12/29/24 GAMEDAY Week 17 Bills vs Jets Game day Thread
BuffaloBillyG replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I want a win, no new injuries and to watch Aaron Rodgers pick himself up off the turf a lot today. In addition to possibly throwing his 500th TD pass, he's being sacked twice more away from the record of most sacks taken by a QB all time. I say we help him set that record -
This is the kind of poster that would create a thread right after winning the Super Bowl saying "YEAH BUT WE ONLY WON BY 4. MCDERMOTT MUST GO"

Take care of business. Secure the 2 sees. Rest everyone we can next week. Pats beat us next week and it hurts their draft position and almost guarantees Mayo is back as their coach. Win/win even in a loss there. Let Mitch have game 17. Showcase him. Who knows, maybe he lights it up and some team desperate for a vet QB to compete next year like the Browns offer up a nice draft pick for him. The Rob Johnson Effect.

It's not that easy. Players aren't just plug and play If Schwartz came back, it would mean a complete gut of the defense and bringing in players that fit his Wide 9 scheme. That could take a couple of seasons. And that's even if McDermott allowed him to run it over the defense we currently run. Just having Jim on the sidelines isn't a fix all

And how did that work out for him? 2 seasons with a 10-22 record and hasn't sniffed a HC job since. I agree with what you say for guys like Mike or Dave Culley or when Lovie Smith replaced Culley following his stint with the Texans. Lower level HC hopefull like them will ***** any job that offers them one. It really may be their only shot But higher level HC prospects like Ben Johnson, Dan Quinn ect in the last few years have routinely pulled their name out of the bad jobs. A smart coach will wait for a more stable opportunity because if it goes bad they may never see a HC job again.

I agree with the drive on some. There will also be the guys that skip from team to team and miss out on being in the same system with the same coaches teaching them. A lot of guys will be coming in without basic fundamentals in systems and be less pro ready then ever IMO.

Seahawks-Bears anyone? (Live Game Thread)

He's basically the New Years Baby -
Yeah, Sanders has bust written all over him. Couldn't imagine him going to Las Vegas like it's reported he wants. Hoping the Jets take a big swing on him.
-
He's sitting at 499 career TD passes. He's playing and trying to hit 500.

Week 17, NJ Jest v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
BuffaloBillyG replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills 26 Jets 16 -
We crushed them here last season. That was a week 8 or 9 game. Last time they were here in December was 2022 and that game was 20-12. One score. Those were also 2 other Jets teams and two other Bills teams. That has little to do with 2024 IMO

Yada yada yada. All games have a different reason why. Pointing to point totals against is meaningless. Once the ball is kicked off ..that's what matters. An early big play by the Jets, a big turnover and giving them momentum. This could prove deadly as well. We squeaked by a very bad divisional opponent last week and it could easily be the same story this week. Or we could win by 20. Or lose by 10. Football is just crazy like that lol
-
And they gave up 19 points to a team we gave up 44 to. Good thing football isn't linear.
-
His name is McDermott. No reason to be disrespectful. And yes, the likelihood that this team and culture wouldn't be as good without him is MUCH more likely than a group of people on these boards will ever care to admit.
-
Sounds strangely like the song we sung about the Pats OL last week this time.
-
I don't. I expect a slug fest. Rodgers has looked a lot better for 3 weeks. He and Adams have been playing pitch and catching at will. These are still professional athletes the want to win. And if they aren't winning they need to put good stuff on field for the next staff or teams around the league for next year. Then add in the teams just do not like each other. This one isn't going to be a pushover.

My take: If KC beats Pittsburgh on Wednesday…
BuffaloBillyG replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree we need Hyde to get some in game reps to tune up for the post season if needed. But managing his reps is going to be tricky. How many snaps does he have before getting another neck stinger and being out? -
It's going to be interesting to see next week. By the time Buffalo takes the field again, the #1 sees may be out of reach. But they will already know that being that all of the Chiefs, Steelers and Ravens play on Christmas day. So, should KC and Houston win on Christmas, we would lock the #2 seed up. I could easily see a preseason type scenario next week where starters play a quarter or so and then it's backups.

The Bills last 2 offensive Coordinators Brian Daboll and Ken Dorsey have helped lead their teams to a COMBINED 5 wins and 460 points this season. Meanwhile Buffalo has 12 wins and 469 points.

Agree. That pass he completed on Dorian Williams first flash rush in his face reminded me of the kind of flash that Rookie Josh Allen would have. I'm not saying he's Allen 2.0 by any means. But the kid has that "it" that can't be coached. Get him a competent OC a line and some weapons and he's going to be an issue.

Bears fans still don't hate Edmunds as much as Dolphin fans hate Poyer. They have been trying to drive him outta town since like week 4 he's been so bad 😂😂
