Again. I'm not saying that was the only issue. When a team isn't playing well, it's not usually one thing. But saying that the opt-outs didn't affect them and that the ONLY issue is not having #12, is just not true. Not having #12 IS definitely part of the problem, but not the only one.

I think two things can be true at once. Cam Newton is certainly a downgrade from Tom Brady, there's no question about it. But the opt-outs have also been a big part of it as well. The Bills were very lucky with only having one starter (Lotulelei) opt out. Patriots had the most (8) players opt out of any team, many of whom were starters. You definitely can't say that that hasn't had an effect. It's not one or the other. Both have had an impact.

Haha, same here! I rode with the Colts most of the year, but they had a bad matchup that week... I forget against who, and the Bills had a favorable matchup, I believe it was before the Niners game. That was a very well-timed pickup - right as the D started to come around.

Is it me or do we get some kind of penalty on almost every punt return? I mean in the grand scheme of things if that’s the biggest thing to worry about, I’ll take it. But dang...

I currently live in Concord, NC, and there are a bunch of Bills fans here. 7-8 different families in my neighborhood alone. But what made me laugh was this. This past weekend, a former neighbor of mine, who recently had moved down to Florida (Bradenton) just a few months ago, stopped by the house when we were out front playing with the kids. He was back in town for something that was scheduled before he made the move to Florida. He saw us out front and just stopped by to chat. He said, "I can't believe how many Bills fans there are down there! Literally the first family we met after we moved in was Bills fans!" It kinda made me chuckle. That for such a "small market" team, wherever you go - he went from Concord, NC, to Bradenton, FL, and there are apparently just as many there as there are here - there are Bills fans everywhere!
