Forget the MVP award. How about Josh for Walter Payton Man of the Year?
MJS replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know we're supposed to care about this, but I just don't... -
He was always raw as a prospect and never got proper coaching on fundamentals till the pros. It took him a bit to catch up.

Bills, Minny and Eagles all on bye, NFL lookin lame this week
MJS replied to Da webster guy's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's a perfect weekend to take a break from football. Although, I probably won't be able to help myself completely... -
Joe is just a sports journalist who isn't really qualified to give out grades. Everything he says should be taken with a big grain of salt. He seems to have his biases as well. It's interesting stuff for sure, but nobody should be taking this very seriously. It's just his guesses. It's especially hard to grade oline and dline because you don't know what their blocking assignments are. Even a WR who runs a wrong route and happens to get open. How would you know? You probably get a good grade for that even though you deserve an F for running the wrong route.

Bye Week Dreaming - Who would you want to face in the Super Bowl?
MJS replied to Doc Brown's topic in The Stadium Wall
Vikings. They lost 4 superbowls too. -
OK, so there shouldn't actually be a holdup, right?
-
Do they actually have to listen to this coalition?
-
Hey, he has already sat two 4th quarters and is still on that pace.
-
No, he will be a head coach after next season. Book it.

Trade Deadline (Nov 1) Bills Rumors / Speculation
MJS replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have no desire to bring in an underperforming receiver who seems to make the least of his targets instead of the most. I don't care how talented he is. -
In the NFL, the closer to the field you are, the more money you make. Superstar players make way more than coaches. Coaches make more than GM's. It's because they have a more direct impact on wins and losses on a week to week basis, the jobs are more prestigious, and they are more in the public eye.

Beane isn't McDermott's supervisor, for one. They both report directly to the owners.

I'd even say that Elam has struggled at times. He is a young player and has tons of potential, so I'm not worried even slightly.

Tipped Balls are becoming an issue-thoughts as to why??
MJS replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
This, plus Allen is taking short passes and check downs more often this year, which requires the ball to be released on a lower trajectory. -
Allen back to back offensive player of the week
MJS replied to loyal2dagame's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, it's because Allen did it against an elite team. Nobody cares if you beat the Jags. -
Coaches make more.

They save Fridays for high school football.
-
Hey, I'm all for that. That day is kind of boring because I don't do black Friday shopping. I always have it off for work. Wouldn't mind watching a Bills game.

It's 100% on McKenzie. The pitch is obviously one of the options on that play, which means McKenzie needs to be ready for it. He purposely stays behind Allen so it would be a backwards pitch instead of a forward pass. So, he was in the correct position, just wasn't looking for the ball. Really strange, honesty. Could be they ran it a bunch in practice and Allen never pitched it, but that's no excuse. If a pitch is one of the options, he needs to be ready.

I don't think it is because they think they are too good. These turnovers seem to always come in the beginning of the games. The team seems to take a bit to get used to the physicality and game plan of the opposing defense. They are the team to beat, so they are getting the absolute best effort from every team, every week. The more and more they play, the more they will get used to being the team everyone wants to beat. Also, it could just be we have players who are a little turnover prone. Bill Belichick always prioritized smart system players who took care of the football and played fundamentally sound, even if that meant sacrificing some athleticism and upside. I think Beane has prioritized upside, but we have some players who lack some consistency and fundamentals. So, one one hand, mistakes are going to be made, but on the other, they have explosive players who can score at any time. With the current cast of characters I think we will always experience a little volatility in the ebbs and flows of a game and week to week. That's just who they are. I'm fine with that, because the upside is so high.

The Bills would slaughter them.

Yeah, too cold for all the people coming to your city, not for the game itself. Nobody wants to celebrate to frigid Buffalo in the winter. And no. Hotels would not be falling o er themselves to build because of a few more events a year.
-
The superbowl is not just about the game. It is about hosting a ton of people in your city.
-
That would never happen anyway. Too cold, too much snow, not enough hotel space, too small an airport, etc. A domed stadium wouldn't get Buffalo close to consideration for a Super Bowl.
