Year in, year out, our DL is garbage when it matters, yet people still want to pay Rousseau 25M per… Im going to need to see something from this DL moving forward before I feel comfortable investing in any of these players. Rousseau is very good.. and maybe he’s worth that to a lot of teams.. imo, unless he becomes a guy who can actually make game changing plays when it matters, I’m not sure he’s worth that to a team that has to pay an elite QB. Luxury players vs Necessary players. And right now, we have zero “necessary” players on this DL. Either step up this postseason or I’m ready to blow up the DL. Re-sign Cooper & Hollins and the Offense is basically set… then explore trades for Oliver and Rousseau and invest heavily in the DL via the draft and get new FA/young blood in here. Or they can finally step up and I’ll be cheering as loud as anyone to extend Rousseau and appreciate the guys like Jones, Oliver and AJ who are under contract next year. Im still open to the fact these guys have upside, but I have exactly zero patience for this constant letdown of a unit.

Agreed. Just today we have the Senator-Elect from NJ and former Maryland Governor ringing the alarm. If for nothing else, at some point, someone will shoot at these things. Then what.. an SUV or bus sized object falls out of the sky into a house like Donnie Darko? We know they’re lying to us. You can’t tell us you don’t know what they are, where they’re from, whose they are, what they’re doing BUT also tell us they pose no danger. That doesn’t make any sense. And they know we know they’re lying, yet they keep lying. On the 5% chance they’re not lying… well, then that’s legitimately terrifying.

Weather is a big reason. Rain all half tonight and snow in Buffalo. But there’s more to it… Niners can get pressure and play tight man. We either can’t or won’t.

Really frustrating how accurate this is when we couldn’t or wouldn’t adapt.

Stafford is officially getting on my nerves now

Puka is not real And Stafford looks equally as bad tonight as he looked good against us.

United Health Care Exec Assassinated in NYC

What a disgusting thing to say… Im sure she won’t have this same energy if a militant pro-lifer smokes a Planned Parenthood CEO. Does Elizabeth Warren think politicians are immune from vigilantes? Actual warped vigilantes… not whatever f’d up patsy nonsense went on in Butler. -
He likely saw SMU buy their way into the ACC and then a year later is in the CFP. Now, he won’t always have the cake schedule SMU had this year avoiding the top 4 conference teams, but in the era of NIL (and it sounds like he’ll have a ton of money to throw around), he can easily snag a top portal QB, buy some OL/DL and skill positions and immediately challenge for a playoff spot if he hits.

United Health Care Exec Assassinated in NYC

It’s FAR more leftists celebrating, but there is a segment of populist MAGA that does as well. This guy wasn’t a liberal, which makes it all the more messy to put this into a political box.. Luigi was culturally trad (right leaning podcast bro views) and anti-large corporation, specifically the healthcare insurance industry for some valid, but mostly misguided/uneducated reasons. Hes an interesting person, but no hero. Hes a coward that took a father from his two kids because of his own ignorance. And anyone who celebrates that is likely a deeply miserable person who hates those that have actually done something with their lives. I tend to lean populist right, but the irony of so many populists celebrating the wealthy trust fund guy that killed a man who built himself up from the middle class.. Truth is, those people never want anyone to succeed. They want the system destroyed so we are all equal in misery. -

Smoot and Spector Practice Windows Opening 12/11/24
SCBills replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
Smoot, if we can get him ramped up for the playoffs, is a sneaky addition. He was starting opposite Rousseau and playing pretty well before getting hurt. This allowed Epenesa and Von to be the rotational guys. I’ll take any help we can get on this consistently frustrating DL we have year in/year out.- 25 replies

Biggest worry is another performance like that in the playoffs. Pretty sure we’re all concerned with the side of the ball that constantly lets us down when it matters and is led by a front running DL who rarely meet the moment. That said.. there are no offenses like the Rams or Lions in the AFC Playoffs (outside CIN who are sitting at 1% chance to make it)

Yea, so scratch that. Pretty wild that it ended up being the wealthy kid from old money that killed a man who built himself up from modest means. Exaulted as an anti-cap hero by the left, only to be a populist tech bro with right wing trad-cultural views. -

Sounds like maybe he had a back condition that made having sex not possible? Did insurance deny corrective surgery for that? Not excusing his actions at all as what he did is pure evil, but I guess I could see how an otherwise healthy, good looking young guy turns to anger & psychadelics, then goes crazy, if he’s a literal incel due to his back issues. -
College Football runs everything. I'm a Syracuse guy and if our football program becomes a perennial Top 25 program, while the basketball program is run into the ground by Autry, fine... Focusing on basketball for anyone other than UNC will leave them behind if realignment ever happens again. UNC has brand and location that makes them coveted no matter what, but for everyone else, the risk is being Kansas if the P4 falls.
-
This is a big time moment for not just UNC, but the ACC. SEC and B1G are running away with CFB and the ACC needs more than two traditional powers in Clemson & FSU, plus the allure of Miami and some teams that pop up from time to time in Syracuse, Pitt, NC State etc..

So about the refs tonight UPDATE: Rams game discussion on page 14

This wasn’t a rock back or lean.. it was a flinch. They call flinches. -
McVay absolutely knew the deal. If we weren’t coached by people who spaz in big moments, we’d be down 2, kicking off with 50-60 seconds lefts, with 3 TO’s. Rams get the ball at the 30 and probably run twice, maybe one of them is some type of misdirection with Puka or a variation off that. And then if it’s 3rd down and 3, he’s letting Stafford throw for the win. 100% this is how it plays out. If we stop them, we get the ball back with about 40 seconds and 1 timeout left and it’s up to Bass to win the game because Allen and our Offense are absolutely getting into FG range.

It was an inexcusable miss in a big moment. We are allowed to discuss that. We lost because our Defense was TRASH and our Head Coach turned into a Muppet again… nobody thinks we lost for other reasons. -

I mean, yea, this is true. But we go back to being the only team to beat KC so far… You have to beat them, because if you leave it up to fate, it seems to go their way. This is the NFL. Nobody is perfect and a lot of games come down to one possession. When that’s the case, refs have outsized influence and it’s bad enough that so many games are determined by in-play egregious calls made or missed.. you can’t have them missing pre-snap penalties on a 4th and 5 with the game on the line. I KNOW a Chiefs fan isn’t in here talking about false starts…. -

Those are the types of plays you just have to accept will happen with NFL officiating. They inexplicably picked up a DPI on Cooper, which clearly was the difference between him catching it or not as it grazed off his finger tips. They can’t miss egregious false starts in big moments. Nothing is happening. That is one of the few things they are looking for pre-snap.
