  1. I can agree with some of that and definitely on Biden's uselessness...but are you also willing to admit that the same NRA that "calls for the federal government to tackle the issue of mental illness" has also poured in tens of millions of dollars in donations to the Republican party that is very largely against universal healthcare, or even more isolated universal programs that would give access to mental healthcare that the populations that overwhelmingly commit these crimes have trouble getting? Lets acknowledge the major hypocrisies on both sides here. Neither Biden or the NRA actually care about the issues at hand. It's all face-saving.
  2. Not surprising that this is what this thread turned into. I try to only come on this part of the site like once a week because it's so toxic. None of this is black and white. There is no one solution. There's complexities to every aspect of it. There needs to be multiple "solutions" to even somewhat alleviate the issue, let alone "fix it". Red flag laws can make it harder for people like this to get guns, but not even close to impossible. The Left puts too much stock into this. The Right screams mental health, which I agree is a major part of the issue...however they are largely against funding universal programs that would actually help these populations who have the most to do with these atrocities gain access to mental healthcare which is very expensive. Also it's very hard, and especially would be today, to keep someone in an institution against their will. Especially if they haven't outwardly done anything yet. Most mental health issues are not something that comes up in a physical brain scan. Diagnosis many times comes from psychiatric or psychological evaluations based on mental health tests that are absolutely fallible to no fault of anyone because there is no 100% way to test this...and also literally from just what the patient is telling the physician. You could say you are hearing voices to go on a shooting rampage but what if in a couple of months after you're on some meds you say those voices are gone even if they aren't? Or maybe they are and then resurface later? How long should you be institutionalized against your will once that happens? I mentioned in another post when we were talking about welfare/mental health disability where people were knocking physicians for giving so many people mental health disorder diagnoses...but when so much of it comes from what the patient is telling them, they don't really have a choice. It can be faked, many times relatively easily. Just like it can be faked that you're "OK" again. I'll throw out a pretentious sounding word here, but it's going to take a holistic approach - more accessible mental healthcare, redflag laws, prison reformation to make time incarcerated more productive with education with pipelining with trade schools, companies, etc, big pharma regulations, and probably other things I haven't even though of right now. And again that's just to alleviate the issue. People get really blame-thirsty when these things happen and forget how complex all of this is and that it's going to take solutions to a combination of everyone's concerns on all sides. It's always just a fight on who is wrong and who is right that nothing at all gets done. And that's been going on for decades now - this thread is a microcosm of that.
  3. Without a championship, which will always be the case with McD here.
  4. Bucs 24 Bills 20 The wheels are already off, now the wagon flips over
  5. Is this part of a 3 way deal to get Ertz? Thinking about starting a thread about that.
  6. Yup…it’s almost as if all of this stuff is just about money and not actually about making some kind of political or cultural statement. Buddy I’ll take that over just constantly regurgitating whatever Fox News tells you to think. Oh we’re in lockstep about this. I totally agree that this whole thing was never about values or principles.
  7. https://www.espn.com/mma/story/_/id/38734796/sources-bud-light-rejoins-ufc-record-sponsorship-deal OMG I can’t believe UFC wants children to get trans surgeries!!! And Dana White, major conservative, says their core values align! Have we decided if any fighter who agrees to fight in the Octagon with the Bud Light logo on it should be considered pro-trans? I can’t believe they did this after all the activism against…something!
  8. It's insane that some of you guys keep bringing up Andy Reid. In his first 6 seasons he went to 4 NFC Championships and a Superbowl, with a lesser talented QB. How does McD even come close to comparing to that? We're in decline without having ever even reached anything that resembles that kind of successful apex.
  9. I disagree that he's a very smart guy in relation to good coaches in the NFL. We have an incredibly predictable team. He's been given incredible resources to pour into "his side" of the team, the defense, and that unit gives it up in the biggest moments every time. Literally every single time. Look at the biggest games we've had in McD's tenure here, we almost never get that big stop in a big game when we really need it. The guy is a choker and a deer in headlights when the lights are brightest. I actually think he gets off easy on 13 seconds...he made big mistakes before that even happened. Look at how conservative we were in the first half of that game after he went conservative in the AFC championship game the year before and admitted that it was a mistake...only to do the same thing all over again and this time while Josh was in an all-time zone. He's just not made for this and hasn't done anything to propel himself to remake himself to be built for it. He's a good coach for a team looking to re-build...not the one who is in position to get over the hump and win it against the big boys.
  10. This is the dumbest take. People poke fun at it but that's not the reason they dislike him. Look at Josh, he's a faith guy and he's beloved even when he struggles. There's a ton of players and coaches that have their beliefs and nobody cares. I would hope that's not happening the other way around either where people are just defending him because they're Christians too instead of looking at him for what he is - a Mid coach that's in over his head.
  11. He’s really bad off the podium too unfortunately
  12. The fact that he doesn’t know what the problem is speaks volumes
  13. And they all laughed at us too. I'm not sure how people are so overly confident about this team.
  14. I think to me that's one of the biggest glaring aspects about this team that is so visibly obvious. I know people have even mentioned her that their wives who don't really even pay much attention have noticed and remark about this - they don't look like they're having fun anymore. This is where I think things are different than 2 years ago when we fell to 7-6...the team still seemed very close-knit and it still felt like we could go on a run. Things have changed. This team plays much more tight, much more afraid to fail. It's just not really fun anymore. Maybe it's that the honeymoon is over and now they're facing real pressure and the stuff about the window is factoring in and they feel like they're up against it. McD has just lost every facet of this team whether it's on the field or intangibly. We need a new voice, maybe just someone competent who isn't a part of all the chokejobs and can bring a fresher and more confident feeling. I've wanted him gone since 13 seconds but this is the first time I've felt he absolutely HAS to go.
  15. The apologist standard is a good coach just needs to be better than Jauron or Mularkey, as if those are the only other options for us if we rightfully can McD.
  16. So in your eyes coaches just can't be judged at all because it's the right call if it works and the wrong call if it doesn't? This. The blind apologists are finally starting to relent a little bit.
  17. It was all Frazier’s fault, didn’t you know that? McD is just a completely innocent bystander for both sides of the ball.
  18. It’s so much more than that. We have bigtime coaching issues on top of that. This team and organization is declining under McD, I’m not sure how anyone can deny that.
  19. We need to pick up the pace. You’d think we were up with this tempo.
  20. Hahaha! It would be funnier if it wasn’t actually a possibility.
  21. We have to get back to where our offense makes any defensive possession feel like a win if we hold them to 3.
