Super Bowl LVI: Bengals at Rams
BuffaloBillyG replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Anyone else already over the Burrow hype fest? -
For those that are just responding to the thread title...this still isn't even a confirmation. It's an ex player talking about a name. If you listen (and I know 99% of you didn't) a case could be made that it's his speculation and why he likes it.

This thread is going about as expected.

Are you excited about the Superbowl matchup ?

Eli Apple is pretty excited. -
Don't be surprised if Josh Allen has a bumpy 2022
BuffaloBillyG replied to beebe's topic in The Stadium Wall
After the way this year ended...Josh Allen is going scortched Earth. 5500 yards passing. 850 yards rushing. 65 total TDs. They may even just rename the Super Bowl to "The 1st annual Josh Allen Just Kicked Your Ass" Bowl. Sponsored by Chik-Fil-A He's on Madden mode next season. -
OL coach Bobby Johnson headed to NY, has signed contract
BuffaloBillyG replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean, Marrone fired Hackett in Jax after Nate got him hired. Not sure they are on good terms. And we know the Giants aren't hiring him now...😂😂😂 I believe I'll opt out of him coming here though. -

Players are next. Davis Webb, Eli Ankou, they alread got the RB Williams. I would imaging a few more we don't resign are headed that way. Maybe we can send em Haack. -

It's yet another case of why you can't take people named "Thad" seriously. -

Agree, however you would think he would have input as well. How much we wouldn't know. Culture to a point I can agree with. As well as being versatile. Depth...eh. He's a declining player that was at best an upper tier JAG 2 years ago. Can find players of his skill level without much difficulties. Add in his price tag and the juice isn't worth the squeeze IMO. -

It's a thought, however if he was one staff last year not sure how well it helped. -

I'd send them Feliciano for a street vendor hot dog and free medium Pepsi. -
Joe Burrow: 'Bengals beat second-best team in the AFC, twice'
BuffaloBillyG replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like watching Burrow throw to Chase. However I think with a bit of time Burrow is going to have that "Brady Smug" demeanor that a lot of people will hate. -

We would have to draft a waterbug....

One of my biggest worries of this offseason is that the line did "just enough" to convince Beane that we should run it back with that line and continuity will really help next year. -

Well, with the way Johnson has coached the Bills line....they sometimes have issues blocking anything. Also leads me to believe if we cut Feliciano he would end up with the Giants as he's one of Bobby Johnson's pet players. -
Again...looking for external names. Dorsey is the obvious choice amoung Bills fans. Always because of "consistancy"....but no one really can explain what Dorsey knows, thinks or how he's the best person for the job. What HE brings other than he's already here.

It's odd that from the part you quoted you assumed it was a race thing. It wasn't. Had a lot more to do with those yelling "Rooney Rule" not really being educated or choosing to take the TIME to learn about a candidate before automatically chalking it up to race. However, mostly the uneducated will water things down to the simplest rational that they are comfortable with.

I agree. Just like there's no guarentee that a position coach from within will step into a new position with Morse responsibility and do well. It's a 100% crapshoot either way. Issue is that so many here are 100% closed off to an external hire that if it's not Dorsey (or Hall) named people will freak out. I think looking outside and comparing what you already have on staff is the most effective way to make surs the guys you name is the right guy...not just the hot name of the one you already knew.
-
True. But most here assert that idea only exists with external hires.
-
Way too many people in this thread that are way too comfortable exposing who they are.
-
Curious. Did the Bengals donit that way too? Because they are paying in the same Super Bowl.
-
Again, aa said in OP...looking for external names mainly. However let me say this...ever see Matt Barkley on the sideline? Team loved having him. However there was a better external choice out there potentially so the Bills took it. Same could happen with OC.
-
I actually did not see a thread on external hire choices. I saw 2 threads about people saying the 2 guys announced so far are wrong...so I was curious who everyone thought was right. If it's something to be merged with one of them, I'm certain the mods will so their duty. They are pretty good at that sorta thing!

Being there doesn't mean they can do the job well. Which is why I asked this post focus more on externals than Dorsey and Hall. Because everyone's biggest fear is change...even if it has the possibility of being a better situation in the long run.
