  1. Ford will play both spots. He will line up at RT next to Winters / Williams and RG next to Nsekhe / Williams I guess. Ford's weakness is lateral quickness - so going against that POS Henry Anderson (who is quick on his outside rushes), we might see more of Ford at guard - but that is just a guess at this point.
  2. Happy RBs got the money - it is such an injury prone position yet gets paid the least since the opportunity cost of going to a replacement is low. That said, to be competitive - a team cannot really pay a RB 12-15 mill precisely for the opportunity cost reason. See Rams with Gurley and Jets with Bell. Jury still out on whether Elliott is worth the extension. McCaffrey is probably the single exception to the rule (he IS the face of that franchise now).
  3. On eve of our week 1 matchup - thought I would revisit last year's week 1 game. Most coaches and personnel are unchanged and, unlike the week 17 game, this game meant something. Here are the highlights (enjoy) The Good Devin Singletary, Allen scrambling (dating back to 2017 - for the most part Allen scrambling does lead to good outcomes so long as he doesnt attempt across the body hero ball throws), Allen Beasley connection, Allen Brown connection, the fight in the Bills despite being down 16-0 The Bad Josh Fumbleitis Allen The Ugly That safety ughhh. And a scrambling for his life Darnold heraves one that sails above our defense for the stupidest TD I have ever seen The Unlucky Both Allen interceptions. First one was off Beasley's hands (I think it happened a few times over the season - Allen's throw is a bit too hot to handle at close range - maybe Beasley should make sure to get one hand on top the Ball to prevent the ricochet). Second one was a pass batted down at LOS. The Lucky Jets missed FGs, Mosley injury, Maye missing the interception, Darnold underthrowing an open Anderson multiple times Mixed bag Our Oline - Feliciano looked good for the most part, but others played poorly the entire first half. Dammit the Jets had a 3 man rush and an occasional blitzer - shd have done a lot better. against it But the Oline did rebound in the second half opening some holes for Singletary.
  4. The fortunes of Daboll and Allen are intertwined. Each will go as far as the other takes him. So far, that partnership is trending in the right direction. That being said, i do concur with the notion that this year will be make or break for the partnership as well as for each partner individually.
  5. Fanstastic that Marv is still going strong. More importantly, I just love the way McD does things.
  6. Bigger they are, harder they fall. And quickness trumps size in pass protection. Becton is great for the RB running behind him - he can flatten Hughes or anyone else, but, based on Louisville tape, is vulnerable in pass protection. Expecting a few sacks from that side....
  7. i don’t think so. Jags are tanking for Trevor. He will get at least one year with Trevor. my picks 1. Quinn 2. Gase 3. Nagy
  8. no Tre White is a lil surprising - but other than that, I love the group
  9. More than Tre getting more, Ramsey shd be getting less. WIth a 175 mill salary cap next year - to afford Goff and Darnold and Ramsey (about 75 mill on just these 3 in 2021 and 2022), now the Rams need to play cap roulette. Edit: bold part added
  10. Holy cow. How long will the Rams GM hold his job? First Gurley now this. Ramsey is being paid about 15 mill above what he should be getting given this is an extension with 1 year still remaining. He is not a QB or a DE . Glad Beane did the Tre deal early. Edit A key difference between Tre's deal and Ramsey's is that Tre is getting his deal a year earlier (Tre had 2 yrs remaining). But still the difference is mindboggling.
  11. Cant compare punting stats across teams. Half of Bojo's games are in the Buffalo wind. In contrast, several of the punters being compared to play in a domed stadium. And the blocked punt is not on Bojo but rather on NE recognizing an opportunity against a rookie ST coach (who is great BTW).
