Bills Related Draft News & Discussion
BuffaloBillyG replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
CB in the first is my bet. One thing I've noticed about Beane is if a draft is deep at a position, he's more likely to wait until later (3rd, 4th) to pull the trigger on that position. Probably the thought is take from the thinner position groups while they are still available and hope you can grab a 2nd round talent in round 4. I get it in philosophy, but hate the passive attitude. I'm hopeful that this is the year they identify a player and then go get him. A guy like Grant. My biggest fear is we see Beane trade back and out of round 1 altogether this year. -
Has Cook talked himself OFF the Bills for 2025
BuffaloBillyG replied to DeepPass's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just in the past few seasons they had Von Miller suspended for DV and then signed not one but TWO DL about to be popped for PED suspension with knowledge of each before the ink was dry. Can we let the "not a 'process' guy" nonsense die already? Its about the most overused nonsense line used. -
I'll give you that he's probably lost a step or two as time marches on. We all have haven't we? A "fan" is a stretch. What I am a fan of is keeping the line of fact vs opinion separate. You stated REPEATEDLY your opinion was a fact without providing any context or back up. Because you can't without applying more of your OPINION. And opinions are great. It's good to have different opinions. Provides room for conversation. But unchecked opinions passed as factual lead to issues down the road No one said he's shopping himself to surgeons. Literally no one.
-
"Truth" in this case is just your opinion. And a rather asinine one at that in my opinion. "He had the second half of the season to heal up". He had the chance to have surgery and heal up NOT risking having to get back on the field and making it worse....but passed to keep playing. Oh right, you said Beane just backed him up on whatever he said for...um...reasons. But hey, I suppose you know best. After all, since you KNOW this as a fact, I'm sure you saw Cooper's medical records and properly diagnosed that he didn't need surgery and that Cooper and Beane conspired to mislead everyone for chuckles. I'm willing to bet if I dig through the "Bills trade for Cooper" thread you were not in favor of it from the get go.

So he's what, 3 days away from a PED suspension?

Truth based of what exactly? You have some kind of inside knowledge? I mean he literally said the opposite. Many times. Unprovoked. If you're going to throw it out there as it's a fact, back up the claim.

I didn't see how many sacks he needs or what the playtime % is, but missing 6 games and playing in the rotation will likely keep him from hitting those. At $4.1M it's not a bad deal even with missing the first 6 games IMO.

Free Agent Lull.... are we done minus bit players or more to come?
BuffaloBillyG replied to JP51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Usually in the week leading up to the draft Beane signs a few guys to shore up rooms that need it for the draft so they aren't hard pressed heading in. I expect the week or two before the draft we see an aging vet or two signed at CB (may be where we see White or Douglas signed), maybe a cheap DL or two for the rotation (Jefferson or Phillips type). Other than that I believe the focus is on the draft now and some potential UDFA types they can bring in to fill out the roster for TC/rookie camps. -
Former Bill, Marcellus Wiley accused of rape
BuffaloBillyG replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's a no win situation. Unless there is video or some kind of overwhelming witness testimony not only is it hard to prove something like this 30 years later it's just as hard to DISPROVE it as well. Let me be clear. If he did it I hope he's found guilty and held accountable. There is no room for behavior like this in society. Not today, not tomorrow, not 30 years ago. But, waiting 30 years means anything that could be used to clear his name if he's not guilty is washed away as well. It doesn't matter if he did it or not ..his obituary is written. He will always be "accused rapist" Wiley. If he's innocent it removes his ability to present his best possible defense to clear his name. -
Rodgers givin’ the boot from the Jets
BuffaloBillyG replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Somehow, I don't think finding a place in Pittsburgh would be too difficult. He's got a few bucks saved Im sure. The real issue with the Giants is that one as you mentioned, the Giants are the fourth best team in the division and him playing there doesn't improve that. They have 1 really good weapon for him to throw to in Nabors and a RB that showed some flash in Tracey. They have a coach and GM that are likely on borrowed time and an owner just as clueless and intrusive as the Jets. At least with Pittsburgh, they are in the hunt every year at a minimum. They brought in Metcalf. They have a solid defense to back them up. His chances at the playoffs are far and away better in Pittsburgh. The division may flow through Baltimore, but they weren't far and away winners of it last year even with Jackson playing amazing and Henry running wild. -
Is Josh Allen an Actual Tank?
BuffaloBillyG replied to Chief Loves Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's also a real live buffalo. A freak from Firebaugh. He a limousine riding, jet flying, MVPing, kiss-stealing, wheelin' n' dealin' golf ball hitting, Hollywood starlet marrying son of a gun! (WOOOOO) -
Rodgers givin’ the boot from the Jets
BuffaloBillyG replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think he would already be a Steeler if they gave in to his demands and signed his buddies. But unlike the Jets, the Steelers are by and large a well run organization and they aren't going to let Aaron run the team. If he signs there he's just a player on the roster. He won't be afforded the same level of say so the Jets gave him. I think he's using the Giants as leverage and has no real interest in joining that tire fire. -
It’s time for a generational talent, blue chipper
BuffaloBillyG replied to Vickveto's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just personal opinion. Skill wise I think he will do ok. I see him being a victim of lack of maturity, overhyped expectations, and not handling any set back well. Listening to him he feels he already made it. Which financially with his NIL money he has. I think he's the type to care more about Travis Hunter the brand than the team he plays for. I also think he's going to press to play on offense and defense and cause issues. Again, just my personal impressions based off what I have seen for 2 years. I could be way off -

