Dolphins moving on from Kenyan Drake
BurpleBull replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Poyer took it way past the whistle? That's aggression to you? I've seen far worse after a whistle. Maybe something was said by Poyer, but I didn't see anything that Poyer did physically to warrant that reaction from Landry. Milano still had a grasp of Landry after Poyer had released him, so why would he shrug Milano off and attack Poyer instead of Milano if the issue was a Bills' player taking it way past the whistle? If Drake was responding to four Bills' players who "surrounded" Landry with the intent to intimidate him (versus to keep things from escalating), then shouldn't Drake have thrown his weight around at one of the four as to show loyalty, courage, and to even things out? He attacked Poyer almost as soon as he saw Landry go at him, he never saw the four Bills players you imagine surrounded Landry; Drake wasn't defending Landry from Bills' players who were trying to bully him, he was inspired by Landry's overreaction and simply wanted to get into the fray. There have been games where I've wished the Bills had more nasty in them, but they aren't that type of unit...you're giving Drake way too much credit and turning this McDermott-coached team into imposing, ruffians in that moment. -

How quick some will make excuses for rivals when they become candidates to join the Bills' roster. Ford always has his players' backs, but I don't recall him ever doing anything over-the-top or ejection-worthy in the process of defending a teammate; Drake wasn't responding to a helpless teammate, he was unnecessarily adding on to one of his guy's attack on a non-aggressive Poyer. I would not praise Ford for doing the equivalent of what Drake did, just like I never praised Jerry Hughes or Dion Dawkins in the past for doing things unnecessarily that were detrimental to the team. Drake got combative with his own teammate for trying to restrain him, that only added to my belief that he may be a headcase. -

I honestly don't like Drake because of the altercation he was involved in during that Bills' game a season or two ago. -
McDermott was pretty classy in his PC about Zay Jones.

I don't think the trade was ever posted on the Bills' official website, if the case, I find that strange. -

Remaining players or not, he made his name in Buffalo and the game will be played in Buffalo. The Bills are flying high at a time when he's on the league's worst team in the same division of his old team; the Dolphins are going nowhere, so beating the Bills could be the highlight of his miserable season with the Dolphins. I find it hard to believe that playing against Buffalo is just another game for Fitzpatrick. -

I don't think there will be any letdown, but you know Fitzpatrick will try to do his part to bring the Bills down to earth. -
Injury updates - Morse, Milano, Murphy, Ford

If the case, I can truly appreciate patience of this staff...always thinking long-term. It would be something if Singletary went the rest of the way without any lingering effects. -

Singletary's not included in there. Is it safe to assume that he's a closer go for Sunday than Ford, Murphy, and Milano? -
The Jets are just 1-1 under Darnold this season; it's okay to admit that you may have jumped the gun.

Cowboys down...told ya.

Year 1 and Year 2 RGIII isn't much different from Josh Allen currently, in terms of being an unfinished product with immense talent; I don't know of another story that had a heralded, rookie QB (Top 3 pick) entering the league to rejuvenate a fanbase/org. by taking its franchise to the playoffs the same season, only to find himself off of the team roster two seasons later without dreadful numbers that might support his dismissal. The Shanahans nor Gruden, were invested in the development of RGIII, certainly not the way McDermott and Daboll are with Josh Allen, and that much was obvious.

Good. Glad both coaches from the RGIII era have suffered the same fate RGIII was forced to face. Hope the Skins get an actual good coach, versus the latest hype coach, to usher in the Dwayne Haskins era.

Bills fans table breaking needs to calm down

Can already hear the chants: "Younghoe sucks! Younghoe sucks!".

If anything, it might make Josh Allen scale back the aggression behind his runs; after all, the hit happened on a scramble, not on a QB blitz like with Trent Edwards. A person's inner wiring can't be undone so easily (consider JA's tendencies to still force certain passes because his arm strength allows for it). JA has inner toughness, Edwards on the other hand, never epitomized toughness even before the hit.

Week 5: Bills (+2.5) at Titans
BurpleBull replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a gotta-win game if the Bills have truly arrived: lose and the Bills are trying to re-establish themselves as relevant out of the bye. Big difference between losing two games after five games and losing two after seven. -
NFL's newest franchise QB: Daniel Jones
BurpleBull replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No sense in trying to downplay Josh Allen's negatives by using the "EVERY QB" argument; not every QB is in his second season battling the same bad tendencies from college that got him labeled 'erratic' entering the league. I believe Josh Allen's word is good when he says that he's going to make those up-for-grabs INT's a thing of the past (or at least greatly reduce the number of them), but until then, why would you expect people to see him as equally polished a QB as Daniel Jones has shown in the preseason and in his first start? Daniel Jones is sharp as hell with his accuracy, can throw on the move, is mobile and poised, and because of that people feel of all the NY QB's, Jones is most representative of a franchise QB; what's the problem? The Bills still have the most dynamic QB by far and he's already showing that he can lead his team to victory, even when trailing, as you point out; I have no doubt that Allen will continue to refine his game, which will only lead to him doing greater things, and then people will have no choice but give him his dues or be exposed as the haters they are.
