perfect two preseason games before the REAL season starts.

The packers really blew it selecting Love

That's to be determined. I'm not sure how anyone could even have an opinion on him yet. -
MNF After Dark: Titans at Broncos 10:10pm
MJS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't watch much. I saw his first two misses and called them both before he missed them. Gostkowski doesn't have it anymore and I knew anything longer than 40 would likely be a miss from him. He's too dang old. But whatever. I have no interest in either team besides the fact we play them both. -

Dang, I picked the Broncos. They should have had it. -

They'll look like geniuses if he comes in after Rodgers leaves and becomes a really good QB. -

This is a good game to watch since we play both teams later. -
Bills not coming out for National Anthem
MJS replied to DE Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nothing they could possibly do would make everyone happy. Might as well stay inside for it. -
True! But I believe Brees threw a lot more passes in his one incompletion game.

You are talking out of your behind. A big part of the modern NFL game is extending plays and the scramble drill. Aaron Rodgers has made a career out of it. Teams actually practice what to do and what to look for when a play breaks down. Wide receivers are schooled on how to get open and come back for the ball. These things are planned and worked on. There are always things to work on from the previous game. Brady, Manning, Brees, etc. will tell you they always have things to look at and work on after a game. That's a given. Stats are stats. Allen's stats perfectly represent the game he had. No QB is ever 100% completion percentage in a game (Brees got close last year) which means every QB misses throws, or has the passes defended, etc. And every QB throws INT's. So yeah, Allen does have stuff to work on and always will till the day he retires.

Sorry. Had to do it, haha

Some sneaky stars in the Bills win over the Jets

Agreed. He had good coverage all night and made sure tackles. -
Milano & Edmunds Injuries are day-to-day

I guess that means it wasn't a collarbone for Edmunds. That's good news. -
We learned a Screen Game over the offseason
MJS replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My guess would be screens are more difficult to master than other plays. It takes good faking by the offensive line, QB, and receivers/backs. It requires offensive linemen who are agile enough to get out in space and eat up blocks. And it takes a QB who can get the ball to the right spot often under pressure. So maybe we just haven't had all those prices together to have those plays be effective until now. -
He probably WOULD rather be anywhere else, meaning, playing for any other team. He is screwed there.

Bills were the safest pick, I think. I was nervous even about the Houston/Kansas City game because the possibility of Watson heroics in the 2nd half. My second choice was picking the Colts, but I didn't think I could trust Rivers, and luckily I didn't. Pats would have been an ok pick too, but the Dolphins have surprised them in the past.

I've been harping on it all off-season. Hope our offense keeps it up. And that audible by Josh Allen was awesome to see. He is really getting the mental aspects of the game down. -
I don't think the bolded is true. I think it is relevant and important to talk about the negative aspects of each game. The way some people do it, like projecting doom and gloom for future games if xyz doesn't get fixed now, is ridiculous, but talking through the negatives doesn't have to be that way. For instance, it is important to talk about Josh Allen's fumbling issue. But if you are going to talk about his fumbling you should also mention how elite of a runner he is what a great game passing he had yesterday. But yeah, he needs to fix it. He is usually good at adjusting to the most pressing issue of his game, so I expect he will be much more aware in future games.

I am normally pretty hard on Schopp, but I have to give him credit. He was very positive about the Bills on the post game show. He wasn't even calling for Tyler Bass to be replaced. Bulldog was a lot more negative and I think it took him by surprise how positive Schopp was. Now, obviously he pointed out the negatives, which needs to be done.

Pretty much everybody does.
