Charlie Kirk Memorial Service: 9/21 2PM EST
SCBills replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Watching yesterday’s memorial and contrasting it with clips yesterday from Ilhan Omar and other leftist leaders .. there could not be a more illuminating contrast between the two political ideologies and their visions for the future of America. Not every Democrat ascribes to the vison of the far left, but that is the end game for that party. It’s the ideology fueling and pulling that party. And very clearly, what we saw yesterday, is the ideology driving the new right.. especially amongst those under 40. -

Saw a post on X about how a lot of people on the right, whether openly admitting it or not, worried about life after Trump and how to keep the coalition together. Yesterday was the first day where we saw a movement .. either a modification of MAGA or a birth of a new movement with elements of MAGA .. and Trump was simply an afterthought. Completely overshadowed by the movement, whereas prior to this, he was the movement. -
Id be shocked if they don’t get it together by the playoffs. They get Rice and Worthy back and will probably make some kind of trade deadline move.
-
This dude Thornton was just floating around for anyone to have? Oh well… elite fast but probably can’t block so not on our radar.
-
Daboll coaching this game like he wants the fans to have maximum anger.
-
In fairness, they have no kicker and probably realize the only way that turnover turns into a score is if Scattebo rips it from Russ’s hands and beastmodes himself into the end zone.
-
PI there and then not securing the fumble on the other end.
-
So they miss the false start but catch the illegal contact?
-
Are they? Mahomes can’t hit a deep throw and is literally throwing the ball backwards.
-
They’ve got to play Dart. This is a winnable game and Daboll might as well tell the locker room he’s forfeiting with Russ if he doesnt make a change at half. Russ can’t move and can’t do anything but dump it off, throw deep balls and intererceptions.

Every Sunday I watch football with people and we’ve had this on pretty much all day … the women here were almost inconsolable during Erika’s speech. This has been one of the most moving events I’ve ever witnessed. -

Choosing to spam this stuff in a Memorial thread says a lot about you. -

Not gonna lie… watching the worship band on stage right now inside State Farm Stadium, with so many inside already worshipping like Sundays at church, has me choked up. -
Your 2025 Democrat Party - the New Red Guard

So the party that wants more gun control lets a leftist gunman who fired 3 shots into an ABC station out on bond? Ok then.. -
Ogunjobi was really good in our style defense. Miscast in recent years. But who knows what he is now. I just think he “could” be good here and it would be a big leap of faith to depend on two rookies at DT in a rotation heavy DL, one of them having a back issue last year and our starting DT being an older player.
-
I don’t think DL is a need given we have Hoecht and Ogunjobi coming back off suspension in a few weeks. Linebacker, depends what they think of Shaq Thompson. Milano not out long term, but can’t really be counted on. Need to have a solid back up for him.. which could be Shaq. If not, I could see the Bills looking around at LB’ers. Safety apparently requires 10 years of prep to play in our system, so I doubt they make a move there & Corner has Hairston coming back, so not really much to be done there. If we were to make a move before the deadline, the only place I see a true need is a guy to take the top off at WR, but I don’t know that the Bills see this the same way.
-
Codrington just fumbled last game and keeps taking massive hits because he apparently allergic to the fair catch signal. I think the Bills like having him back there right now when we have a bunch of guys on IR/Suspension, but when Hairston and Hoecht come back, those two take far more precedent over a kick returner… and maybe he stays if it’s just those two, but if the Bills decide they want to have Ogunjobi on the 53 as well… I’m not sure there’s room for a ST only in Franklin AND ST only in Codrington.
-
For the people who say trade Epenesa, Joey Bosa played 87% of snaps against Miami. That is insane. They went to a 3 man rotation with Bosa, Rousseau and Epenesa. I get that Solomon is a ST guy, but if he can’t be trusted to play DE snaps in Year 2, not sure what we’re doing here. Dont think we cut him, because he’s only in his second year, but definitely see him as inactive. That 3 man DE rotation needs to become a 4 man DE rotation when Hoecht comes back. Ogunjobi, imo, is insurance given two of our DT’s are rookies… one with coming off a back injury. I’d keep him around, even if inactive, in case of injury, lack of early development for TJ or hitting a rookie wall. If nothing changes between now and then… Codrington, Ingram, Franklin and Samuel seem like realistic options for Hoecht, Ogunjobi and Hairston.. then Lundt gets cut and hopefully stashed when Grable comes back. Samuel is someone I think the Bills hold onto while letting the league know he’s available for trade.. especially with how comfortable Elijah Moore looks in this Offense and Shavers starting to show he can be counted on to block and make some catches.

Kirk cared about the black community insofar that he wanted to see them lift themselves up.. heavy focus on male role models and the nuclear family. He felt, with data to back it up, that this is the only way for the community to actually be successful. There’s plenty of black people who support and agree with him. He would make incendiary comments about handouts and DEI, which got clipped and framed by his opponents to portray him as condescending and ridiculing the black community. Lots of black people believe, rightly or wrongly, that he was racist due to this. Politicians and activists have plenty of incentive to make sure black people depend on the government for help & advancement policy. And we can debate about whether there should be some due to historical oppression, but anyone advocating for a refusal on government reliance is a threat to those with political interests and will be labeled as such in ways to minimize reach. -
Seems like it typically takes some time for DL not drafted in the top 5 or so to hit. Look across the field at Kenneth Grant, a guy 90% of us wanted… dude has been getting washed out all over the place for Miami so far this year.
