  1. Our cat will kill them but won't touch them to eat them. Our puppy ate the one he caught and had no apparent ill effects. I'd always heard that moles taste terrible to animals but I guess Toby hasn't read the literature.
  2. Speed is a great thing to have when you break past that first wave of would be tacklers, but I suspect that the best thing to have is an ability to make the first couple guys miss.
  3. I have heard that the "get rid of the grubs" approach is the most effective. Some day I may try that on the moles in our yard. Believe me, theesir, it's not just a he or an it. It's "them" and a cat probably won't work. We have a cat, and while she kills several every year, she has not eliminated them. I've also killed a few with a shovel. I've used a castor oil recipe without much success. I know in addition to the other possible solutions there are supposed to be electrical devices that are supposed to drive them out. If we owned our property, I might get more serious about attacking them, but since it's not, we have a peaceful coexistence beyond them, other than killing the ones that are dumb enough to come out when I can see them. BTW our puppy also killed one at six months old. He's a miniature poodle, chihuahua, miniature dachshund mix and has both the mole and a rabbit on his scorecard, and he caught them while on his chain.
  4. How about checking the yellow pages for "sports bars" and then doing a phone survey? I just used the MSN yellow page feature and looked up "sports bars." Here's the list I found: All Star Hawaii 2080 Kalakaua Avenue, Hon, HI 96815 (808) 955-8326 (808) 946-0870 (fax) Email: dmurphy@allstarhawaii.com business profile | phonephone | emailemail | map -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Big D'S Cafeteria & Sports Bar 3250 Ualena Street, Honolulu, HI 96819 (808) 836-7668 phonephone | map -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cafe Anasia 2227 South Beretania Street, Honolulu, HI 96826 (808) 951-9295 business profile | phonephone | map -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Charley's Bar And Grill 16-586 Old Volcano Rd Suite 106, Honolulu, HI 96849 (808) 966-7589 (808) 966-7237 (fax) Email: charley@charleysbar.com business profile | phonephone | emailemail | map http://www.charleysbar.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cheerleaders Sports Bar & Grill Moanalua Shopping Cn, Honolulu, HI 96813 (808) 422-2242 phonephone | map -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Detox Sports & Entertainment Club 1192 Alakea St, Honolulu, HI 96813 (808) 526-0200 phonephone | map -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Laimu Grill & Bar 1020 Keeaumoku Street Suite 101, Honolulu, HI 96814 (808) 596-8001 phonephone | map -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Stage Drinks & Grinds LLC 802 Kapahulu Ave, Honolulu, HI 96816 (808) 738-0004 phonephone | map -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pigskin Sports Bar & Grinds 1661 Kapiolani Boulevard Suite 4, Honolulu, HI 96814 (808) 946-6465 phonephone | map -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pipeline Cafe & Sports Bar 805 Pohukaina St, Honolulu, HI 96813 (808) 589-1999 (808) 589-1956 (fax) Email: gceroderson@yahoo.com business profile | phonephone | emailemail | map http://www.pipelinecafe.net -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rose's Sports Bar 802 Kapahulu Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96816 (808) 737-7880 phonephone | map -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Round Table Pizza 150 Kaiulani Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96815 (808) 944-1199 business profile | phonephone | map -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Round Table Pizza Ohana East, Honolulu, HI 96813 (808) 944-1199 business profile | phonephone | map -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shack Mililani 95-221 Kipapa Drive, Honolulu, HI 96813 (808) 627-1561 phonephone | map I checked the two websites listed. It seems Charlie's Bar is now on the Big Island. The Pipeline didn't tell what they had in the was of TV. It seemed to focus more on entertainment than on sports.
  5. A few days it looked like it might miss southern Florida and head into the Gulf of Mexico, maybe making landfall somwhere from the panhandle to New Orleans. Now it's looking more like it could follow the path of Charlie. This thing means business. It's a category 5. If it were in the western Pacific it would be called a super typhoon. The Atlantic almost never gets storms this strong. BTW, that measurement of 200+ mph was not made at ground level. Wind speeds are always slower at ground level because of friction with the surface of the earth. Still 160 mph winds makes this a killer storm. If it heads your way, get out, don't try to ride it out unless you live in a cave.
