Los Angeles under military attack
SCBills replied to Joe Ferguson forever's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I think most Americans have a soft spot for the hardworking undocumented immigrant that came here decades ago and has, for the most part, become part of our societal fabric. In a perfect world, we can distinguish between that person and the illegal immigrant here that has committed crimes beyond crossing the border illegally/overstaying a visa or is simply leeching of our system with zero desire to ever assimilate. The problem is, there is currently no mechanism to adjudicate all that and we can’t have a country where a Democrat President opens the borders for four years, letting who knows who into this country, and then when we elect someone to remove people here illegally, liberal judges block us from even removing hardened criminals and sanctuary jurisdictions block ICE from enforcing federal law. It’s sad to hear a story here and there about someone who most of us wish could stay.. but in that sweep is also 30x more rapists, drug dealers, human traffickers and people who came here with zero desire to contribute to society and simply contribute to overwhelming social services in the communities they reside. There are no good answers.. but a response is needed and for all the bleeding hearts for isolated sad stories, they never seemed to shed a tear for the woman raped and killed by an illegal, mother who lost her child to an illegal drunk driver, parent of a child OD on fentanyl or impoverished communities losing access to social services because their town/city became overwhelmed with people who don’t speak English and also need those services. -

They want to supersede the federal authority Trump has to send ICE in and detain criminals. States rights don’t allow rogue governors or mayors to harbor criminal activity. Everything we’re seeing right now is due to that catalyst. -

Interesting numbers here, especially for those who don’t know any actual legal immigrants. -

Obama was nicknamed the Deporter in Chief, so it would awesome if blue states and sanctuary cities would stop the bs because the President is a Republican and allow ICE to do their job. -

The left pretend every person being picked up by ICE is a sob story while ignoring the far outnumbering stories of drug dealers and violent criminals being detained. They do this on purpose, as a mental exercise to feel morally superior in their weaponized empathy. In reality, the left wants to destroy our borders, import non-white folks because they view us as oppressors, create a government dependent underclass and backfill their census numbers in blue states losing legal citizens left and right. -

I agree with this. Newsom is, effectively (for the Democrat Base) reframing this as “We were fine until Trump sent the military in on us”. His base wants to harbor illegal immigrants, seemingly violent and non-violent alike, as they oppose any federal enforcement of the biggest mandate Trump has.. which is to carry out his immigration/deportation policies. He knows this is gold for his base, while being at odds with about 55-60% of America, but given the stance he’s taking, he can easily work to the middle down the line by saying he somewhat agrees with Trump’s immigration policies, just not the tactics …. Which is, of course, how Democrats try to tackle every big issue they are on the losing side of now… We want to stop waste, fraud and abuse, just not that way.. We want a strong border and immigration policies, just not that way… We want fairness in women’s sports, just not that way… Its a cop out, it’s false pandering, it’s all bs as they rely on illegal immigrants for cheap labor and census purposes, they rely on a bloated govt to finance their programs/kickbacks/NGO’s and they truly do side with trans over women.. but they can’t admit these things. Newsom is probably the most effective at blatantly gaslighting on these issues while appealing to his base in a way that allows him to center down the line. -

Pretty much where I’m at right now. And most of America agrees. Enough with the temper tantrums and gaslighting. -

Theres a not-insignificant portion of the American public that simply votes in a way to make sure people like that poster never get power. Im thankful for that. -

It must be difficult to debate when you’re only capable of comparing everything to one event. -

It’s always “we agree in theory” but “we hate the methods” Because they’re either being disingenuous and only say they agree to pander to the majority opinion OR they’re children incapable of doing adult things. I suppose both could be true. -

That guy I posted is one of the more rigorous constitutional conservatives there is, who criticizes Trump quite a bit. Your side is unhinged on this and has lost all legitimate standing. -

How do you propose we get them out if they: A) Won’t leave B) Lib jurisdictions won’t make them leave C) Lib activists attack/block law enforcement from removing them Heres the answer… D) What happened last night -

You're so brave. Crying because the majority of this country won’t freely hand over the land our families were born, raised and buried on. -

It’s amazing. They could have focused on the Trump/Elon rift for another week or so and continued an attempt to split the working class / tech bro alliance on the Right. Instead, they immediately, through rhetoric and lack of control, put a riot in front of the American public as law enforcement is attacked, vehicles set on fire and foreign flags fly amongst the chaos. Well done. Bravo.

Ah, yes.. enforcing a vaccine on the American population with threats of ending careers and limiting freedom of movement, all the while controlling the narrative in media/tech and censoring dissent is, certainly, the same as using federal authority to stop violent people from attacking law enforcement and rioting. Indistinguishable. But if your comparison wasn’t idiotic, I would acknowledge that the left has pushed people so far on certain issues that some things we should all be uncomfortable with currently may have majority support. -

It’s all anecdotal as I’ve had the opposite reaction from a few registered Democrats who despise Trump but when showed footage of riots and foreign flags, agreed with the steps taken. As in all things, for those less engaged, framing matters.
