  1. That would take up about 30% of our available cap space. No thanks.
  2. That O-line since the superbowl run has pretty much gotten newton killed on every play. No thanks to any part of that. Especially at the price we'd have to fork out for him.
  3. I'd love to take a good long look at Sherman, but I don't think the bills could fit him under the cap.
  4. Not interested in anybody from the Panther's O-line. They have been TERRIBLE.
  5. One reason that makes all of those reasons pointless. The bills have been the worst passing offense by yards for the past 15 years. In that same stretch, only 3 teams have scored less passing touchdowns then the Bills. Get the QB while you can and THEN worry about filling holes.
  6. I think he's saying that they know more about drafting Thanksgiving Side Dishes then they do about sports.
  7. I honestly don't think the NFL cares when it is obvious that neither the team nor the player are interested in re-signing.
  8. He did play for the most predictable OC in football though.
  9. Honestly I think Sammy is playing this the right way. Not only does he say he'd like to stay with the Rams but he also said he'd be open to coming back to the Bills. The guy wants to get paid, and isn't burning any bridges to do it.
  10. Honestly I'm with you on that, I was just saying that perhaps Beane prefers a more standard prototypical pocket passer this time around. I don't have too much of a problem with Mayfield, especially with guys like Brees and Wilson in the league who are doing well even though they are shorter. The comment on mobile was more towards a Lamar Jackson type guy. Guys like Darnold and Rosen are your more prototypical guys, but I like Rosen better than Darnold beause I think he is more NFL ready, which is why he is my QB prospect of choice.
  11. I agree. Just as much risk of busting (has busted before) and not as much time under team control. IMO Foles was a product of having a great supporting cast this season. That being said I could be wrong about him. I'm just not confident enough to give up what the eagles seem to want for him.
  12. By "Dealing with Newton" I meant tailoring an offence around a mobile guy. By dealing with Taylor I meant dealing with a guy that doesn't have that prototypical NFL size (and also likes to scramble). Both are the types that you need to tailor your offense around their needs. A smaller guy may need to roll out of the pocket or take more snaps out of shotgun. I'm not saying that he can't succeed, I'm just saying that it is a much harder task for a guy of his size.
  13. He may take a guy that can scramble if he needs to, but I think he primarily wants a pocket guy. Wheels are great but only if you know when to use them.
  14. I don't like the fact that they promoted Ed's kid to replace him. Bring some new blood in. The league needs to stop giving jobs based on who you know.
  15. Weren't there rumors that Cousins said that the Vikings were his first choice a while back?
  16. I'd do that, but there is no way in hell the Giants do. If we trade up its going to be our two firsts and likely our first from next year. That being said, I'm willing to pay any price for a shot at an escape from QB purgatory.
  17. I could see them passing on Mayfield because they want a more traditional style quarterback after first dealing with Newton in Carolina then Taylor in Buffalo.
  18. But they ARE the browns and IMO are more likely then not to find a way to screw this up.
  19. I could see the Giants trading back multiple times if this were the case. If there is a team that has an opportunity to re-tool and do it quick, it is the Giants in this draft. They can afford to get a QB that will need to sit a year before starting, and really need a quick influx of inexpensive talent. If they can get 2-3 1sts from buffalo AND whatever they get from the browns to move back to 4 I can't see them saying no. Especially since the Colts are pretty much going to stay where they are, as they won't likely be that high in the draft again assuming Luck comes back from the injury on schedule.
  20. Allen is this year's EJ Manuel. He will be throwing balls into the VIP tent by this summer. I hope it's the Brown's or Jests tents though.
  21. Honestly, Allen gives me EJ flashbacks in a really bad way. Mayfield is a very good prospect, but I think Rosen is the guy that will be the better QB long term. Pocket passers tend to stick around longer in the NFL then the more mobile guys like Mayfield. If I'm choosing between Mayfield, Rosen, and Allen, I take Rosen 100% of the time.
  22. That would be a great fit for both the player and the team. That being said, I'd prefer he signed with NYJ, Denver, or the Browns. For 100% selfish reasons.