  6. I think Evans is going to get playing time in 3 WR sets. Reed will move to the slot and Evans will pairoutside with Moulds. He'll get his chance to start, probably later in the season.
  7. It's people like that who cast doubt on the notion that humans are the superior species on this planet.
  8. From NFL.com Mike Rucker - starting RDE 6'5" 275 Julius Peppers starting LDE 6'6" 283 Rucker is decent sized. Peppers is pretty big for a DE. Dwight Freeney is pretty small if you're looking for small DEs. Jason Taylor of Miami is tall but he's pretty light for a DE. His partnre at LDE is also pretty small, David Bowens 6'3" 260. On the other end of the spectrum Houston with a 3-4 defence literally lines up three DTs together. Their ends weigh 320+.
  9. I would think New Orleans is the worst place in the country to be in a bad hurricane. Let's see, 20 foot storm surge, 15 inches of rain and New Orleans 5 feet below sea level. The dome might protect those inside. The problem could be getting to it, not only fans, but the teams too.
  10. Haggan may never see the field except on special teams. He is third on the depth chart at MLB. I have a feelilng the bridges between Travis Brown and the Bills may have been burned, first with Brown accusing TD of being disingenuous, and then TD responding by saying he never promised anything to Brown, in effect calling him a liar. It would take a lot for two people who have called each other liars to kiss and make up. Since the Bills like the play of Matthews, and are holding a roster spot for Losman, I don't see TD has having much reason to let Travis back in the door. Beyond that, I don't think Morrison said anything that hasn't been said multiple times on theis and every other Bills fan forum.
  11. I think he blew out a knee. He was a safety, wasn't he?
  12. I think there are fans from every team who will troll on the boards of other teams, if they have boards, FM. The only think that I would comment on to a Jags fan, or the fans of any other team is that there are two personnel changes on the offensive line, and the biggest change of all, we have one of the best offensive line coaches in the game instead of the least experienced for a change. Lawrence Smith is going to be something of an unknown for a while, but the Bills staff has given us a concrete reason why we might expect him to outperform Mike Pukecillo. Smith has a sense of balance. The guy he replaces didn't. Smith and Villarrial should be better than Pucillo and Brown. In addition the most transformed player on the offensive line appears to be Trey Teague who has been better than adequate, maybe even good through the preseason. Much of the Bills problems blocking for the pass came in the middle of the line which collapsed time and time again. If, as appears to be the case, McNally has these guys playing with improved strength and technique, then maybe the offensive line is no longer going to be a weakness.
  13. The latest projected path for hurricane Ivan places Florida at only a slight risk on having Ivan pay a visit, at least South Florida. The mosst likely path at the moment has it squeezing between Cuba and the Yucatan Peninsula into the Gulf of Mexico, where it could threaten anywhere on the Gulf coast from the Florida panhandle to New Orleans. I see New Orleans opens with a home game versus Seattle. It might be that they are the team that should have second thoughs about hosting their opener.
  14. This will give him a year to learn the play book. I wonder if the Bills have a tutor on standby.
  15. Buffalo can only sign St. Pierre away from Pittsburgh if they sign him to the active roster, which won't happen because Matthews would be considered a more reliable second string guy and the Bills are using a roster spot for Losman. After the season if there is a chance to pick up St. Pierre, then I say go for it.
  16. At some point Curtis Martin will become a washed up has been but if you check his personal stats at NFL.com, you'll find it didn't happen in 2003. Unless you have inside info to the contrary, there is no particular reason to think this will be the year, except that he's one year older.
  17. It is not surprising that the Bills filled all eight slots with players cut from their own team, or that they did so quickly. The practice squad is potentially a fluid group. The Bills can cut players at any time from the PS without financial penalty and sign new players. At this point in time the cuts from their own team are the players they know best. Don't be surprised at all if the content of the PS is adjusted some during the season. Don't be surprised of at some point a player or two is signed who had been in training camp with another team.
  18. Good for him. He is a definite and significant downgrade from little Wicky though. The Dolphins are less dangerous for it.

  20. I tend to agree that the hiring of GW was the biggest blunder of TD's tenure.
  21. A little. I admit to not studying O-line play, so I was relying on what others have said.
  22. I think Syracuse is going to regret not dumping Pasqualoni. The team has been heading steadily downhill over the past several years. They'll win their next game at least.
