Once Dak gets his sea legs under him and the 49ers get their guys gelling.. the NFC’s top 4 is much better than anyone ever thought entering the season. However, the Bills and Chiefs are so much better than the top NFC team that it swings the balance to the AFC. Sorry, I do not buy the Eagles. Good team, not great. Buffalo and Kansas City are great.. and most importantly, have the two best QB’s in the NFL, by a wide margin.

Trade Deadline (Nov 1) Bills Rumors / Speculation
SCBills replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea, but the only thing I’ve learned is that if we do finally make a move on the deadline, I’d actually be surprised if it’s for one of these linked players to us … that’s why, even though fake, randomly trading for Hockenson would make sense given how tight lipped and secretive our FO is. -
Trade Deadline (Nov 1) Bills Rumors / Speculation

Dolphins have a lot of high end players and will soon have to decide whether to pay Tua or start over at QB. Makes sense for them to go all in while they’ve still got those corners and both speed WR’s. Wont be enough.. but I get it. -

Hockenson is under contract for around 9.4M next year, correct? -
All anyone can do is nitpick and find any crack in the armor that could prevent us from winning a Super Bowl. Gabe Davis and Isaiah McKenzie have not been consistent enough to squash the view many of us held heading into the season, that we should get another reliable WR. This isn’t some knee jerk reaction, many of us have always felt this way. Can we win a SB as is.. absolutely. However, we’re nitpicking .. and a very visible area to go is in the fact our WR2, WR3 and TE1 have all been inconsistent/injured to this point. Singletary has been Allen’s chain mover in the pass game more often than a slant/sit-down/quick-out to McKenzie or Davis. Against KC, McKenzie bungled a TD and dropped a pass backed up in our own end zone. Last night Davis was invisible for most of the night and dropped a house call slant. Can they all get better and solve the problem internally, yes. But this is, and has been, a potential crack in the armor.

🚨Trade🚨Roquan Smith To Ravens for 2nd,5th AND Aj Klein
SCBills replied to Steel City Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ravens fans have the reaction I thought they would … ”uh, ok….” 2nd and a 5th for a rental or $20M per year LB isn’t anything I’d be thrilled about -

Going to be interesting to see how the Ravens handle contract negotiations for both Lamar and Roquan now. -
I love Gabe Davis' explosive ability, but it's not a wild take. What has he shown to be considered a legit #2? He's not reliable game in / game out. He dropped a slant that would have likely been taken to the house and daggered that torturous game. He allowed Jaire Alexander to get in his head all night. You can certainly get by with what Gabe is right now (one of the league's best deep threats/big play WR's) IF you have a reliable slot WR and/or TE to move the chains. We currently have neither. Our slot WR and our TE are also inconsistent splash play guys. There's got to be someone beyond Diggs and the RB's that Allen can rely on to move the chains through the air.

Are Bills fans expectations too high????
SCBills replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think so. Most of the conversation today is about how last night's game was just weird.. Players seem to agree. Every talking head this morning is echoing the, likely, correct conclusion that Buffalo just got bored in the second half and lost focus. I'm not worried about the run defense's one-off performance unless that becomes a theme. In the game script, we seemed just fine letting them drain the clock down 3 scores. I do think there were a few things to pay attention to on offense: -The tackles struggled in pass pro against the Green Bay pass rush -Davis had another one of those games where you question his ability to be a reliable #2 -Allen got extremely careless/unfocused as this team continues to turn the ball over way too much Downside, those issues could hold us back. Upside, we're 6-1 and easily beat Green Bay while playing our C game.. the ceiling for this team is crazy. -
I think a legitimate WR2/3 possession type WR makes a lot of sense, if one is available.. depending on what we may/may not have in place with OBJ. Diggs is elite. However, outside of him, we have playmakers. So far Davis, Knox and McKenzie have all shown they can make splash plays, but none have emerged as a legitimate possession WR for Allen. Shakir has the look of that, but is just a rookie.

Allen was really off in the second half. That was the worst I've seen him look since Jax last year. Luckily he was an absolute freak in the first half to put the game out of reach early on. Team/Allen just looked like they wanted to throw haymakers all half when Green Bay was conceding jabs. Also should be noted that our Tackles really struggled, which led to JA never being able to have a clean pocket. Also, Davis seemed to really struggle. Alexander had him in his head, including a dropped slant that likely goes to the house.

Tackles getting worked on most passing plays isn’t exactly helping things Allen covers for it, but Dawkins and Quessenberry are forcing Allen to step up immediately way too much -

We joke, but someone could throw a late round pick or a player swap for a Moss type player. There’s always guys like him that another team has scouted heavily during the draft, loved his tape, and may think he’s just been an odd man out in a pass heavy offense. I know I wouldn’t mind the Bills taking flyers on those types for a 6th or 7th if there’s a guy on another team we liked and think he’s just been in a bad situation for his skill set. -
Can’t really think of too many in the league I dislike. Rodgers would probably get on my nerves if I didn’t think he was an important voice during the absurdity we saw over the last two years - even though he didn’t handle it that well. Brady I went from hating, to respecting, to now feeling bad for. He’s the NFL’s MJ, with Kobe’s mentality. He was still playing at a high level last year… I don’t think he had any reason to believe it would all fall apart this year (if it even has as he’s in the terrible NFC South)
-
For the player, yea. For the person, no.

I just have faith that we wouldn’t acquire a guy / nor would a guy act b***hmade in this WR room, on this team. If Jeudy truly plays scared we would never go after him and/or JA, Diggs, Davis, Hall, Von etc would be in his face until he mans up. Same reason I have no issue with OBJ … Beane via JA and co. knows the temperature of the locker room. They won’t go after guys who don’t fit.
-
Id love a trade for Jeudy, and I’d give Davis assurances behind the scenes that he’s our guy as long as he keeps putting in the work … but a 2nd and 6th seems high if Toney (with one more year on his rookie contract) went for a 3rd and 6th. That may be correct, given Jeudy has a #1 skill set, albeit playing like a JAG so far, while Toney is more of a slot/chess piece player. But the cost control piece between the two does seem noteworthy when it comes to compensation.
