  1. Oh, well if he messaged on it… His Administration betrayed Americans by opening the borders, divided us on race & gender and tried to other the unvaccinated. Unless the point your making is that all politicians lie, no idea what the importance of that post was.
  2. Interesting article on a government run grocery store in rural Florida. Obviously a different dynamic than whatever Zohran has in mind for densely populated NYC, but a look into issues faced before closing after 8 years of never breaking even.
  3. Do you think a leader like Zohran Mamdami is, at all, good for your hope of not having a President Vance or Rubio in ‘28? Trump is a populist, but has made gains with tons of new voters while reshaping the Republican Party in a way that is far more durable. Can Mamdami do the same? Hes not President, no, but as Mayor of NYC (should he win) he will become the poster boy of the Democrat Party for future elections in the high likelihood his socialist plans for NYC go the way of San Francisco. With NY being the media capital of the country, you can bet the exposure will be nonstop. If anyone wants him to lose, it should be moderate Democrats around the country. Should he win, he becomes a living, breathing campaign ad for the GOP nationally.
  4. People have to get past Republican vs Democrat. Those parties exist in formula but each party has a war raging between the establishment wing and populist wing. Trump leading the Republican Party has helped steer R’s towards populism at a far faster rate.. but the constant pull of the socialist left has, over time, started to break the establishment Democrat stranglehold of the party. Establishment failings on both sides obviously has accelerated this as well.
  5. Honestly.. a really good assessment, regardless of how one feels about the messenger.
  6. I don’t think most of us have a ton of faith in Eric Adams to take down Zohran, given the campaign and energy Zohran has. It’s going to take Moderate Dems and most of the cities Republicans backing Adams… so hopefully both Sliwa & Cuomo get out of the way, but doubtful.
  7. Fair enough.. screams to me that is a voting group dominated by 75k-150k white corporate libs that live paycheck to paycheck in a tiny NYC apartment, yet still brunch and go out at night, while believing they deserve a better life. Easily susceptible to a slick millennial targeted campaign promising lower rent and food costs while hitting their virtue sweet spot on cops, Israel and illegal migrants. Comfortable enough to not fear the ramifications but also not wealthy enough to fear them either.
  8. Worst part of this, imo, is that this will create waves of actual Democrat voters moving South. Moderate Dems, but still Dems nonetheless. The big misconception is that New Yorkers moving to places like Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee etc., are “bringing their politics with them”. Thats true.. just not in the sense many believe. Not all, but most of these former New Yorkers, myself included, are right leaning and vote right leaning in our new southern states. Raleigh might be an outlier, as it’s a lot of University & Research transplants. But Charlotte, Greenville, Charleston, Atlanta metro, especially Florida.. have all remained unchanged or gotten redder since the start of North to South mass migration. With a guy like Mamdami, he will start the flight of moderate Dems. These people will move south and vote Democrat.. especially since southern Dems tend to be more moderate than northern Dems. Therefore palatable to people who fled a socialist but still want to live under a Roy Cooper type or virtue signal vote for a Stacey Abrams.
  9. Lol… Bodega owners and small business black owners at home worried about how to make a living if Zohran becomes Mayor while more affluent liberal whites celebrate.
  10. No.. a lot of finance bros live outside NYC and from what I’ve heard, most of them who do live in Manhattan voted for Cuomo or not at all. Women in NYC corporate jobs easily fall into the 50k-100K and 100k+ range and militantly voted Mamdami. It was the working class Black & Latino women who voted Cuomo to no avail.
  11. Cuomo won amongst Black and Latino New Yorkers, those making less than 50k per year and Jews You’d think that’s a winning coalition, but Mamdami turned out absolutely insane numbers in those making 50k - 100k and 100k+ To Roundy’s point above though, finance bros didn’t vote Mamdami. The wealthy areas of Manhattan are made up of far more people than finance bros .. and a lot of them live in NJ/LI.
  12. This thread is about the NYC Mayoral Race… can you hop off Trump’s D for five seconds?
  13. If NYC falls, all of NY goes with it. Cant even fathom national ramifications of the finance sector fleeing.
  14. Probably the biggest example of blind partisanship I’ve seen in recent memory. Democrats, aside from Fetterman, just whining for the sake of whining. Many Republicans would likely react the same way if it was a Democrat who pulled off what Trump just did. Who knows if the ceasefire holds, but the fact we took out Iran’s nukes and then Iran all but took it with some symbolic forewarned missiles and now we have a fragile ceasefire.. probably not even the most optimistic folks thought this would be the outcome (so far)
  15. Fair enough. I hope you’re correct. I think we almost certainly have terrorists in this country. Certainly those sympathetic to foreign causes that could be radicalized. Pretty much every Western country now has that concern. But as far as coordinated sleeper cells.. I know there is monitoring/concern of that by our intelligence agencies.. how coordinated and how sophisticated remains unclear as to whether they could actually pull something off.
  16. Have to hope our intelligence agencies are up to the task. We know terrorists and Chinese Nationals have been coming across the border. China buying up land. There is zero reason any of the above should have been so easily occurring. So now we have to pray we can snuff them out. But we can’t just sit around making foreign policy decisions off fear of foreign countries activating sleeper cells in our country because multiple Presidents.. especially our most recent one pre-Trump, allowed this to be a major concern. I do enjoy the sudden concern of sleeper cells now that Trump is President.. didn’t hear much from yall on this topic when Biden’s corpse was allowing whoever wanted to come into our country.
  17. That’s why having a secure border is actually important. We shouldn’t make decisions based on whether or not sleeper cells in our country might activate. Yet here we are…
  18. Same exact thing they did after Trump 45 took out Soleimani. Rinse and repeat.
  19. Trump 45 yeets Soleimani. Iran gives us a heads up before sending symbolic missiles at an American base. Trump 47 takes out Iran’s nuclear capabilities. Iran gives us a heads up before sending symbolic missiles at an American base.
