That can't be the plan.. Sign Rapp to a multi-year deal and then draft Bishop in RD2 to play the same position? Meanwhile the other Safety position is a competition between a Chiefs backup Safety and Damar Hamlin? Rapp is our best Safety and looks like he could follow that Hyde/Poyer path under McDermott. Maybe not to an All-Pro level, but to the point where he's a guy people overlooked but plays really well here. If we want to be the best positioned we can for the Playoffs, getting Bishop to learn on the fly next to him seems to be the move... Hamlin is a solid backup but will always be a liability, and in the playoffs, those liabilities become even more exposed.

Our DL is constantly so frustrating. So much invested in terms of cap and draft capital and they just can't seem to get it right. Jones has got to start playing better. The rest of the guys have flashed (Rousseau, AJ, Von, Oliver) and it's still the constant refrain of consistency, but Jones has just been wildly meh.

I don't think the Giants would, unless they want QB Draft ammo. Their DL is loaded, but it doesn't do them any good without a QB.

The salary, to me, is what makes it outlandish. If we could work around that, I'd be willing to give up a lot for any of those guys... Crosby, if I was the GM, I'd need to be restrained if he was available.

If the Bills make another move before the deadline, I'd think it has to be with a potential Ravens rematch in mind. We match up fine with everyone else (Chiefs, Texans, Bengals etc.) Now whether our defense actually plays to their ability when it matters is another story. Our undersized defense does not match up well with this new Ravens attack at all. And I might want to amend it and say the Texans with Mixon could be a problem as well. Tend to think any additional trade deadline move might want to be for a run stuffing DT.. because we have to keep Bernard/Williams/Johnson clean and having 5 DT's, one a sixth round rookie and the others not exactly being big plugging DT's, we might need to look and see what's available there.

Ashley St Clair is a huge MAGA brand conservative and AB is basically linking with the Trump campaign both on X and with this event.

And what would this ad have to do with Trump? Dr Umar has been saying stuff like this for months.

The difference between the Bills and Chiefs is Chris Jones.
SCBills replied to Allen2Moulds's topic in The Stadium Wall
Obviously Reid >> McDermott, but player wise, Chris Jones is the difference. It’s as easy to point out as he’s the reason why instead of being up 4 over KC at home with 2 minutes left, we had to trot out Bass for an ill-fated attempt to tie. He makes clutch plays like that over and over when it matters. -

Its honestly amazing how toxic the Dems have made it to be a white male of any age and support them. Its like they Bud Lighted themselves, but instead of paying NFL legends and UFC to repair your image, they hired the Texas A&M Yell Leaders. -
That interview was insane

On paper, Cooper + a better premium pick + getting out of the Diggs deal is easily the better choice. Remains to be seen how Allen & Cooper vibe, but another thing to point out is that Diggs has become more of a slot guy in Houston.. he was trending that way here, given his inability to make plays outside when it mattered, and we don’t need another slot guy.

Listening to Beane talk and I’d put the odds of another move higher than 50% Trading for a Safety, after drafting a guy in the second round that they even tried trading up for would be a tough pill to swallow (I do recognize we’ve had big 2nd year jumps). I’d take it back for a guy like Baker though as he’s an actual difference maker. DL seems to be where it would make most sense though. Probably at DT, because I don’t see us making a massive move for a guy who would be better than Rousseau, Epenesa or Von… and if it’s just another rotational guy, what’s the point?
-
There's validity to this statement, and with guys like Bernard and Williams looking good in Year 2, that is a development timeline for Day Two picks that makes sense. And I'm certainly willing to accept that may be Bishop's timeline as well. Where the development point gets frustrating is with premium picks that we're preaching patience with in Year 3 & 4... and then if they breakthrough finally, we've only gotten a year or two of rookie contract high production before we have to make the decision to pay them or not.
-
I know it's not going to happen, but Beane would be an absolute legend if he got this man in Buffalo. I'd be completely fine sending them Rousseau and a high pick. Can't pay both of them anyway, Crosby in his prime and Rousseau is just too inconsistent and I have to imagine we're going to be reluctant to give him a massive contract if he keep having years where he dominates one game and then decides he's a glorified edge setter for the next three.

Eh, honestly it makes sense. They already know it's a rebuild starting either next year or the year after.. whenever Rodgers retires. When that happens, they likely won't have draft position or draft capital to get a top guy, so they'll sign a bridge QB and maybe draft a Tier 2 QB... take their medicine for a year and then hope to figure out a QB situation the following year.. but that will be with a highly paid Wilson and Sauce. They're in a rough future position either way.. might as well go for it. Spreading 8M of dead cap through a couple years to try to salvage this year makes sense when it's a bleak future either way..

Week 7 - Titans at Bills Game Week Thread
SCBills replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Listening to Michael Irvin and Keyshawn Johnson (for whatever that's worth), they described Amari Cooper is the anti-Diggs.. A guy who just wants to play football and hang out. Isn't flashy, isn't a "give me the ball" type of guy.. more of a quiet, laid back guy. So I don't think he's a leader, but I think he's probably a good fit on this team where Josh Allen has officially become the singular leadership voice.- 368 replies

Imagine being a white man voting for a party that thinks you should be more like Tim Walz, while they openly laugh and pander to everyone but you…

I honestly think Beane knew, with the extra draft ammo, that any moves they couldn’t make heading into the season due to the cap reset would likely be available in season before the trade deadline. As a result, we essentially traded Diggs, a 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th for Cooper, a 2nd and a 6th. And fwiw, Cooper is a legit outside threat, whereas Diggs is now more of a slot guy - all the while keeping our cap reset in tact for the future.

Steelers game is massive for them. If they win, they have a shot to get back in this thing. If they drop to 2-5, not likely that an easy schedule can save them.

I thought he's just on the books for 3M regardless.. didn't think he was any additional cap to cut.