  12. Excellent. Get some dirt on Jets playbook as a side benefit.
  13. Fair questions. Why did the Giants not release him until today? He was charged in the first week of August. The Giants actually felt good about Baker being cleared. But it is all timing. His release timing shows what is happening. The big change in the Giants position has been due to his arraignment hearing being postponed from Sep 15 to Jan 2021 making it unlikely he will come off the Exempt list for the next few months. And the Giants have a small chance of recouping part of the signing bonus, which they can only do if they release him. Any other team, however, does not have to worry about recouping the bonus. They are on the hook for the 2020 salary - that is it. Why do I say 50% chance it will blow over in a few months? The key is the nature of the witness' lawsuit - it is civil. not criminal. If they are victims and felt strongly about their case, it would be a criminal lawsuit. Also the same witnesses recanted testimony after participating in the payoff scheme with Dunbar's attorney - so their credibility is shot implying good chance, the civil suit is settled and the charges are dropped before the arraignment hearing since no witnesses will come forward. all this from a Georgia Bulldog fan lawyer pal who closely follows the case. Of course, there is a chance the case drags on and Baker never plays - that is why it is a risk reward scenario - is 3.3 mill worth the potential reward? thats the big question. Hope I answered your question there.
  14. 1. He is Tredavious White lite on the field 2. He comes at a low cost 3. We are thin at CB 4. And it was not HIS attorney. It was Dunbar's attorney Grieco who is now being investigated by the Florida Bar Association. Baker's attorneys had nothing to do with the payoff. In fact, they were the ones who notified the FBI about what was going on. 5. The victims have filed civil suits (not criminal suits) asking for 100K from Baker. Like the Kobe Bryant Colorado case - this will be settled out of court. Bottomline, there is a 50% chance, this will blow over for Baker in a couple of months. This is not to excuse his bad judgment in anyway. But it appears to be a relatively small investment to buy an option on a cost controlled first round talent who is a perfect scheme fit.
  15. About Claiming him on waivers 1. It is my understanding that players on the exempt list do not count towards the active roster limits 2. The scheme fit with McD is scary good 3. His salary is 3.3 mill with no guarantees for next year (Giants have paid out all the signing bonuses). That is the cost of buying an option on DeAndre Baker - if it works out we have our CB #2 / #3 4. Only downside for us if we want him is that our draft priority is low. Funnily enough, Dallas is likely the top candidate to file a waiver claim.
  16. https://sports.yahoo.com/report-giants-to-release-de-andre-baker-after-armed-robbery-arrest-151539889.html He is on the Commissioner's exempt list and in a load of legal trouble. It is 50-50 whether he would play again. But that is what we said when the Kareem Hunt video surfaced. Just in case he does get to play again and gets his life back together (Big IF), I think the Bills should keep an eye on him. Why? He is the closest CB comparison I have ever seen to Tre White. I did a double take when I watched a Georgia game - it was like seeing Tre in a bulldog uni. He is no choir boy but Beane is not in the business of signing choir boys. Yes it is a long shot - but Baker himself can do a lot worse than sign with the Bills - where a player comes to become the best version of himself.
  17. I doubt it. The contract rework is done for now and the first round compensation paid to the Vikes reflects that. All things going well, I'd be all for Diggs asking for more money in 2022 though.
  18. I'd gladly trade a first for a second for an extra 54 mill cap room - Diggs deal and especially his contract rework looking golden. WTG Beaner, btw, Houston fans just a wee bit less upset with Bill O'Brien now.
  19. nice problem to have:) the great thing about the Moss Motor pair is how dissimilar they are. Motor is a home run hitter while Moss can grind out the extra yard. on 1st and 10, from what I have seen, Motor is the better option. 3rd and short, Moss might be the better option (so in answer to OP's question - I feel Singletary shd start) not to say Motor cant do 3rd and shot or vice versa - just relative strengths we might see more Moss rather than Motor vs 8 man boxes - except in those settings my eyes will be on Diggs / Brown rather than the RB. all in all - it is a pick your poison choice for defenses. Let us strap in and enjoy the ride
  20. Nice list - understandably QB heavy. If it were a pure QB list, I'd add Minshew, Tua, Mayfield, Rivers and Murray to the list. And for old times sake, Tuhrod as well.
  21. at this point, it appears Peterson wants to go past 15K yards more than win a SB Lions can potentially be a multi year gig while KC will likely be strict one year with Damien Williams returning from his opt out next season
  22. Unclear if ware complaining about the Diggs trade and not the Epenesa pick. If the latter, our defensive end position while adequate for the season is not likely to age well (Hughes, Murphy, Addison). Needed someone young in there from this draft. If the former, that is whole different can of worms. And Singletary and Moss is not worse than Dobbins and Moss at this time.
