  1. I am not 100% sure I wasn't the "bad crowd" at 24. I wish the guy the best and hope he grows from it.
  2. Very gifted quarterback, and would have been a 3rd-4th round pick had he not had a terrible track record. Loved watching him play in college. The kid gave a great speech at Jim Kelly Camp this year. He talked about this very thing. Working harder than anyone else, and not letting bad habits or bad crowds ruin your opportunities in life. Honestly feel terrible for the kid. Was hoping he could keep his stuff together because he would have been a great role model and story for younger athletes.
  3. Same for me. I expected this season as well but it's a complete waste of time to spend hours watching a team that cant compete in the least. I love the Bills, have for a very long time, but I prefer watching college football at this point. I will probably tune into the first half Monday night but I am not going to bother going into work exhausted for a meaningless game. When Allen returns I may watch more but it's pointless to watch Anderson or Peterman because I dont see a scenario where either is on the team next year.
  4. Fumbles twice in a game, tells media he was disappointed he wasn't allowed to go back into the game and learn from his mistakes. Lucky to have a job. This isn't an apprenticeship its the NFL.
  5. He's on his third team in two years. The best offensive coach in the league did want him you're right, for one year and then let him go on his way. If you want to pay 14 million dollars for 52 catches and 2 touchdowns be my guest. For what its worth, I wasnt only talking about championships. Lest you forget the team everyone here is moaning about every week was in the playoffs last year.
  6. Watkins is on pace for 52 catches, 720 yards and 2 touchdowns for 14 million dollars a year. For the life of me I do not understand the obsession with this guy. Can someone please tell me what we won when these guys were on the team?
  7. Koetter and the GM should both be gone by the end of the year as well. One instance where its glaringly clear that character does matter in the league.
  8. Thank you my friend. My Dad was incredibly passionate about music. I pretty much grew up on weekend road trips to the House of Guitars, and helping him set up equipment early Saturday mornings for his band's shows later that night. Tuesday's Gone is my favorite of those three, but have grown real fond of Ballad of Curtis Lowe over time as well.
  9. My Dad's all time favorite band. Can still remember him listening to the first reunion show with Johnny on vocals. Couldn't afford the pay per view so he just listened while the picture scrambled. I remember him tearing up during Tuesdays Gone, Simple Man and Free Bird. To this day if Tuesdays Gone comes on the radio I feel like the old man is standing right next to me. I know some people see the band as a bit of a stereotype but they mean a lot to my family.
  10. I am going to go out on a limb and say the Bills have never inquired about Dez. Given the manner in which Maclin turned them down last year, I would also be surprised if they inquired about him. The season a third of the way over and neither of them is on a team. If anyone wants to believe they are seeking a superbowl more than a game check right now go ahead and be my guest, but my feeling is neither of these guys have vast options.
  11. He missed close to an entire season of games with injuries. He also missed a game with the Rams with a concussion, so he didnt play the entire season. He was available in less than 80% of the games he played for the Bills. My bigger issue with Sammy is his hype is no where near his production, and he has proved that since he left.
  12. This. Adding to the fact that Benoit asserts Allen has a robust arm on deep passes, when he has yet to complete one. Guess the guy needed to fill his article quota but he isnt exactly coming off as in depth.
  13. Joe Flacco, Alex Smith, Eli Manning, and Ryan Tannehill all were worse than Allen in their first four starts. Russell Wilson and Phillip Rivers both had less passing yards in their first four starts. Jared Goff had a worse completion percentage in his first four starts. Will he ever be good, I have no idea. But to say that after four starts is a bit premature. Aaron Rodgers wasnt even a full time starter until his 4th year in the league. Try to remember this thing isnt a sprint.
  14. Great great post. Life is way too short not to find enjoyment in the little things.
  15. Makes sense. I too am starting my mellow. Love the Bills, enjoy this site, but becoming less emotional about the games with time.
  16. You made sense until you said most scouts had him graded as a 3rd rounder. I wasn't an Allen fan going into the draft but not one of us here has any clue where team scouts had him graded. Oddly enough even the internet and tv "scouts" have changed their mind on where they had him graded depending on the week. Last week he was clearly the most talented qb in the draft. This week he was a raw prospect.
  17. So wait, you dont watch the team's games because of your very active personal life, however you find time to visit a Bills specific message-board to discuss a team you dont watch?
  18. I thought Mahomes was going to be a project coming out of Texas Tech and didnt want the Bills to take him. Thought Watson was the much better quarterback. In saying that, no other quarterback reminded me more of Mahomes in this years class than Allen.
  19. Its just a meaningless metric. A loss is a loss. It counts as one game regardless of the score. And the scores of the Bills games have been lopsided like that because the three quarterbacks McDermott had used have ever been completely negligible like Tyrod or rookie quarterbacks who aren't ready. The Patriots have lost by 20 points or more, my baseline for blowout for your argument 12 times in 17 years and thats with the best quarterback of all time. McDermott is a .500 coach who is likely as good at his job as someone like Marvin Leiws or Doug Marrone. He will be out of a job if Allen ends up a bust, simple as that.
  20. Do you happen to have stats showing the percentage other teams are blown out or perhaps a baseline of what constitutes a blowout? Otherwise this stat means absolutely nothing
  21. And still never won more than 6 games in a season.
  22. Maybe so. However I assume he was raised in the same house as his brother who has no problem understanding how to stay in the NFL.
  23. I agree. Feel like the teams that should be out front on this should be Indy, and Houston. NYJ have the money but realistically dont think they have the team to be one or two players away.
  24. I thought he was being sarcastic regarding all the dumb reasons people didnt want Mayfield in the draft.
  25. The bottom line with Bill and his "genius" is it got results less than 50% of the time until Brady came into the league. One playoff appearance in 6 years without Brady and a .475 win percentage. I imagine he was teaching the right way to shed a block then as well.
