Antonio Brown Claims He Got CTE From James Harrison
MJS replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall
He has way more problems than that. His number 1 problem is narcissism. Go look at his history. He has issues dating back to high school. Even if he has CTE, his issues began long before that. -

Numerous fans, you say? That's, like... more than a few. -

What do preseason experts and publications have to do with anything? They are just people spit balling and trying to make money with their content. It doesn't actually mean anything. What did all those experts predict for the Seahawks and Giants? What did they predict for the Broncos? -

Actually, that's the threshold for winning games. That's why they say "the first to 30 wins". If you can consistently score close to or over 30 points a game, you are likely going to win most of your games. -

Small sample sizes, for one. During the regular season you play your schedule, which is a mix of bad and good teams. During the playoffs you are only playing good team. But the main issue is small sample size. An average from one or two games is not sufficient to really have meaningful comparison. But I do think those teams are better than the Bills, at least on the AFC side. Who knows on the NFC side? -

Well, part of the problem is those teams are better than ours. The Bills were a superbowl favorite, and THAT was the great mirage. The Bills were overrated. They aren't there yet. We projected a lot of talent that didn't pan out. We thought Davis could be a #2. He couldn't. We thought McKenzie could be a slot. He couldn't. We thought Bates and Brown would progress. Instead, they regressed. Compound that with all the injuries. The Bills were not as good as we thought they were. -

Of the Bills 8 playoff games in the Josh Allen era, the Bills have given up 30 or more points 3 times. 5 times they held the other team under 30. Conversely, the offense has only put up 30 or more points 3 times, and were held to under 30 points 5 times. The offense in the playoffs is a bigger issue than the defense. And the oline is a big reason for that. Yes, we need to evolve on defense, but if we can get the offense humming like we know they can, we'll get to the superbowl. -

Move Bates back to LG where he performs best. Majorly upgrade RG and RT. We should be good to go unless Bates can't get back to form. But if he is the one weak link, that's still a lot better. Dawkins and Morse play a lot better when they have competent guard play. -

Teams allowed 30 or more points 9 times in the playoffs this year. Seems like defenses in general struggle in the postseason. -
I don't mind him. He gets a bit annoying. He isn't biased, though. Especially not against the Bills.

The oline for sure needs major upgrades. That needs to be job #1. Do whatever you have to do. -

I agree. I think it puts McDermott in a tough position, honestly. The defense has great stats but keeps laying eggs in the postseason. Frazier is a respected coach, has the stats and accolades to back him up. He has a proven track record. I think it would be a media storm if he got fired. That doesn't mean you don't make the move, but still, it makes it tough. -
You could make a list based on talent or trajectory, I suppose. Mahomes should be top 5 in that. But top 5 greatest QB's of all time RIGHT NOW? He doesn't have the longevity, the accolades, or the stats to back that up. He'll probably get there, but he isn't there yet.

I agree. The defense needs to evolve. I'm all for bringing in a new coordinator. But it is different, because those offenses before Daboll were horrible in the regular season. It will turn a lot of heads if you fire your defensive coordinator after having the #2 ranked defense, especially given all the injuries and turmoil. If Frazier can't breath new life into the defense next year, and McDermott is still unwilling to make changes, we have a problem. McDermott has shown willingness to progress and evolve in the past, though. Let's hope he can continue to do that. -
Yeah, but it wasn't a stretch of ten bad years for the Saints. Only a few. It's harder to imagine having Allen as our QB and missing the playoffs for a full decade.

No award, but the post I responded to said that Frazier should have been fired a long time ago, and I just pointed out that it is rare to fire a coach with such good regular season results. And I'm one who has been calling to replace Frazier too. But it isn't surprising that he has been retained given the excellent regular season results. -

They have had success in the playoffs too. They've won about half their playoff games. Yes, they need to get over the hump of beating the highest tier teams in the playoffs. That's easier said than done, though. You don't fire your coach because he can't beat a top 3-4 NFL team consistently. -

They beat the Chiefs in the regular season. They have quality performances in the regular season too. Hey, I'm not saying there isn't anything to fix. They need to evolve for sure. I've said I would be happy to move on from Frazier and inject some new life into the defense. Clearly something needs to change to get over the hump in the playoffs. Moving on from McDermott is not the answer. That would be a disaster, in my opinion. -

McDermott took the Bills to the playoffs his first year with a crap team and crap QB. -

That's what everyone said about Andy Reid. -
Yeah, if Mahomes never played again we'd be lamenting what he could have been. Nobody would say he is top 5 all time. Anyone who does is projecting the rest of his career.

Montana is the best ever if Brady didn't come along. He was awesome. Brady solidified it by going to another team and winning a superbowl. He proved he could do it without Belichick, and the Pats have been mediocre since Brady left. (Similarly, I give major points to Manning for doing the same thing). It's splitting hairs, though. Both are all time greats.

The Patriots were a product of Tom Brady... Sorry. I think it is pretty clear he was the best ever. I think he has his warts and the cheating scandals, but there's no denying what a winner he was. And his longevity is insane.