BuffaloBillyG replied to Vickveto's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is an excellent question. Maybe even be a good thread on its own. If it were my choice I take Abdul Carter. Fits a need and I think he will have a much better career than Travis Hunter. I question Hunters maturity and think he will fall off a bit at the NFL level. Flat out, I don't trust anyone from Colorado. -

Interesting note. Not counting Josh Allen who is probably headed there.. The Buffalo Bills haven't drafted a player that made the Hall of Fame since Thurman Thomas in 1988. I'd say we are overdue. -
They needed a #1 WR desperately and if he's the best they come up with at his age and coming off the injury... great. His attitude mixed with Vrabel will be sure to cause some dysfunction.

Joey Bosa signs with Buffalo. 1 year, $12.6 million
BuffaloBillyG replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not only that, but Beane can just do the same with FA signings he does deals with next year and bake the "dead cap" into those deals by offsetting it with future contracts he does. -

Bosa at that cap hit is a steal even if he misses a few games. -
See this is what people don't see when the whole "we could of had Jefferson" crowd pops up. Allen needed that vet trusted WR that could help him grow. Teach him little things about the game. And he got that from the experienced Diggs. A WR to help guide him. He wouldn't have got that from Jefferson. Jefferson is the WR that as a vet Allen needs now. A young WR with elite skills that will fall in line under the QB that is the unquestioned leader. Now where they find that type of player this year in the draft...I don't know.
-
While that may be true ..he shouldn't be starting lol

We will draft a CB day 1 or 2. But Ingram will be the starter after a camp battle and the board will lose its mind

Matt Milano agrees to pay cut, 2025 becomes final year of his deal
BuffaloBillyG replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Have to remember something about Milano. It's well documented in the past that he is by and large a minimalist. Guy reportedly didn't even have a TV until a couple years back. For a guy like Milano being someplace he's comfortable, has friends and familiarity, knows he's going to be used in the right ways and will see meaningful reps on the field are worth more than money. Rare breed of not only player, but human being. But they do exist. -
And the issue with those types is you are going to be paying for their name and past performance instead of paying for the player you are likely going to get. Superstar rate at JAG results. Which results in releasing the guy a year or two into a "4 year $60M" dollar deal and earns you a heap of dead cap.
-
The issue I have is that very rarely are superstar players close to their prime ever in FA. Yes occasionally a Barkley will hit the market. Teams tend to re-sign those guys. Or slap the tag on them. Look at the FA list for the 2026 off season now. And over the next year one by one the top names at each position will be re-signed. That leaves trying to soft through the rest and find guys that may fit a role on your team. A piece to the puzzle so to speak. Guy like Mack Hollins for us last year is a great example. Not flashy, but did what we needed him to do in a role left behind by Gabe. Good fit Unfortunately, teams are also flush with cash at that point in the season and overpaying these players has become the norm. So when their 1 or 2 year FA deal is up and they want a raise, it's harder to justify as they were likely overpaid to start with. Leaves looking back to FA for a replacement and the cycle continues.
