Plane On Fire in Denver, Passengers Standing on Wing
thenorthremembers replied to ExiledInIllinois's topic in Off the Wall
The recent rash of plane issues is only one of the reasons Ill never fly again. -
Good player. Too bad he is 32. Jets ate quite a bit of money to move on from him.
-
I think he outplayed his talent last year. You need those type of guys on your team. He knows the system and will compete with a rookie to start. Dont hate it.
-
A little confused by this one. Thought he was a 3 tech. That would put him at the same position as Oliver and Carter. Seems like a lot of money to be a 3rd defensive tackle.
-
I love Tre but he looked pretty cooked last year. Not sure if he will be better now he is two years off the injury.
-
Its not over yet. Not for nothing no one wins the Super Bowl in March. There is a reason these guys werent resigned by their teams. Free agency is for supplementing your team not building it.
-
Any clue what an Asante Samuel's contract looks like. Missed a lot of time last year, wasnt great when he was in the lineup. 1 year prove it deal for between 7.5-10 million?
-
Man the Jags love overpaying for wideouts.
-
It was too cold in Philadelphia.
-
Going to wait and see on this one. Has decent hands and is still young. Obviously not a signing that is going to blow anyone's socks off but you dont win games in March.

QB Justin Fields to the Jets as per Tom Pelisserro
thenorthremembers replied to RiotAct's topic in The Stadium Wall
He has all the physical tools you could want. Pittsburgh proved you could win with him as long as you could run the ball and play defense. Smart coaching can hide his inability to read a full field. That said, I hate the Jets, -
New year. Same song. Chicken Littles yelling at the sky.

The average low temperature in Seattle is only ten degrees warmer than Buffalo in December. The average low in Denver in December is ten degrees colder than Buffalo. The average low in Denver from January-February is the exact same as Buffalo. The difference between Buffalo and Pittsburgh is not 10 degrees like you say, its 1-2 degrees. For f's sake Cleveland is on the same Lake as Buffalo and they just re-signed one of the best players in the league. Again, I understand we get a lot of snow here but most of these guys are already back to Texas, California, and Florida before 30-50% of that snow hits WNY. And not for nothing, most of these millionaires arent out shoveling their driveways and driving broken down Chrysler minivans through lake effect snow. I am sorry man but just because someone runs into a few NFL players on the golf course and they say its too cold in Buffalo doesnt mean its a realistic reason why top tier free agents wont come to Buffalo. Big contracts and winning makes weather a very small issue. You can buy a lot of coats, hats, and gloves with a few million in the bank.

Huge loss for the Raiders.

70% of the NFL regular season is over by December 1st. This year was a outlier, but in general the average low temperature in Buffalo by that point of the year is barely below freezing. If the Bills are lucky their season goes to January 26th, that's the date of the AFC Championship game. In a year with a long playoff run the Bills would play 8 games between 12/1 and 1/26. 4-5 of those games are usually on the road. If someone wants to blame weather for not coming to Buffalo because they cant deal with 4 cold weather games a year I dont want him on the team. Yes, Buffalo gets the most snow of any NFL city. How many games a year are played with more than an inch of snow on the ground? The Jets, Giants, Patriots, Broncos, Browns, Ravens, Steelers, Bengals, Chiefs, Eagles, Commanders, Packers, Bears, and to a lesser extent the Seahawks all play in comparable cold. If you said players didnt want to come here because of the taxes, yes maybe. But weather doesnt pass the smell test man.
-
13 of the 19 NFL teams play outdoors in cold weather cities. Are you seriously going to tell me everyone of those teams only signs 2nd tier free agents? My lord man 18 of the last 22 Super bowl winners came from cold weather cities.

No such thing as a curse or bad luck. Somebody has to win and somebody has to lose. When the talent level is as close as it is between the Bills and the Chiefs, its usually going to be close. The curse was the 17 years they didnt make the playoffs. This current team is too successful to be called cursed.

The guys handle is slick rick scoops. There is one of these guys every off season. Its entertainment.

Von Released, Frees Up $8.4M Cap Space
thenorthremembers replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
His signing will go down as one of the worst moves in Bills history. I truly believe signing him is part of the reason the Bills couldnt make moves to get over the hump the last few years. -
measles outbreak
thenorthremembers replied to Joe Ferguson forever's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Way to choose 1919. When the life expectancy was 53. When only 1% of households had both indoor plumbing and electricity. Yes, people do die of the measles but choosing the exact year where measles related deaths were at the highest percentage in the last 100 years of American History isn't exactly living in reality. For God's sake, bacteriology and the impact of hand washing was relatively new in 1919. Odd for someone to give another person hell for "anecdotes" while simultaneously being amazingly hyperbolic. -
Bernard signs 4 year, 50 mill extension
thenorthremembers replied to beebe's topic in The Stadium Wall
At this very moment its a moderate overpay. That said, you were able to get your 25 year old starting inside linebacker locked up for 4 years and not have to pay him a top 5 at his position. Forward looking contract and for far less than the Bears paid our former MLB. -
It also speaks to how good he probably was. Your point has you stuck in a vicious circle.

Jags release Christian Kirk, seems like a Billsy move
thenorthremembers replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
They are golf buddies and vacation together. Was very surprised when he wasnt signed here.
